Chapter 6

When he came in with a goofy smile on his face, I knew something was up, I trust my gut as it hasn't betrayed me for once.

He took the seat next to me, that's no longer surprising to me as the triplets prefer sitting with me whenever we are in the same place.

With the goofy smile still in place, he took out his jotter and started scribbling on it, he looked so serious it was suspicious.

This is so good to be true and being who I am, I voiced my concerns.

“Should I be concerned about your change of mood?” I whispered not wanting to alert the dancing teacher as I dubbed him since he shakes his butty as he writes which is quite hilarious if you ask me.

“No, nothing of that sort, I'm just happy and that's that.”

It's only a child that will believe his words since he has that knowing smirk in place

“Want to hang out after school?”

I blanched, like I said earlier, my guts haven't failed me and meh was I right.

“Mr Chuks, are you in class to chat or to learn?” Mr dancing butt asked.

He smiled innocently, as if it's easy to convince the only teacher who doesn't kiss the ground he and his brothers walk on.

That's a first for them, teachers and students bow and worship the ground they walk on as if they are gods.

“To learn, sir,” he said in the sweetest of voices. One so syrupy I knew it was fake.

“Then concentrate on it.” He turned and started writing again.

Damien leaned closer," so what did you say about hanging out?”

With no obvious route of escape, I blurted, “are your brothers going to be there?”

His countenance did a total 180 turn the moment those words left my mouth

“That means, you would rather not spend time with me if my brothers aren't there?” He asked in anger.

My mouth dropped open, what's with this person and his mood swing?

One minute he was smiling, the next his glare I enough to freeze a glacier.

“I didn't mean I like that. I was only asking about them as you three seem close.” They all like staying together.

He forced a smile," you know what? I get it, Daniel has the brawn, Donald the brain and I the odd one among us. You don't need to pretend to like me when it's obvious you only like them, not me.”

His words made me open and close my mouth.

“It's not like that, how can I have a preference when you all are the same?

Choosing between you is like dividing you all.”

When did we even get into the choosing stage?

“ Forget about it, I would rather not think more about it,” he turned and resumed writing.

“What of the hanging out? I'm free if you are still interested in it.” I smiled, but he didn't reply, instead, he frowned and resumed writing.

I poked him to get his attention.

“I said leave me the bloody alone!!!” he stood and walked out of the class in anger.

“What was that about?” the teacher asked.

“Nothing!” I snapped at him, and that shut him up fast.

The lessons went by in a blur for me, as I wasn't concentrating due to the fight I had with Damien.

I don't know what's wrong with me.

My brain stopped functioning the moment he walked out of the class, oddly enough his twins were nowhere to be found for the remaining school hours.

*

I yelped when I felt palms close my eyes

“Guess who?”, she laughed.

“It's not difficult to know it's you since you talked, exposing yourself”.

Bianca removed her palm from my face as she skipped in her steps

“Why are you walking alone, what of your bodyguards?” She inquired of the triplets that have been a constant in my life since I came to this strange town.

“I fought with Damien” I sighed.

I don't know if what happened between us can be considered a fight.

“Aside from the cafeteria problem, you had another falling out with Damien?” She looked genuinely concerned.

“ Yeah, that was during lessons, he asked me if I wanted to hang out after school, but I asked him if his brothers will join. He flipped after that, accusing me of preferring his brothers to him. I tried to reason with him, but he was beyond reasoning with his ridiculous deductions.”

Bianca looked at me with pity as I ranted on and on about my supposed fight with Damien

“An Alpha will always be one,” she murmured.

“What did you just say?”

She looked up in alarm “oh nothing, just making a statement, that's all,” she linked her arm with mine" let's go home!!”

She chattered as we went home.

“Wait a minute, why are you walking me home?” I asked the chattering girl, since it's obvious she doesn't live in the same street as I.

“I want to know the house of my best friend, or isn't that appropriate?” she pouted.

I must confess, she looks cute when she pouts, and I would gladly do anything she wants since she referred to me as her best friend.

“It's okay, and I would equally love to know yours as well”

As we walked into my street, she made a gesture for me to wait as she catches her breath.

“Why don't you have a car, seeing that you leave so far from the school?”

She doesn't look like the tired person she claimed to be, but I didn't point it out.

I smiled shyly, “I have one, but my parents prefer to drive me wherever I want to go, so it hasn't been a problem until now.”

She nodded knowingly at that, “if that's the case, why are we now walking home?” she asked the obvious.

“Well, I must have lied a little about the time I will be off for school, my mom is probably getting ready to come to pick me up from school” I smirked" but she doesn't know her adored son is walking home from school. She and dad will most likely have a heart attack if they're to see me now.”

“Why did you lie about the time you are supposed to get off from school?” Bianca frowned.

I smirked, “am rather bored with waiting for my parents to take me to and fro from school.  I Am eighteen, for God's sake, I can't rely on them forever. What if I move to Seattle, miles from them, how are they going to make sure am driven to my destination?”

"Miguel Christian Franklin, what in God's name are you doing?!!”

“Oh, oh,” I blanch, "the mother caught me in the act”.
