Chapter 12

Damien’s Pov

“Our mate’s been kidnapped!”

That was the only thing ringing on my mind as I mind linked my beta Richard, meet me at the intersection.

I don’t wait to hear his reply as I cut the connection.

Daniel was right behind me as I ran without a care of the world. I know I denied having feelings for my mate, but come on, I was just joking.

I swear to the goddess whoever did this to my mate will not live to reel the tale.

“our mate," Daniel corrects.

I don’t have the time for his senseless arguments.

Only when I see my mate safe and sound will I have time for his arguments.

Donald was already waiting for us at the boundary between our park and Akuru pack.

Dess the Alpha was a friend of our father before his untimely demise.

“Are you sure this is where you felt him the most?”

It’s difficult to believe Dess is capable of kidnap, he was the one that literally raised us when our parents passed away.

“Yeah, I felt his struggle."

we looked at the floor that was splattered with blood.

“it’s not his, I checked." Donald answered my unasked question.

I don’t know what will become of us if our mate dies, what I know is that the culprit wouldn’t go unpunished.

“Are you really sure he was kidnapped? maybe he took a walk and returned another way?"

I don’t want to think of his kidnap, who knows he’s probably at home taking a late nap.

“I thought so too until I saw this."  he raised a cub up, on it was a little drop of blood.

Smelling it my eyes turned yellow, my wolf struggling to be let out to hunt those that hurt his mate.

“Damien, calm down we can’t afford to have our mind clouded with blood lust. Our mate is somewhere relying on us to get him out of his predicament. We need to move asap before it’s too late."  Donald held me as I struggled to be let loose, the validity of his words washed over me as I tried to calm my raging wolf.

Daniel took a step towards Dess’s territory, but Donald stopped him.

“you and I both know the consequences of crossing a pack boundary. We can’t afford a confrontation with the Alpha, we can find another way to get to him that doesn’t warrant breaking pack rules."

I nodded at his words, Donald have always been our solid ground whenever we’re in a predicament.

Mom always jokes that’s without Donald, we will lose our sense of reasoning.

“Alpha, there’s a situation at Luna’s house,"  Richard’s voice came through our mind link.

"What situation?”

there was a pause before he answered.

“his mom is trying to call in the cops."

I cursed out loud which made my brothers turn towards me in surprise.

Why won’t they be?

am the insecure do good brother who never cusses.

“What are you doing now?” my brothers were all tuned in to the conversation.

“Am on my way to his house, Delight and Bianca are already there, but it seems the situation in hand is beyond their control."

“Ok, keep her occupied till I arrive. What of the father?” handling the mother is a piece of cake so long as the husband isn’t present.

“Elder Cornelius is keeping him occupied. He won’t be home till 9, I think."

Elder Cornelius is Nice’s father,he’s a supervisor at the hospital Miguel’s father is working in.

“Ok good, make sure he stays there till we find our mate."

I can feel his protest,l “but Alpha_”

“don’t worry, I will take it up from here."

I closed the mental barrier, shutting him and his protests out.

“What are we going to do now since it’s obvious we can’t barge into his territory without his prior notice."

Daniel was fuming as he stormed towards the direction we came from.

“We need to reassure his mother of his safety, maybe lie a little to prevent her from freaking out and calling the cops on us. "

it will catastrophic, we’ve managed to keep our town a secret from others, for almost a millennium the only non werewolves to grace our community is Miguel and his parents.

We sent a letter of request for transfer to the hospital his father was working on, in order to get him and his family here. Donald was the one who came into contact with our mate when he went for an all Alphas meeting.

“Why will she call the cops here?” Daniel always the dumb fella asked.

 Come to think of it, there’s no way a cop can find our hidden territory, you have to be sure of where you’re going to be able to locate our town, but she doesn’t know that and she might get suspicious if the cops she called don’t arrive in record time.

“She’ve been looking for her son for the past two hours and you’re asking why she’s trying to call the cops. if you were to be in her shoes what would you have done?” he shrugged.

“I guess I would have panicked."

Leaving the forest behind we walked towards his house “what are we going to tell his mother?”

Dennis asked when we were almost near his patio.

“I guess Donald will make one up when it’s time."

I glanced at the silent nerd, he the one who’s more closer to our mate than me and Daniel.

He was the one who found and secretly protected our mate when he was in Oklahoma.

“ He always does, I don’t know what we would have done if he’s not with us."

I nodded in agreement, Donald have always being and will always be our strong tower.

He’s not only our brain power, he’s also our go to man“the goddess knows all."

All through our conversation, Donald never altered a word, I guess he’s thinking of possible ways to get to our mate faster, if I know him well, he’s already mapped out route for us.

We’re not sure if our mate’s in Dess’s territory, it wouldn’t hurt to check since his scent leads directly to his territory.

Miguel’s mom was pacing in the front porch with Bianca, it always amuses me how easily Bianca gets familiar with others.
