Test Of Sacrifice

The skill Gui Shan used was a mystery to even the masters. Although the both of them sourced the skills from internal Qi energy.

Gui Shan never knew he had such amount of Qi energy within him.

It was told to him that only wolf warrior's, and skilled master possess Qi.

Hu Mei surprised by the turn out of things quickly ordered one of his messengers to make an enquiry about Gui Shan and his master.

Unknowingly to them, Gui Shan doesn't have a physical master, but is secretly trained by grandmaster Hun Feng.

Everyone was amazed, even Bai Xing was shocked because it was his first time seeing someone not only withstand the 'soul dividing punch' but also held the attack.

Every master was having an eye on Gui Shan now.

After Bai Xing gave his attack, Gui Shan gave Bai Xing a punch Which sent him flying out of the ring.

Bai Xing sustained a bleeding nose from the punch given to him.

The match was as good as over, Gui Shan was declared the winner of that round.

So many cheered Gui Shan as beat the expectations of everyone.

To many of them, Gui Shan was the strongest competitor so far.

So many persons fought and about 20 persons qualified for the next phase of the test.

"Count yourself lucky to have passed the first test",

"And to the rest who didn't qualify, you are to leave the academy latest tomorrow morning", master Huang Ju Said.

"The qualifiers are to gather here tomorrow for the second test, you may now go to your dorms", he said as he dispersed them.

As they went to their dorm, some other qualifiers admired Gui Shan prowess which he hid the whole time.

Hu Mei was pissed off seeing that Gui Shan beat his expectations.

He angrily left with his escorts. Meanwhile, Bi Yao went to Gui Shan and apologized for her misconduct the first time.

"You're really amazing, I admire your skills", Bi Yao said as she chuckled.

Gui Shan felt high that evening. Ru Yuo was so happy that he made it.

Although Tang Tang wasn't taken unaware since he had seen Gui Shan in action.

"Gui Shan, you never told me you possessed Qi energy", Tang Tang said.

"I'm as surprised as you are, guess I'm just lucky", Gui Shan said.

They bade each other farewell as they went to their dorms.

Bi Yao went together with Ru Yuo as they headed for the female dorm. While Gui Shan and Tang Tang headed for the male dorm.

The next day came.

All the twenty qualifiers of the first round assembled at meeting point.

The qualifiers include;

'Gui Shan', 'Jin Xu',

'Tang Tang', 'Yu Xuan',

'Bi Yao', 'Mao Li',

'Hu Mei', 'Ru Yuo',

'Xu Gong', 'Wan Fei', including some others.

The participants stood right there anticipating what form the next test would take.

Principal Ming and the masters of the various wings were also present.

One of the masters stepped forward, he was Lin Fei, master of the 'Silver eagles wing'.

"Good morning to you all",

"I'm glad you all made it this far, but mind you, as you advance, the test becomes difficult", master Lin Fei said.

He told them that there are some possible dangers they maybe exposed to.

He then stated that anyone was free to voluntarily withdraw as the next test was a life factor.

About two participants withdrew, stating that the can't bargain with their life.

"The next test has some risk, when you get there you would understand better", he said.

The rest eighteen participants murmured within themselves what it would be like, but they were interrupted by master Lin Fei's voice.

"You would be paired in groups of two for the next test as we proceed for the Zhewu realm", he said.

They were paired as follows;

Team 1: 'Gui Shan and Jin Xu',

Team 2: 'Tang Tang and Yu Xuan',

Team 3: 'Bi Yao and Mao Li',

Team 4: 'Hu Mei and Ru Yuo',

Team 5: 'Xu Gong and Wan Fei'

Team 6: ...

He emphasized that each member of a team must work together in order to successfully go in and come out within the allocated time.

"The Zhewu realm is a world of fantasy which was created by principal Ming, but when you get in it would be a world of reality",

"When you're in the realm and you get hurt, you would feel the pain and may even die",

"Unless you were able to get to the exit at the end of the realm", master Lin Fei said.

"You would be given a signal device to quit in case you're not sure if your survival",

"Once the device goes on, it means you're automatically disqualified and you would be teleported from the realm to reality."

"Are you all ready for the test", he asked.

"Yes master", they all chorused.

After his address, he led them to the Zhewu realm. The route was located in the academy's repository.

It was as though master Lin Fei using his Qi opened up a portal in front of the block.

As though they were daydreaming, a passage was created to the Zhewu realm.

"As each team proceed into the Zhewu realm, further instructions would be given through telepath",

'Telepath', was the academy's secret means of communicating to your mind by extrasensory means.

"You may begin your quest, although not everyone of you would pass this test", master Lin Fei concluded.

Each team then marched in entered the passage to the Zhewu realm.

Finally they all Succeeded in entering. But something amazing happened, immediately they all entered, it was as though each team was separated from each other.

The entrance also disappeared.

"The passage would appear at the exit of only you can get there within the allocated time", master Lin Fei's voice sounded from no where.

*Team 1*

Gui Shan and his teammate found themselves in a forest zone, so also the others. Gui Shan and Jin Xu then began their quest.

It was same with the other teams.

*Team 4*

"I'm so happy to be on the same team with you Ru Yuo", Hu Mei said out of joy.

"I believe all these things are meant to make us know ourselves better, I believe we can make it", he said.

"You never told me you were the empress' nephew?", Ru Yuo said.

"Pardon me for my forgetfulness", Hu Mei said.

"Nevertheless let's focus on the task ahead of us now",

"We can't tell, there maybe some beasts or dangers in the forest", Ru Yuo said.

"You are right", Hu Mei said as they scurried through a path.

*Team 2*

Tang Tang and Yu Xuan seems to be in a vigilant state as they walked straight down the path.

"I believe your martial skills are enough for us to get to the exit, considering how you performed during the first test", Tang Tang said.

All of the teams were not aware of what was ahead, but they were confident of getting to the exit.

*Team 3*

Bi Yao and Mao Li are seen walking down a path with extra vigilance.

Mao Li was to scout the back incase of any surprise attack, while Bi Yao was to scout the path as they forged ahead.

They were both determined to get to the exit no matter what it costs.

*Team 5*

Xu Gong who seems to be the opposite of Wan Fei. Xu Gong was a selfish individual.

Right from his childhood he always fought for himself and wasn't even happy that he got teamed up with someone else.

Wan Fei just followed quietly, considering the number of times Xu Gong has yelled at him not to slow him down.

He just wished he was paired with somebody who was understanding and has a teamwork spirit.

*Other teams*

The other teams still had their complications and differences, but they all forged ahead to get to the exit before the time allocated expires.

Unknowingly to them, that was not the aim of the test. The reason why the academy teamed them up was to test if they were willing to sacrifice for their fellow teammate.

Meanwhile in the real world, the masters had a monitoring view of what goes on in the Zhewu realm.

This was the academy's secret art.

The youngsters continued in their quest unaware of what's ahead.

The masters monitored the various teams as they forged ahead.

Each team seem to have covered some distance from their entering in. Everything seemed normal as they continued towards the exit.

But suddenly, out of no where came some poisonous bees. Although the masters didn't openly tell of the dangers, this was one of them.

The bees seems to be wild, attacking every member of a team. Many got bitten, while to some others their bites were severe.

They could all feel the pains as the bees stung them.

But to the surprise of the masters, Gui Shan wasn't attacked by any of the bees.
