Miguel's pov
The forest parted, and in its place are buildings. When we looked back, there were building round us.
"I could have sworn we were driving in a thick forest. How then did these buildings appear? " mom looked round in awe.
I didn't answer her questions, neither did I acknowledge the strangeness of the town we found ourselves in.
I was far gone in my grief to pay attention to anything that's not my mates.
Too far gone to know exactly where we're going, or care about it.

"That's why we have few people that aren't from our town here. The town chooses whom to reveal itself with.
It opens up for the pure in heart, those with no I'll intention towards us."

It have been two days since I went to Aiden's house. Two days of thinking on most of the things he told me.
Aiden according to what he told me is the chief of the village, and have been so for five years since his father the then chief died.
" Miguel, someone is here to see you," Mom walked into my room carrying a sleeping Lijah in her Bossom.
Nabel might be in her baby car since that's where mother places any of the bay she isn't carrying.
"Who's that?" I stayed still on the bed, not even trying to rise from the bed.
Apart from Mond and Solomon, I don't know of any who would look for me.
"i don't know, but he looks to be of this town." Mother walked out of the room.
Of this town?
The only person I know who's from this town is Aiden, and aware he don't know my house.
I made sure not to allow him escort me home when he requested he do so.
Whoever it might be, they can stay out for as long as they want,I don't care about it.
I stayed on the bed as I tried to sleep.
i Owe the people of this town nothing, and the owe me nothing. I don't care why they will want to come here to visit me.
My sleep right now is far more important to me than whoever might be at the door right now.
"Miguel!" Mom walks in to my room, her face clouded in anger "don't tell me you plan on staying in here without knowing who it was that's looking for you?" mom raised a brow.
"I don't care who it might be,"
If the person isn't my mates, why should I then car about them?
"Do you think it easy to visit someone in there home?" she raised a brow in question.
"Do you think it's easy to answer to the said person's house call?"
I don't know why mother thinks we have an obligation towards our visitors.
" Last I checked, I wasn't expecting anyone, and I don't care who the impromptu visitor might be," I fully relaxed on my bed.
To hell with the visitor who thought to interrupt my sleep.
For two days now, I've not been to work because am sick.
I've been having constant headache that have refused to stop ever since it started.
Despite the medicines I've taken, the headache still doesn't want to pack its loads and go from my body.
"The person said their name is Aiden," mother said at last.
"Aiden?" I blink in surprise "why will Aiden visit me? or better yet, how did he find my house?"
Have he resorted to stalking?
Is that his next line of action?
"I don't know the answers to your questions, but he might have."
Even knowing who it was that visited me, I was still reluctant to leave my comfortable bed.
I don't have the time to walk to the door, neither do I have the strength to entertainment visitors.
Mom walked out when she saw I wasn't ready to stand from my bed.
Aiden?
Why is he here?
Is he here to relay a message from the village to me?
I asked questions upon questions without having a straight answer to the questions, and the only way to get answers is to go out there and meet Aiden, and that's what I did.
"I was really having second thoughts on whether you will come or not," Aiden smiled when he saw me
"How did you find out where I live?" I glare at him.
"Your warm welcome embarrasses me Miguel. Never have I visited a person as receptive as you are." He smiled as he said those words.
I cringed inwardly at his words, but made no move to show how embarrassed I am about what I did.
"How did you find out where I live?" I asked again, giving him a once over as I did so.
Today he's putting on dark washed jeans, and loose dress shirt.
"Am the chief remember?" Aiden raised a brow "how can I not know where you live when you live in town?"
His words made me feel like a fool for not thinking about things like this.
" Does that mean you know each and everyone who lives in this town? you know their names and everything about things?"
He can't possibly mean he knew about me but pretended not to do so.
"I might not know the names of everyone in this town that's not a member, but I know the number of people who live here. I know where each and everyone lives, and where they walk.
It's my duty as the chief of the town to know things that's happening in my town."
I nodded at his words because the explanation he gave really sounds plausible.
"Why are you here then?"
I don't have all the time in this world for entertainment. I really do want to sleep.
I feel like my brain is cracking from both the lack of sleep, fatigue and headache.
I've taken the medicines mother gave me, but it still isn't enough to make me feel normal. I feel like my head is going to crack into two.
