Miguel's pov
"Your entertainment is top notch Miguel. Am floored at the awesome reception you gave me."
He said sarcastically.
"I don't have all the time in the world Aiden. I really need to sleep, and you're preventing me from doing so."
The more I kept standing there, the more sleepy I get till I felt like I will fall to the ground of care's not taken.
"Why haven't you being to work for two days?" Aiden asked when he saw i wasn't going to ask him in.
Seeing as I stood between the door, it's quite obvious that am not planning on asking him in. I might do that on a day I don't have a splitting headache.
"I've been having a little fever for two days now."
Thinking of it now made me suspiciously look at him "are you sure you didn't add anything to my ice cream when you gave it to me?"
I never thought of the possibility I got the splitting headache from his house since it started a day after I went there.
He laughed " why will I want to poison you Miguel?" he slowly caressed my face " you're too special for me tp do that. "
I look up at him and we locked eyes, but I felt nothing from it.
My heart didn't beat as it does when I lock eyes with my mates, neither did my stomach get filled with butterflies with fluttering wings.
I just felt nothing. No emotion at all. If anything, I felt hollow.
I felt a longing for my mates who are not here with me. Mates I still reach out for at night.
"Miguel?" he shook me.
"What's it?" I blinked up at him.
"You just zoomed out on me. One minute you were with me, and the next you're looking at me with hollow eyes."
I forced a smile " we will see at work tomorrow. We can talk then, for now I want to sleep," I turned to go, but he held on to my hand.
"Take this. I bought it for your babies," he hands me a shopping bag "we will see tomorrow when you come to work. I will be there waiting for you."
" Thank you," I genuinely smiled at him before locking the door.
" Check what is in there. He says he bought it for the babies," I drop the shopping bag on the table and made to walk back to my room.
"Wait," mom stood up and walked towards me "I saw this letter on the floor when I went to open the door for Aiden. It's for you," she placed it on my hand.
" Who's is from?" I curiously peer at the letter that was clearly addressed to me.
"I don't know. I saw the letter on the floor like I said. I don't know who sent it or how it got to be here," she took the shopping bag I dropped on the table, and walked back to the chair she was seating on when I came in.
I took the letter into my room, thinking to read it when I lie down, but the moment my head touched the pillow, I drifted off to sleep.
*
I woke up late in the evening, and that was when I read the letter on the table.
Miguel,
If you've gotten this letter by now, know we're at the outskirt of the town waiting for you.
We know we don't deserve to send this letter to you, but it's a source of emergency.
Please endeavour to meet us when you get this letter. Lives are at stake, we need to take drastic step and measure when doing things.
I know you might not want to see us, but please we ask that you hear us out before you go back to hating us.
We will be at the outskirt of the town for two days, please endeavour to meet us before we leave. Alone.
The Triplets.

I turn the letter back and front to check if I somehow missed the place they mentioned my babies, but there was nothing of that sort.
They didn't ask about their babies, and they asked to meet with me alone?
Are they here to reconcile with me ?
If so why did they not ask to see their babies?
Maybe they don't know I've given birth already, I don't think anyone told them of my safe delivery of two beautiful babies.
If they still thought I was pregnant, why didn't they ask about my health like concerned mates will do when sending a letter to a mate they've not seen in almost a year.
There was nothing like that in the letter. The letter juts went straight to the point without much beating about the bush. I won't be surprised to know Daniel was the one who sent the letter.
Donald says the truth, but he sugarcoats most things while Damien sugarcoats it all.

"Miguel, why are you picking your food? have the headache still not abated?" mom asked in concern.
We're having dinner of fried rice with mushrooms. The babies haven taken their evening bath are currently sleeping in their cot.
Babies who are ignorant of the fact their fathers are few miles away from then, yet didn't for once ask of them?
"They were the ones who sent the letter to me," I told mom who might be silently dying to know the content of the letter I was sent, but was starting not to act all that concerned about stuffs and all.
"What did they want?"
Mom asked in anger.
It's really funny I didn't say who sent the letter to me, bit mom somehow knew it was my mates.
I told her the entire content of the letter. Leaving nothing out of it.
"Are you going to go see them?" mom asked with an expressionless face.
She obviously doesn't want to influence my decision concerning my mates.
She wants anything I decide to be solely my idea.
