Damien's POV
The day I met him was the day my heart became complete.
My brothers and I have given up on all hope to find a mate, but it seems the moon goddess was on our side.
Having three Alphas is wrong, but having only one mate sounds taboo, and not forgetting our mate turned out to be a male.
Truth be told, we all thought our mate will be female.
I've never swung that way, but he brings out emotions in me that I don't know how to cope with.
I don't care if the world is against us, all I care about is my mate and his acceptance.
I can sail the world just for him and lay down my life just so he can smile at me.
I've never been the possessive type, but he brings it out of me, truth be told am jealous of his family.
His words earlier kept repeating continuously
“what I wouldn't give to be in Seattle now”
I left my brothers in the locker room when we left the cafeteria and walked towards my special spot in the school to avoid a run-in with my pack members.
I don't want rumours of the insecure Damien rotating in the pack. Rumours and gossips travel faster in this pack than real news does, and I in particular don't want to be the object of their gossip.
I can't command them to cease the rumours.
As the saying goes," You don't command respect, you earn it.”
“Alpha,”
Richard saluted as he sat on the bench I was sitting on, “why do you look so lost?” He asked in concern.
I sighed, not desiring his question and answer.
Richard has been my best friend since we were a kid, and it seems wise to make him my beta when I became Alpha.
He's the opposite of me with his lean athletic body, brown hair, green eyes and baby innocent face, but he's a ruthless warrior, and he uses his looks to his advantage. No one suspects an innocent-looking cute guy of murder, even though he's the culprit.
“Am just thinking of my mate”
With his black hair and beautiful brown eyes, I don't know his eyes could be beautiful until I met him, he's all I've wanted in a mate and more.
Richard smiled Knowingly at me, “Who wouldn't think of a hot cutie mate?” he smiled while I tried to playfully throttle him “don't call my mate cute, else you won't have a fathering organ,” I growled at a pale-face trembling Richard.
He raised both hands, “chill, Damien, I was just joking.”
I scoffed, “you better be, else I will make true of my threats.”
“I don't understand why he wants to leave. Is this place not a better site?” I became worried over the intended departure of my mate. If it's up to me, I will tie him to my bed and prevent him from leaving me until death.
Although my brothers didn't voice out their fears, I can feel it from the bond we share, we feel each other's emotions except when one of us decides he wants to keep his problems to himself.
“You don't expect him to like this place, he just packed in new and hasn't experienced the wonders of our pack. Besides, his dream of going to Seattle didn't start when he came here, it must have been his dream for a long time. Give it time, he will come to love this place, the brothers, and the people in it,” he smiled.
Richard has always been a solid ground for my sinking emotions, he knows what to say and when to say it.
When others see the storm, he sees the silver lining in it, and his counsel rival that of Ahithophel in the scriptures.
I smiled at him, although my heart was breaking from the assumed rejection of my mate.
“I will give time to adjust to the changes, but I can't promise to control my wolf if it decides he wants his mate”.
“ One of the special abilities of the Alpha is to control his urges despite the situation, and for an Alpha to lose control of his wolf is like a disgrace to the pack. That said, I trust you to control your urges where he's concerned in other not to harm your mate or scare him,” he warned as he stood to his feet.
“ The third bell has been rung, and I need to get back to class before Mr bulldog * that's the students' nickname for Mr Bim because of droopy cheeks* gets to the class, unlike people I know who don't punish even when the arrival three minutes before class dismisses.”
“If you are jealous of your Alpha, just say so Beta,” I smirked as he ran back to class. The class I have now is advanced English, am not a bookworm, that's more like Donald. I was promoted to the advanced classes when I mistakenly submitted Donald's assignments and texts as mine.
When Donald found out, he shrugged and submitted mine as his, and that's why he's still in Literature class.
I would have skipped the class if not that Miguel is in the same class and I don't want him sitting near anyone, especially that mutt that calls himself Solomon, except my brothers and me.
I hurried towards the class, passing by different classes before I reached mine.
As I passed Miss Becky's class, she gave me a deadly glare.
I don't understand why she doesn't like me, if it's Daniel that's passing she will smile but since it's me, she just glares.
As I entered the class, the once noisy class became quiet as the students partially lowered their heads except Solomon, Miguel, and Mr bulldog.
“So nice of you to join us,” Mr bulldog said sarcastically as he resumed writing on the board, he's a human who's mated to a werewolf that's why he doesn't feel the urge to respect his Alpha since he married into my pack.
I scanned the room and when my eyes lighted on Miguel, I smiled and walked toward him.
He gulped as I sat down and smiled brightly at him.
“Should I be concerned about your change of mood?” he whispered, clearly not wanting the teacher to hear.
“No, nothing of that sort, am just happy and that's that.”
I heard Richard snort, but I let it slide since I am sitting next to my mate who might be alarmed or frightened if I decide to teach him a lesson or two.
I smiled at Miguel, “want to hang out after school?”.
“Mr Chuks, are you in class to chat or to learn?” Mr bulldog asked.
I smiled innocently, “to learn sir,” I said in my sweetest voice. One he can't say no. “Then concentrate on it.” he turned and started writing again.
