Miguel's pov
They're too innocent to be hearing of such things as sacrifice, blood and flesh, " he gives me a disapproving look " I don't condone such acts, especially when kids are involved. "
I opened and closed my mouth in confusion " you were the one who mentioned flesh and blood, why are you acting like am the one who said those in the first place? "
Wasn't that what he Said, or didn't I hear him right when he spoke?
"Have a seat, I get water for you. We will talk over tea, hope you take it?"
I know it's not advisable to eat anything in a place as strange as this, but am fat gone beyond normal human reasoning.
If he had Wanted to kill me, he would have done that already.
There's no reason for wasting enough time as he have already.
"Do you have juice, or somehow have ice cream?" since there's a television here, there should be a fridge somewhere.
" Okay," he says before disappearing into a place that's obviously the kitchen.
I looked around his room for the second time. Slowly taking in every little detail of his house. Starting from locating a little tear on his carpet to seeing how old the wood used to make the stool actually is.
Little details as this are always overlooked a first, but when you carefully look round the second time, you will notice those things.
Nabel stirred awake from sleep, and I carried her to avoid her waking her brother with her cries.
Waking him up will put me at a disadvantage because I can't carry the both, and I don't trust Aiden enough to allow him carry baby.
Nabel looked up at me, and I could have sworn she smiled at me when we locked eyes.
"Aren't you such a pretty little damsel?" I gently tapped on her small nose that looks so much like mine.
She made a bubbling sound, one that suspiciously sounds like her agreement to my words. She must also think herself pretty like I do.
"You think you're pretty?" I raised a brow at her "aren't you becoming a bit vain young lady?"
She sure will be a heartbreaker when she grows up.
"They must have taken after their father's with their blue eyes, "
Aiden's voice startled me from the land of discussion. A land I travelled to with my little pretty baby.
"Yes," I answered in a clipped voice.
I don't want to talk about my mates with someone I've not known for long, neither do I trust.
"Here's your chocolate ice cream. Am sorry I wasted a little time there, I was trying to make tea for myself."
He raised his cup to better make the point known to me.
"You have chocolate ice cream?" I raised my brow in question.
I never did peg him as someone who takes chocolate.
He looks down in embarrassment. His cheeks more redder than squished tomatoes.
"i might have gotten three when I went to the other town because I was hoping you will one day visit my house."
" You were preparing for a visit you Know I might not make?"
I felt really touched he thought of my visit even knowing I might not come.
He shrugs " most times it's the hope of the best coming that makes us do things." He took a sip from his drink " fire off with your questions. I promise to answer to the best of my abilities."
I can't believe I forgot the key reason am currently here. Momentarily forgetting something as Important as that.
"What are you?"
The start of an interrogation room is to know who the person you're interrogating actually is, that's the only way to know how best to approach things.
"Not who are you?" he laughed "you're really cutting to the chase, aren't you?
Well to answer your question, am what is considered as an Ilumea in order words some call us witches."
He drops the bombshell without further sugarcoating the words.
"You're a witch?" I blink at him "I thought women are witches while males are wizards?"
At least that's what I've read in stories, and I know you can't classify real life to those fantasy lies we were told.
He smiled "am not a witch, am an Ilumea. There's a great difference between an Ilumea and a witch. I only made use of the Witch classification because that's something you're more familiar with."
I nod at his explanation.
"An Ilumea isn't human, neither are we gods. We're in the middle, and that's the reason most refers to us as demi gods.
An Ilumea possesses both the powers of the gods and that of Witches.
Ilu means the life spring of the gods whole Mea means forged in fire, tried by time.
It means we're the life spring of the gods forged in fire and tried by time."
Hmmmm.
This is really interesting.
" Why are you on Earth if you truly are demigods?"I don't think any demigod will want to spend their days on this bleak Earth.
He smiled "we live here because it's out abode. This was the place our ancestors took possession of when we were sent from the place we took our abode before.
As beings who live more than other beings,we prefer seclusion. That was why we have few visitors in our town.
The few that entered are the ones the spirits guilding out town permitted in.
No one who haven't been permitted in knows the secrets housed in the supposed forest."
His words made me recall something that happened when mother and I were coming for the first time into this town.
When it happened, mother and I were reluctant to acknowledge that something strange did happen.
We were directed to this town by an old man we met on our way out of Haji park.
But the more mother drove into the supposed town, the more the forests kept on looming overhead until something strange happened.
