Inter-wing Competition

Right after he said this, Grandmaster Hun Feng requested that Gui Shan give him his hands. Gui Shan did as he was told.

Grandmaster Hun Feng held Gui Shan's two hands an it was as though pure Qi energy flowed from him into Gui Shan.

After this, Gui Shan felt more powerful and to his surprise he had a breakthrough to the first level stage of essence. After this, he regained consciousness and was back to reality.

He then walked out of his room to continue training. Unknowing to them all, Gui Shan already had a breakthrough to the first level stage of essence.

Training continued till the day of the competition.

Finally, it the the day if the main event. That morning, all the students were brimming with expectations and hope.

They all made preparations and each wing marched to the general assembly ground where the competition is to take place.

Preparations had been made, with winning wing unknown. All students from the various wings were present. It was indeed a grand event in the history of the academy.

The reason for that is that students from close by academies were usually present. Royal representatives, ministers and martial artists all over Nirong city were present.

Indeed it was a special event. Everyone was gathered in assembly ground. Principal Ming stepped forward to the stage and addressed everyone.

"I welcome everyone here to this year's Inter-wing competition, where the strongest and most powerful wing demonstrate their prowess", he said.

"To all our contestants in the various wings, I urge you to do your best",

"Students of Guiyi academy have been known for their unsurpassable abilities", he said.

"I now declare the competition open', principal Ming stated.

A billboard was brought forward which contained the names of the contestants.

"The competition today would be in different categories.

We'll be having the 'First year category',

'Second year category',

'Third year category'. He said.

The first phase of the competition was to determine the strongest and most skillful team in martial arts.

"From the board above students in various category have already been paired up for combat and the last man standing in each category becomes the winner", principal Ming said.

The first year category which automatically were the new students stepped forward to look for their opponent in their rounds.

"For the first years the match is made up of four rounds", he said.

So he declared the match open and those in the first round were to climb up the platform.

*ROUND ONE*

In the first round, the contestants were 'Mao Li' vs 'Wan Fei'.

Considering the pairing, no one could tell who was stronger in terms of physical combat. But the spectators cheered them as they climbed up the platform.

They each had a stern look on their face as none of them were willing to be the person that would make their individual team lose.

The match was opened and the two opponents were to begin fighting. They both took their stances as they moved round the platform.

Wan Fei was the first to launch an attack which wasn't precise and was an easy one for Mao Li to evade.

Mao Li then took his turn and face Wan Fei a punch which suceeded in hitting him. The fight then became intense, at this point, Wan Fei seem to be on the defensive side.

He couldn't hold on much longer. The next minute, he found himself on the floor and was kicked off the platform.

Although he did his best, he was not strong enough to defeat Mao Li. Mao Li was then declared the winner of that round.

Wan Fei stood up and walked back to his team defeated. The silver eagles wing wing cheered Mao Li as he made his first win.

On getting to where his wing members stood, Wan Fei thought he would be scolded but to his surprise, they hugged him and congratulated him.

"Don't be sad for losing, I saw you do your best. You just need to train harder next time", Ru Yuo said as she patted him.

Gui Shan and the other seniors were also comforted him.

"Gui Shan please make our wing proud and make up for my losing", Wan Fei said as he embraced Gui Shan.

The competition moved on to the next round.

*ROUND TWO*

In the second round, the contestants were;

'Yu Xuan vs Mao Li',

'Bi Yao vs Ru Yuo',

'Hu Mei vs Tang Tang', and

'Gui Shan vs Jin Xu'

The second round seems to be with prospects. The students stepped forward as each contestants climbed up the platform for their fight.

First up was 'Yu Xuan vs Mao Li'. With the pair up, you could see the purple cloud wing supporters shouted Yu Xuan's name as though he was already the winner.

Despite this, Mao Li was deterred but vowed to give the match all he got.

The match began, the two contestants took their stances. It was definitely time for them to have a show of their martial skills.

Yu Xuan started by displaying some of his kungfu skills he had mastered over the period of training, his demonstration attracted lots of cheers from people.

The fight began in earnest, Yu Xuan and Mao Li threw attacks at each other, displayed excellent martial skills.

Yu Xuan made good use of his footwork as he flew over Mao Li and gave him a surprise attack. Unfortunately for him, that surprise attack wasn't enough to bring Mao Li down.

They fought for a while and eventually Mao Li went down as Yu Xuan used a secret art they were taught by master Yang Jun.

Mao Li went back to his wing members disappointed however, he kept his hope alive for his other wing members.

Yu Xuan was declared the winner of that round.

Next up was 'Bi Yao vs Ru Yuo'. The silver eagles wing cheered Bi Yao up as she climbed the platform.

She was indeed the pride of the silver eagles wing. But for the match, no one could predict the outcome of the match since Ru Yuo and Bi Yao had been training diligently.

The two ladies, took their stances and without wasting much time, Bi Yao came attacking Ru Yuo head on. It took Ru Yuo sometime before she could find her balance.

After some series of attack, Bi Yao suceeded in hitting an acupoint in her neck which left her motionless. Bi Yao then gave her a finishing kick.

Ru Yuo went down and lost the match. She couldn't believe reality, but what she did made everyone surprise.

She stood up and hugged Bi Yao as she was declared the winner of the match.

Next up was 'Hu Mei vs Tang Tang'.

The two contestants stepped up the podium and each had a stern look on their face. Hu Mei felt pleasured that he was matched up against one of those persons he want to fight the most.

"Long time no see Tang Tang", Hu Mei said mockingly.

"Hope you're ready to die, because I'm going to make you wish you were dead", he said.

"Even if I lose, I will make sure I cause you some pain", Tang Tang said with a stern look.

The two contestants moved round the platform for sometime. Then Hu Mei came forward and attacked.

Tang Tang carefully dodged his first attack. Hu Mei then paused and said.

"I can see you're very good at evading attacks, but let me test you and see how many more you can evade", he said as he attacked for the second time.

Tang Tang carefully evaded all his attacks and suceeded in gathering enough Qi in his hand which he used in giving Hu Mei a first hit.

This punch caused Hu Mei to bleed in his lips. After this single action, the crowd cheered him for being able to hit Hu Mei who was feeling too haughty.

"I can see you've got some guts to make me bleed", Hu Mei said angrily as he wiped his lips with his cloth.

After saying this, Hu Mei removed his outer outfit and took a stance as though he had been playing the whole time.

This time around, it was different from the previous attacks, he attacked with all his energy.

The punches and kicks were coming in such a way that Tang Tang couldn't evade them all.

He left Tang Tang bleeding all over his nose as he gave him a kick at his back which made him kneel down at fall flat on the ground.

Tang Tang spat blood and was in pain. But this only made Hu Mei merrier.

Principal Ming stopped Hu Mei before he could cause any other damage. Hu Mei was declared the winner of that round.

The silver eagles wing were disappointed by how Tang Tang was defeated by the brat called Hu Mei.

Meanwhile, the purple cloud wing cheered their champ for his winning.

Gui Shan right from where he stood felt pity for Tang Tang and vowed to pay Hu Mei back if they should meet in the finals.

Next up was 'Gui Shan vs Jin Xu'.
