Miguel's pov
The entire place was dark. Do dark I can't make anything out.
What's this place?
I asked myself as I tried to make out the place am in, but it wasn't possible. The darkness made it an impossible feat.
Where are my?
I opened my eyes wide, but it seems as if I have my eyes closed. The darkness more darker than the darkest hour of dawn.
I tried to feel my way, but it seems as if am floating on air.
There was nothing below me, neither was there anything above or near me.
The air here was free. It wasn't suffocating at all, the only suffocating thing was the darkness.
I kept on walking aimlessly. My mind set on finding a place with light, but it wasn't possible.
My thoughts were obstructed. Aside from my need to find light, and know the place am in, there was no other thoughts in me mind. No thoughts whatsoever.
It feels as if am an entity surviving only on the air, and in search of the light out of wherever I am.
At the back of my mind is a nagging thought, one I can't make out what it is, but I have a strong conviction it's something urgent. Something worth remembering.
I got tired of trying to prob my mind. Tired of finding a way out of this place.
So tired of doing anything else but just exist in a place like this. A place without form or void.
I almost gave up all hope on things until I saw a white blinding light. The light was so bright I had to blink to get my eyes to fully adjust to its brightness.
The light made me actually see the place I was. It's like I imagined it. The place looks more like being in the sky. There was nothing beneath. There were only clouds around me.
What if I fall?
Despite my thoughts I kept on floating. Now I have the light with me, I can get really used to this place. Really used to floating from place to place.
There's nothing more I can request from this world. These were my thoughts before a piercing scream made me free fall.
"My babies!" I rose up from the bed I was lying on.
I looked around. My eyes which were already adjusted to the bright light from where I came from had no problem adjusting itself to the brightness of the room I found myself in.
"Where am I?" I look around the familiar room.
"You're awake," The Alphas came in. Daniel was feeding Lijah while Donald fed Nabel. Damien was carrying something on a tray.
My babies are finally awake?
They're alive?
"Give me my babies," I frown at them. My throat felt really parched. It must have been days since I drank anything liquid.
Looking at them made me feel things I don't want to ever feel for them.
"Have something to drink. You must be real thirsty, "Damien cautiously walked towards me.
" I don't want anything to do with your drink. Hand me back my babies, and we will be off this pack forever.
You won't hear from us ever again, and we won't disturb you."
I will take my kids back to Africa. At least we will be safe there.
Safe from those who might want to take up from where Manuel stopped.
"Please have a drink. It will help you a lot. Moreover our babies are feeding."
" Our?" I laughed. " Last I checked you all said you want nothing to do with them, why call them yours?" I slowly stood up from the bed.
I don't want to experience the dizziness I know will accompany me if am to rise up fast from the bed.
I need no help from them aside from the one they've rendered.
Now my babies are back the way they're supposed to be, all I have to do is take them to a safe place where they will grow up without the burden of being chased across the world.
"Please Miguel," Donald balanced a fully awake Nabel on his arms. Her blue eyes blinking at him as if trying to place his face.
" Give me back my babies," I took a step towards them, my intent on getting to my babies, but I couldn't take another step as the dizziness over took me.
I would have fallen to the floor if not for Damien who stopped my fall. His hand protectively holding on to me.
"Have a rest Miguel."
He guides me back to the bed, and I sat down as docile as I can muster. I will listen to their words for now.
I will gain my strength, and think of ways to leave this place, and find a place to go to.
The world is vast . There are many places a person can hide in without much detection.
I will have to find one of such places.
I allowed Damien place the tray of food on my laps. My eyes trained on my babies.
If only I have any strength in me now, we would have being half way off this town by now.
"Take something," Damien tried to feed me, but a glare from me made him drop his hand to his side.
"Agreeing to eat doesn't mean I want your filthy hands on the food am about to eat."
I first drank the entire content of water on the cup before facing my food.
I ate the food as fast as I can.
The food was really delicious, but I will be damned if I comment on it.
"Do you want more?" Damien looked really eager to please.
" Can I have my babies now?" I gesture for them to bring my baby to me.
"You need to really rest before you carry them," Donald said.
" Can I have my babies?!"
I narrow my eyes to a glare. My eyes if to be bullets would have gotten them killed instantly.
