CHAPTER 8

[10.00 pm, A MONTH AGO]

"Here is the key."

"Thank you."

"It's good enough I accept you this late in the night. Don't ruin it."

"Yes, sir!"

Aqasha bowed to the old man who happened to be her landlord. He was the man that rented the house to her with a small amount of money. Good thing that the old man had a granddaughter, he pitied her.

Aqasha opened the door and walked in. The house was clean despite the small size. A small tv with an old couch, a sink, a little refrigerator, a small bathroom, a small room and a slide door that connected to the world outside, facing a park. She slides open the slide door and walked to the little balcony. A house like this with a small rent sure was a blessing. A wind blew right through her as if they were welcoming her but actually bringing bad news. Her new phone rang, waking her from her beautiful dream and the wind stopped. She reached her phone and an unknown number was on the screen. She said nothing and the phone kept ringing, asking, no begging her to pick up.

"Hello?" She started.

"Hey..." A husky and sexy voice answered.

Just from that one word, she knew who was on the other side. Her eyes went wide and she hold the phone tightly. The man continued.

"I saw you on the balcony. You look fine to me. It looks like closing the case was a good idea." He smirked.

"..."

"What is this? A silent treatment?"

"..."

"Oh come on-"

A heavy punch came from a skinny hand, right to his left side of his fine face, strong enough to make him dropped his phone to the ground and him, fall to the ground in instance.

"What the-"

Another punch greeted his messed-up face making him unable to get up. An unknown person with a black hoodie kept punching him without giving the opportunity for him to counterattack. Despite receiving all the punches and using only his arms to block the punches, he manages to scream for help. Knowing that help was on the way, the person in the black hoodie grabbed his hands and put it on top of his head, while kept punching his mouth. It was at the third punch that a few men in black suit were running towards the person and almost give a good punch to the face. The person was careless and overexcited with the encounter that the person forgot about everything else.

'Focus!'

'Shut up! I need more strength!'

The person jumped back and the hoodie got off. The face was revealed.

He was shocked at first, then he smiled and then it turned into a lunatic laugh. He touched his forehead with his right hand and looked at the person while smiling widely.

"I knew it. It IS you!"

She stayed silent but started to move forward. Slowly, she began running and ran straight to him. Panicked, he screamed.

"Protect me!"

His bodyguards stood in front of him. Another two showed up out of nowhere and face her. She smirked and jumped a few times before running towards the first victim. She punched the first one right on the face then tackled him, and pushed his head to the ground, hitting the back of his head, knocking him out. The second one rushed to her and almost punch her but she managed to step a few steps back before stand up straight. She ran to the second bodyguard, smiling with eyes wide open. Being careless again, she was punched by another bodyguard from her left. She stumbled but quickly step back. Blood dripping. More bodyguard came from nowhere and the one that she was after was running away inside of a black car. She tried to chase him but was stopped by a huge number of bodyguards. It was five or more, and being outnumbered was not in her plan. She still hasn't managed to fully control the black smoke and haven't made any progress. She looked at them one by one. She took a deep breath, then release it slowly. Then, she started.

She ran towards the one on the front. A hard kick right through the stomach straight to the chin of the unlucky man. K.O. She moved to the second. She ducked to dodge the opponent's punch then give him a sharp punch on his ribs, breaking a few of them. Two down. She took another deep breath while the others running towards her but just before she could enjoy the fight, an old man yelled at them, stopping the fight.

"Hey! What are you doing? Police! Police! Help!"

Thanks to that, they scrammed like a rat running away to the sewer. The old man came to her, in shook. He looked at her up and down.

"What the hell happened to you? I thought they bullied some random guy but it was you?"

Aqasha scratched the back of her head while looking towards those cowards.

"Sorry." She looked at the old man.

"Hah.... No need. Just make sure to keep it down. There's an old hall at the end of the road. Not lots of people ever come there. You can do this there. Understand?"

"Huh? You not mad?" She confused.

"Nah, you youngsters should live to the fullest. It's good to encounter this kind of situation sometimes. Good memory I'd say" He walked away.

"Good memory huh?"

The old man stopped and looked back.

"You said someth- eh, where did she go?"

Aqasha closed the slide door and looked at her phone. She saves the number as 'Motivation' then smiled by herself. She placed her phone on the table and went to the refrigerator. She puts the stuff she bought from nearby market into the refrigerator. After finishing the refrigerator, she grabbed a mineral water and sat on the couch. She almost drinks the water when a voice appeared.

"I don't want it. Grab another drink."

She ignored the voice and kept drinking. Later, she threw out the water, and her shirt was wet.

"I told you. Now go grab another drink. Aside from mineral water."

"This is my body. You follow my orders. Not the other."

"Heh, you only won a fight with me. Nothing special. Don't get cocky now. You still a brat that needed ME."

"I can-"

"Yeah, yeah you can use my teleportation without a problem, but you know what? That is all you can do! Hahahhahah"

Aqasha drank the mineral water while holding her neck. She swallowed the whole bottle then chocked.

"Asshole! You want to kill us both? Koff... Koff... Ugh..."

"So you actually afraid that I would kill you, huh?" She smiled.

"Heh, I'm not. Go ahead and kill me. I might die but I could be reborn as a new power to another person. You're not the only special person, you know? She could just pick another girl to play."

Aqasha confused. What? Play? What game? And who is SHE? The little girl?

"What are you talking about?"

Silence. She waited for a few seconds but only to hear nothing.

"Oi! Don't sleep now!"

"..."

"So, in the end, I received the silent treatment."

The night went with Aqasha slept soundly on the bed, with her favorite pajamas. Two weeks ago, she had a dream. Well, it looked like a dream, but too vivid for her. She was on some kind of an endless lake. She stood on the water, without any sign of sinking. The water was sparkling and beautiful it took her breath away. She kept looking at the water that she didn't realize a black smoke appeared behind her and nearing.
