CHAPTER 7
As soon as he felt that Ruth had learbt her lesson, Martin turned off the cooler water but in total frustruation.
What was he really doing?
Hurting this little girl that he claimed he love.
" Akeshia! Lady Akeshia!" Shouted Martin as he left the room.
He did not want to see Ruth anymore. Therefore he needed Akeshia to help Ruth change into warmer clothes.
" Sir! I am sorry but I cannot attend to you right now. The staff goods from the mall have just arrived and we totally need to arrange them at the store" said Lady Akeshia.
Lady Akeshia had always warned her way into Martin's heart but not this time.
" I need you to help my wife change into warmer clothes. I will be leaving the closer gates for now. I have matters to attend to. Inform her that she should prepare a warm supper for me as I will come back late. And one more thing, nobody should assist her to prepare my meal because she is my wife. Anybody who does that will be ripped off her duties in the closer gates and will suffer the punishments that awaits her" said Martin who seemed assured by his words.
He had not yet forgotten that he had told Ruth to prepare his meal. Lady Akeshia obidiently went to the room and assisted Ruth out even though she knew that Ruth hated it.
" Mistress, the boss wants you to prepare his evening meal. He says that nobody should help you and that you should do everything by yourself. He says that whoever will help you will have to be ripped off her duties and suffer serious consequences. I am sorry Mistress but I will not help you with that" said Lady Akeshia as Ruth was filled with lots of fury.
" First of all, don't you ever call me mistress. It's a bad way of referring to me since I am Martin's legal wife. His wife already divorced him even though they say that marriage is sacred. Where did that my husband go to?" Asked Ruth.
" I don't know ma. Maybe he has gone to a very important place since he has said that he will be back late. I sense something bad about this ma. Did you offend him? Did a person offend? If it's really yes, then he has just left to deal with the person" said Lady Akeshia who was very much worried about the situation.
" I must warn him and I have to leave " said Ruth as she was about to leave but was astonished to see that Martin had return with the dolls that she wanted for the first time.
He placed them on top of the bed smiling. She realized that she was wrong about judging Martin. Martin did not really have a heart to hurt anyone.
" Leave us alone lady Akeshia. I know that I told you that I would come late but I did change my mind. I just realized that I should be the one to help my wife prepare the evening meal" Lady Akeshia and Ruth were shocked by his statement.
Ruth smiled out of relief that Martin did nothing bad to Rodgers while he was out there. This made Ruth feel that it was indeed the right time to seek permission for Lady Ruby.
" Babe! We need to discuss about something important. Leave us alone Lady Akeshia" Ruth commanded Lady Akeshia who left immediately.
" What issue is so pressing that you need to tell me? Is it the issue concerning Rodgers? I do not have anything to do with him besides you have told me that you have nothing to do with him too" said Martin smiling .
" No..... it's all about Lady Ruby. She says that one of her family members is sick. I was suggesting that we should give her permission to go for a leave. Besides, Lady Akeshia and Lady Nana can help. I usually not need her that much" said Ruth a bit hesitantly.
" I will only give her the permission since you have said so. If she extends her stay there, then I will have no choice than to send her to the cell of hell. As you leave, tell Lady Akeshia that I seek Lady Ruby's presence in the study right away" said Martin.
" Thank you so much husband. Now I am more determined to become a good wife and your sweet little lawyer" said Ruth smiling.
" I asked Haggai to show you everything that you need to see here at the closer gates. I am sure that you will be happy and you will be happy to know that you got married to Martin Tupfer" said Martin..
" The crib! Did it belong to purist when she was young? I am just curious to know about such kind of things my love. It will be able to help me to understand you better" said Ruth out of curiosity.
" Just go away and follow my instructions my dear wife. You should only mind about the things that interests only you and me. Go get Haggai he is always a guard at the closer gates. No one is to come in again. Nobody comes after me. They will have to wait till tomorrow" said Martin .
What such rules?
And yet I was to be a party to such kind of a thing.
I was to go and warn Rodgers about this. It would have made him to despise me and make me face various punishments. Next time I should wait for a while and listen to my conscious.
Ruth thought as she left the room. She looked for lady Akeshia everywhere but she was not able to find her. She decided to go to her little home at the servant quarters where everyone had their blocks.
" Lady Akeshia! Lady Akeshia" shouted Ruth as she entered Lady Akeshia's block.
" Yes ma. You shouldn't come here again. The boss does not like it when his households come here as we call it. You know I never really went to school. What interests you ma?" Said Lady Akeshia as she bowed her head before Ruth.
" My husbands seeks your presence together with Lady Ruby. You must both go to the study and have a conversation with him" said Ruth as she left in a hurry.
She was so eager to meet the man Haggai that her husband often praised.
