"Abigail, you still sneak out at night for parties. I saw you yesterday and I had to distract your dad from finding out. I was so relieved when you got back."
I said and she rolled her eyes.
"I don't know why dad can't understand that I am old enough to do what I want. You all want me to get married in a few days time yet you can't allow me to get some breath of fresh air. Dad needs to rest on my case."
She mumbles.
"Sweetpie, you know that's not true. Your dad has your best interest at heart and he loves you. Sneaking out to parties is not an ideal thing to do. You are a princess for crying out loud. Learn to behave like one, Abigail."
"Mom I know but dad is taking it too far. I am going back to uncivilized country and I.am finding it hard on how I will be able to adapt to it, the least you guys should do for me now is to allow me to enjoy civilization before going back to the past because it is what it is"
She said with anger. I understand her though because I never wanted to live in the South and what we should have done when we found out that she was betrothed to the Southern prince, we would have gone back to South to bring her up or sent her to Gina. It never crossed our minds that this civilization stuff will become an issue for her. She had complained to me several times. I feel her pain
"I am sorry darling. I understand how you feel but there is nothing I can do about this issue and I would talk to your dad. If you want to enjoy your remaining days here partying or shopping I would make it happen. If it will calm your nerves."
I told her. She sighed.
"Mom, it will not make any difference. I will just find a way to live with it. I know at the end I will be alright. After all, who would not love to be the queen of the South?. It's been my dream."
I laughed at what she said. She knows how to lighten her mood up and despite her flaws, I love her like that.
"Alright then. We now have an understanding. Since you want to still sleep. Make sure to wake up before breakfast. Mom loves you"
I blew kisses to her and she received it in the air.
"Bye mom"
She screamed when I got to her door. I turned and smiled at her then closed the door.
Gracie point of view…..
I was settled inside the cab that was taking me to my new home. I felt the air hitting my skin. It was different from the ones from the woods. The city was so busy and people were going about their activities. I love the buzziness.
It's feels so nice leaving the environment.
"Ma'am, from the look on your face. You seem to be new in town. Your luggages and others says so."
The cab guy said which drew my attentions to him.
I smiled at him.
"Yes I am. Moving into town for the first time."
I replied and he looked shocked. Probably wondering where I have lived or maybe I am from another planet.
"You don't need to ask me where I have lived because I will not answer you"
I told him laughing and he relaxed then shook his head.
"I love your sense of humor. You are a nice person and I love you accent too."
That was the funniest things ever said to me today. I know I speak like everyone around.
"Thanks so much. I just hope to settle well and make new friends and face life. It's not going to be easy adapting to a new environment."
"First times are always like that. I admire you though and good tides will be with you"
I nodded at him.
Meeting someone who prayed for me after my mom did shows that my life will take a new dimension. I had a good feeling this morning and it is encouraging.
It's not just my mom anymore but the world. Life in the wood was just my mom and I but now, the world is included and I hope that my gift will not be an obstacle on my way. I am not normal like every other.
"It will be with you too. Blessings all round"
I prayed for him in my mind too.
