Miguel's pov
It's been a week since the we decided to fight against whatever it is that's sending those things towards me.
"We seem to be running in circles with what's happening around us, " Mond sighed.
" It seems the more we try to uncover what's happening, the more we get sucked into what's happening, " Solomon agrees.
"I think the person doing all this personally knows me,"
I cradle a sleeping Lijah.
Mond seldom allows me to carry Nabel whenever he's around. He claimed it's his duty as an uncle to take care of her and her wellbeing.
"I've thought on that based on the letters you've been getting. The person know who you are."
*
He knows who I am.
The thoughts kept on reverberating in my mind.
"Miguel what's wrong? you seem to be really out of it for a week or so now," Mom looked at me on concern.
" It's nothing mom. There's no cause to be alarmed at anything," I forced a smile at her.
" You can't fool me with your smiles Miguel. Am your mother, and I alone knows when you're happy. What's wrong with you?" she Frowned.
" Mom there's nothing wrong with me. Am okay," I drank my juice.
" Miguel, what's wrong with you?" she asked again. This time more sternly than the previous.
How can I tell her of the strange things happening here?
Telling her of the things happening is the same thing as making her worried, and that's not something I will want for her.
Mother have gone through enough for me, and I don't want to add more to her.
"Am thinking of my boyfriends,"
It's not a full lie because I've been recently thinking on their reactions when Mond touched me.
The reactions they gave was enough to make me know they really care about me, and that got me thinking.
Why are they doing all this things if they care for me?
Mom sighed when she heard my words "they're not worthy of your love Miguel. They don't deserve anything you give. "
"I don't think they're the ones who doesn't deserve me, am the one who doesn't deserve them."
I don't deserve them at all.
Mom lightly slapped me on my cheeks "I won't stand here listening to you degrade yourself like you're doing now Miguel.
You're not the one who doesn't deserve them, they're the ones who are not Worthy of your love Miguel."
Mom paced the floor in anger " what even gave you the mentality of these stupid thoughts?" she Frowned.
I don't believe her words are true. Have I been deserving of them, I don't think they would have left me.
I don't think they would have abandoned me with their babies. I truly don't deserve them at all.
"Just look at yourself Miguel. You're the one they don't deserve."
I still don't believe they don't deserve me. I mean look at them, with eyes as blue as the sea, hair as white as snow, no one deserve them.
Not even I as their mates deserve them. I don't at all.

For two days now, I've not received any of the PRESENT sent by the still unknown person.
It have been two days of silence.
Today's of not waking up to see the dead things on my window.
Right now, am having a really hard time believing there was a time those things were sent.
It really feels like a dream. One am glad I've finally woken up from.
"There have to be a reason why he haven't sent anything." Mond said when I told them of the strangeness of two days.
"Do you think he's bidding his time before he finally strikes?" Solomon who was arranging the books asked.
"That should be the case. It's the only reasonable explanation to what's happening now."
"So far, it's been two days of calm. Two days of total silence."
Lying apart, I slept really soundly today.
" That's the calm before the storm Miguel. There's something he's planning. We have to be on guard about things" Aiden said.
" We need to be extremely careful about things. At least when he was sending those things, we're aware of his actions, but now he've gone back to being mysterious. " Solomon said with all seriousness, making me Burst out in Laughter.
" What's it Miguel? why are you laughing? " Aiden looked at me as if I've somehow grown another pair of heads.
" You're all talking of being in guard and all those things when we're not even aware of what's actually happened.
Tell me Aiden. How do you propose we stay on guard for something wave not yet gotten to the root of?"
There's a saying about the ocean being unable to drown a person who it didn't see the leg of.
Meaning youp can't stay in your house and get drown by the ocean.
"There's a hypothesis I've gotten from all this things. The person sending those dead things really wants to kill me, but is not able to do so because of the said powers guilding this town.
The animals he sends weren't killed here, they've been killed already before he sent them through the mist."
I got this deduction when I thought of the parcels sent here.
The same way those parcels were sent, that's the exact way those hideous things were sent.
"You mean to tell me he can send those things, but he can't kill anything here?" Mond looked at me as if I've somehow solved one of the mysteries of the world.
"That's true. Think of it this way, why haven't he done anything to harm me despite the threats in his letters?"
There was a day I stupidly left my window open, and in the morning I noticed bloodied fingerprints on the side of my open window, yet there was no harm done to me.
Aside from those marks on the bed, ther was none inside my room.
"That's true," Aiden concurred " I can recall reading something of that sort in our ancient scripts."
