Miguel's pov
"You read something like that but couldn't be bothered to tell us?" Mond raised a brow at him.
" I never came to the conclusion that Miguel have now. I never did logically place it. Am really sorry I never talked of it until now. It haven't crossed my mind to think on the similarities between it all." Aiden looked really nervous.
Trust Mond to make a person feel like they've committed a crime worse than death.
"There's nothing to be sorry for Aiden. We don't blame you for not telling us of it's appearance in your ancient scripts, " Solomon smiled, albeit tightly.
" We don't have much time to blame one another Mond. All we have to do is try and find a way to put an end to the things happening. "
We need to get to the root of the matter before the one sending those things finds a way to get to me without the barrier stopping them.
"That's true," they all concurred.
We talked for hours, but was unable to find the solution to what's happening around us.
"Recently, there have been some wolf sighting," Aiden said all of a sudden.
We stilled at his words.
"Is there anything wrong in wolf sighting?" I asked when I saw Solomon and Mond aren't ready to ask that. They look to be deeply frozen in either fear or whatever.
Aiden shrugs " I as an Ilumea doesn't care about wolves and other animals, but majority of the Ilumeas don't like wolves at all."
That means none have discovered Mond and. Solomon are wolves.
" That means the sighting is a bad thing? " I asked to be sure am correctly hearing what he's saying.
"To an Ilumea , it's a sign of war. Most of the Ilumeas are in panic over the presence of both the mornings mist and the wolves sighting.
They think they have something in common."
" Have you see the wolves? can you tell of the fur colours? " could it bey mates are the ones who were sported?
" I've not seen any of the wolves, and the ones who have claims they moved faster than normal wolves. Meaning they might truly be making use of dark magic. "

My mind was occupied with the words we heard from Aiden.
Does that mean my life is being targeted by wolves? if that's the case, I have to be more careful.
"Do you think Aiden knows we're wolves?" Mond asked .
"I don't think so. Based on what he told us about Ilumeas and wolves, I don't think they would have allowed you entrance into their town, talk more of allowing you build a library."
They would have sent them running with their tails tucked between their legs.
"That's true. I don't think they're aware they have more than two wolves in here."
It's more of a speculation, but Solomon thinks my babies are wolves, but we're yet to see.
According to them, wolves starts showing their traits when they're five years of age, and that's a long time from now.
"Had they known, I don't think they would have sent us packing. If anything they will makes our hides into coats."
Mond shivered as he said so.
" Don't say those words in the presence of little babies. Do you want to corrupt their ears?" Solomon glared at Mond " I teach them the good things children ought to know, but you like spoiling it!"
" I did no such thing, you're the one who doesn't know how best to treat little babies like Nabel."
Watching the two banter back and forth made me remember my days back at Haji park.
Days I thought won't get any worse, but I counted my chicks before they're gully hatched.

I slowly walked home after work, taking great care not to take the route that leads deeper into the town for fear of the repetition of what happened a month ago.
The people of this town might be a bit receptive to me because of their chief who they love, but they don't agree with me freely roaming the street.
"You could have asked me to escort you home Miguel," Aiden smiled.
"I don't want to disturb you Aiden, and moreover my house isn't that a far from my work place."
" Even though, I would have loved to escort you home," he expertly takes the stroller from my hand " I can't allow you walk this streets alone knowing there's a stranger lurking close to the shadows."
I smiled " thanks for that."
" It's a Pleasure Miguel," he turned to the silently babbling babies " hi Nabel, hi Lijah."
The babies made a little noise as if greeting him back.
" I've never seen babies a cute as yours, I guess they took after their daddy," he winked.
I wanted to tell him they mainly took after their fathers but instead I gave him a nod " I think they do."
" So what do you say, we grab dinner tomorrow?" he looked hopefully at me.
His expression like that of a puppy begging to stay close to its owner.
The smile in my face froze when I heard his words. As much as I like Aiden as a friend, I can't bear to lead him on.
"I can't Aiden. "
If the dinner was a friendly one, I would have accepted his invitation, but am well aware of it not being as friendly dinner.
Aiden haven't kept his admiration of me a secret. Mom is even aware of it, and I bet my babies knows of it too.
He looked down as he walked " why can't you at least go out with me for once? get to properly know me before you decide against dating me?"
Am afraid I won't even like you even if I get to know you Aiden. My mates have spoiled other men for me. I don't think I can like another who's not my mates.
I don't think I will be comfortable with any male who's not the fathers of my babies.
"Am sorry Aiden."
