Miguel's pov
I looked after him as he walked away before turning my focus to the brown envelope.
What will that be, and why did he say my mates weren't aware he kept it?
I look at the envelope in question. My eyes fastened on it.
Who knows what this envelope might contain?

I slowly walked back to the house I once lived with my parents.
Mom was waiting for me on the door when I came to a stop in front of our building.
"Miguel!" she ran towards me.
"Mom," I let go of the stroller and hugged her. My heart becoming really relived to see her.
"You're okay?" she touched my face. " I was on my way to get you back from those bastards. " She looked ready to march to my mates' house and give them a piece of her mind.
" Am okay. " I smiled at her. " More okay now you're here. "

Mom drew another bath for me and gave my baby another bath. Her reason being she wants to bath the vile of the Alphas' house out of us.
I placed the envelope on the table. My intent on checking it out when am opportuned. Right now all I want to do is spend sometime with mother.
I've missed her more than I thought I will ever do.
I've missed her motherly love and her smiles.
"Aiden was really heartbroken when he came back. For days, he sat on front of his fire place looking out to nothing." Mom placed a steaming mug of coffee in front of me.
I've really missed drinking coffee. Back at Aiden's town, it wasn't something that can be easily procured.
"I had to let him go mother. He deserves someone who doesn't have enough baggage as I."
Aiden deserves someone who will truly love him, and not a person like me whose heart and soul have being captured by the three Alphas of Haji pack.
"He's such a darling, and he would have treated you well Miguel. He would have been far more better than the fathers of you babies."
" Your words might be true mother, but I feel nothing for him."
I love him like one does a friend, and that's all.
Being with him will end up frustrating us more than it will make us happy.
"You still love those bastards?" mom said in anger. Her face fuming. " You still love those who abandoned you when you needed them the most? those who didn't give you a backward glance when they left you and your babies?"
" I might still love them mother, but I don't plan on being together with them. I will leave this town in a day or two time, and when I leave, I don't plan on returning."
Manuel is no more.
I got no enemy as of now.
"You're going back to him?" Mom gives me a hopeful expression.
I can tell she wants me to be happy, but I know I can't be happy, at least not with Aiden.
"I can't do that to him mother. "
I can't destroy him like my mates did to me. I won't allow another person pass through the hurt I passed through in the hands of my mates.

With my babies fed and already asleep, I walk back to my room.
Mother have insisted she sleep with them in her room because she've serious missed them, and based on the smile Lijah and Nabel gave her when they woke up. It shows they equally missed her.
Father wasn't yet back from work. He might be back tomorrow if opportuned.
Walking into my room, I sat on the bed. My gaze fastened on the envelope on the table.
Should I check it out?
Should I leave it?
i sat there debating on what to do until my curiosity took the best of me, and I decided to open it up.
If I don't open it to check its contents, I will forever blame myself for not checking it out.
Taking the envelope, I tore through it.
Pieces of papers scattered on my bed.
What's all this?
I look at the papers.
Picking one up, I was surprised to see a writting identical to that of Donald.
The familiar handwriting made me aware it's Manuel's.
This was exactly how the writting on the letter sent to me at Aiden's town was.
I read through the letter, but I couldn't make out the meaning of the letter.
I've found him.
Those were what was written on the paper.
He've found who?
I scattered the papers, and slowly read the letters until I came to one I think was the first one sent.
"You're probably wondering on this,
don't be.
Manuel's not dead. Am alive."
I read the letters.
My eyes widening in disbelief when I read through them all. The threats, the messages and all those things.
The more I read those letters, the more I became aware my mates weren't lying when they told me they were threatened by Manuel.
The letters showed all he did, and how planned his actions was.
The last letter sent was,
"Your babies are with me.
If you agree on a mating ceremony,
I will give them back to you.
Safe and sound asleep."
I bet he sent this letter when he kidnapped me. This was before he drugged my babies with the sleeping pills.
I sat there, shocked by the realization I was wrong.
Manuel was lying when he said my mates were willing to be with him.
He was lying when he talked of how eager they were to be tied with him through the mating ceremony.
I can't believe I called my mates liars when Manuel was all along the lair here.
Even in death, Manuel still found a way to separate me from my mates. He still found a way to keep us from each other.
I packed the letters back in the torn envelope, and placed it back on the table.
