Miguel's pov
"How are my in-laws?" mom asked like she does every other day I return from school.
Most times am left to actually wonder if they're more important than me.
Why she asks about them instead of asking how my school day went makes me jealous of them.
"You should go and ask them. Why will you ask me?" I roll my eyes at my mother turned traitor.
"i don't see anything wrong in asking about my future son inlaws Miguel," she walks towards me "you should get used to the fact I care about my son inlaws the same way I care about you."
"They're not your son inlaws yet mom," I drop my bag on the chair " they haven't yet gotten married to me."
"I don't care son," she turns towards the door when someone rang the doorbell "oh am sure it's my visitors," she smiled at me "please check them while I dish out the foods I made for them," she chuckles.
"That's odd, " I shake my head at that.
Mother seldom have visitors, not to talk of having one in this town. It's really quite suspicious.
" Good afternoon," I smiled the moment I opened the door, but when my eyes lighted on the people behind the door, my smile froze.
"Your mom invited us, hope it's okay?" Donald smiled when he says this words.
Seeing them made my heart skip beats, but I comported myself. I don't wnay them to know how affected I am by them.
I nod "you're free to enter, mom is waiting for you." I walk inside leaving the door open in invitation.
"Mom am going up to my room, you can call me down when you need me!" I shout, taking my bag from the chair I kept it on, I walked past the kitchen.
"Aren't you joining us for lunch?" mom questions.
"No I'll heed upstairs, I have enough assignments to last me a life time. " I fake groaned.
" You can join us whenever you want to have an escape from assignment world," mom gives me an open invitation.
" Thanks mom, but I don't think I will take you up on that."
I walked up to my room despite my heart and entire body begging to be down there with the males that makes me soar.
The only part of my body that actually supports my decision of waiting for the elapse of the month I gave them is my mind. The entire body wants to go done there.
For hours now; okay, I did highly exaggerate that, it's being like thirty minutes( I kept checking the time) since I came up here, and their laughter is making me regret my decision of coming up here instead of being downstairs with them.
Who knows what exactly they're talking about? what exactly is making them laugh so loudly I can hear the laughter from my room?
"No, I won't go down," I shake my head to prevent any thoughts of going downstairs to filter into my head.
I picked up my survival assignment book. This subject confused me when I started schooling newly, but now am not as confused as I was then.
I now know exactly why they teach stuffs about survival in highschool. They're wolves and their safety is prominent for their survival.
Reading the said assignment proved abortive since I can still hear their laughter, and if I say it isn't itching, will be making myself a liar.
"Scratch that," I said minutes later when reading proves to be difficult since my entire body have gotten attuned to their voices.
"Mom, I don't feel alright," I rubbed my eyes, faking Innocence.
" What's wrong with you?"
" is there anything the matter?"
" what's that?"
the three of them said simultaneously as they stood up to walk towards me, but a glare from me stopped them dead in their tracks.
Mom gives me a look "you could have said you got bored of staying in your room all by yourself instead of lying about your health.
Now you've gotten my future sons in-laws bothered for no reason at all," she narrows her eyes in anger.
" Am I not your son, why will you treat others better than you treat me?" I pout, taking a seat opposite her taking great pain in making sure I don't sit close to the trips.
My mind is seconds from jumping off my chest and into their awaiting hands, and I can't have that.
"You should act like a good son Miguel. You've had my love all to yourselves this many days, allow me to shower my new sons with some love. How lucky I am to have sons like them." She smiled at her so called sons.
"You flatter us mom," Donald smiles "we're really the ones who should be proud of having a mother like you; you're truly the best."
" We're really humbled to have someone like you as a mother. You're truly a mother," Daniel winks.
" Don't mention it my lovelies," she smiles at Damien " Damien is always the silent sweetheart, aren't you?"
" Mom, am hungry," I whined to get her attention on me.
" Get your own food yourself, young man, can't you see am having a chat with my new sons?" She glares at me, her dark look rivalling that of Medusa's.
"You served them right? you should serve me also. You know we I can't serve myself, you're the one who've always dished out my food."
" So tell me," she turns her face towards them " what're your plans for my son?" She looks at me with an indescribable look "he's already planning to leave for Seattle after his school year."
She says the word Seattle like it's dirt under her feet.
"We're hoping we will be enough reasons for him to stay behind," Damien said "who knows if we will convince him enough to make him forget about leaving for Seattle?"
Mom gives me a disapproving look " he doesn't seem to know something good when he sees it. He's as bias as his father."
" Mom you can't keep talking about me like am not here," I frown.
" He's really set in going to Seattle, you three need to top up your seduction techniques high," she sadly shakes her head " if he were to be female, I would have given you a suggestion."
