just an average life for an average girl until she finds a not so average drop dead gorgeous hunk on her door step looking for her. Ruby is the daughter of the local hippie healer; when her mother is murdered the local wolf shifter pack takes her in. The Last Unicorn

Ruby held the letter as Seelie recalled the tale. 


She was so mad; not at her father, but the evil mad man behind it. 


Seelie clenched his fist, "I have come to suspect the dark mage passed his evil on." 


Seelie held his head in his hands, "I tried to keep her safe, but she only ever saw the good." 


Daisy was finishing up the dishes when the phone rang, "Hello." 


"Daisy it's me Seelie." The voice on the line said. 


Daisy smiled, "Seelie what's the occasion." 


Seelie's voice was serious, "Is Ruby safe?" 


Daisy sat down, "Yes. You're scaring me Seelie. What's wrong?" 


Seelie paused, "The council believes the dark mage who set up the child lab was working with someone." 


Daisy made a fist, "They weren't just wanting an army of others were they." 


Seelie pounded his fist hard, "I swear I will keep you-" 


Daisy cut him off, "Just swear to protect Ruby." 


Colt stood up fiercely, "No one will lay a finger on my fated mate." 


Colt turned to her, "I- yes I knew the moment I first saw your picture. That was six months ago. Joey said you were at an authors event and I meant to come back before the wedding, but-" 


Ruby shook her head, "This is too much. I find out my mom was not just a new age hippie but a rouge druid who married my dad who was a fricking warrior unicorn; which makes me the last unicorn. Oh and B.T.W. my best friend conveniently forgets to tell me a dead sexy werewolf is probably my fated mate knowing how isolated I have felt!" 


Ruby screamed a gutteral noise and stormed out of the house. 


Colt didn't know how to respond. He pulled her into his arms, "Ruby, we will figure it out ok." He held her, "This is just new information it won't change who you are." 


Ruby sniffled, "Colt this is just surreal." 


They walked back to Seelie's. The alpha looked paper thin as they sat back down, "Ruby, I don't know how else to say this. You carry with in you the most important magic. Life and hope." 


Ruby nodded, "The joys of being the last female of your kind." 


"Not a single one of these brats carry a hint of unicorn magic." A dark auraed man barked. 


A young boy coward, "Father what if they really are extinct?" 


The back hand on the man was the boy's answer, "They can't be. Even if only girls were born for centuries it would still be in the DNA; eventually a boy would be born." 


The man stomped about the lab, "But I only need a female...a female I can breed."
