Chailai, affectionately called Lai, has endured a lifetime of torment due to her physical appearance - too plump, too unattractive. As she enters university, her only aspiration is to evade further ridicule and graduate unscathed. However, fate has other plans as a serendipitous encounter with the campus' most attractive and benevolent gentleman, Nodt, changes her life forever.
