CHAPTER 131

This made Ruth to be filled with lots of anger since she left Magdalene under the care of Ruth and Ryan then this happened. She angrily entered hospital and went to the hospital receptionist and inquired about the ward where Nelly had been admitted to. She went to Nelly's ward as soon as she was confirmed the wards number. She entered and found Faith crying while being comforted by Ryan. 

They both stopped hugging each other as soon as they saw Ruth. 

" Why? Has my grandma done anything wrong to the both of you?" Asked Ruth as tears welled down her eyes.

" Is it about the news that we gave you about grandma's death? I must tell you that her death has shocked me too. Now no one has the power to claim the closer gates" said Faith. 

" Is it that you failed to identify my grandma's body? Goodness! Mama and I have found her body lying outside the morgue as if she did not have any family. I considered you as my own sister Faith and I chose to love you Ryan. Why then do I have to get hurt for choosing the both above all else in this world? I am totally dissapointed in you" said Ruth who wanted to leave but Faith stopped her by holding her coat. 

" Where are you going?" Asked Faith. 

" I am going to transfer my grandma to Olam town. She will be safe there and she will be burried where she has always wanted" said Ruth who removed Faith's arm from her coat and left.

Ruth went back to the morgue and was astonished to find out that Naomi had collapsed. She decided to go and have a conversation with one of the mortuary attendants before she carried Naomi and took her to the hospital.

" Sir! This woman here is my mother. I just want her to be considered to stay in this morgue meanwhile I take my mother to the hospital to get treatment. I will pay you any ammount of money that you would want" said Ruth to the mortuary attendant in a pellucid voice.

" Fine! But make sure that you take the bereaved tomorrow morning before the cock crows because she is not considered as a member of this community. She has not undergone the rights to be a member" said the mortuary attendant who immediately did as inquired by Ruth.

Ruth therefore left carrying Naomi and rushed her to the hospital. Naomi was immediately taken to the emergency room which astonished Faith who went out for a coffee. She immediately went towards Ruth in order to find out what happened to Naomi.

" What happened to Mama Naomi? What did my brother do to her?" Asked Faith filled with lots of curiosity.

" Martin kidnapped my mama and took her to the cell of hell. She was bruised while in the cell of hell and maybe she could have died if I never went there to save her. Why do you suddenly care about her when you left my grandma abandoned outside the morgue?" Asked Ruth crying.

" Why would you think I would do that Ruth? Grandma was my grandma too and she was family. I loved her more than I even loved my own brother and mother. So! What makes you think I would do that? What makes you think I would do that after all the troubles that we have gone through in life? Please trust me and whatever I say dear sister because I left my whole family for you. What you are saying and the distrust that you have in me is really heartbreaking me both in heart and soul" said Faith.

Ruth immediately moved closer to Faith and hugged her. Although she did not understand what had happened, she knew that she needed to trust Faith. The doctor came out of the emergency room at that instant and went towards Ruth.

" Madam! Your mother lost conscious because of fatigue and stress. She needs to avoid stress and overworking herself. Her bruises are not that mild but she will have to stay for at least two days here at the hospital" said the doctor who did not give Ruth time to state her own regarding the matter.

It was as if the doctors already knew that she was going through a lot of things in life. He also knew that Ruth would not allow Naomi to spend a single minute at the hospital after everything that just happened to them.

Naomi was taken to her own ward and was now left under the care of Faith. 

Ruth decided to use the chance to go and Visit Nelly at her ward. She was as happy as a lark when she found out that Nelly was out of danger and in a good condition.

" Ruth! You came to visit me. You have no idea of how much I am glad that you visited me. That proves that you still treasure me and regard me as your sister-in-law" said Nelly smiling.

" No! And why would I not visit you? You are my good friend since you have always supported me. I want you to get well soon so gtat you can take up the title of the case manager just the way that I promised you" said Ruth smiling.

" Of course   I understand and I am going to get well soon and sooner than you can imagine. Is there anything wrong between you and Ryan? Anytime  I try to speak to him about you , he gets angry and leaves just like the way he left before you entered" said Nelly filled with lots of worries.

" We just argued a bit about my grandma Magdalene.The problem is that I do not think I should be the one to apologize to him about the matter. He should be the one to apologize to me after abandoning my grandma who was thrown outside the door of the morgue" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes who immediately left.

She needed time to think about the person who could have done such kind of a thing to harm her grandma.  She came up with a conclusion that it was Vivian and Lawrence. This made her to go to the house and was astonished to find out that Ryan was there too. He had gone to pick up some of Nelly's clothes and food then take them to her.  

She decided to approach Ryan and tried to kiss him but Ryan moved away from her. 

" I am sorry. I was just overtaken by my anger after everything that happened in my life. I thought that you and Faith failed to take care of my grandma but I came to realize that such kind of a thing might had only been done by Lawrence and Vivian" said Ruth who was regretful at how he spoke to Ryan. 

" What do you mean by saying that it was Lawrence and Vivian? Do you have any proof?" Asked Ryan who was already tired of listening to Ruth.

" Because I went back to the morgue and threatened the morgue attendant who told me that it was Vivian and Lawrence. I am deeply sorry for having lost trust in you and Faith thinking that you are the ones who had done such kind of a thing to her" said Ruth. 

Ryan widened his eyes in disbelief. He found it hard to believe that his own siblings were the ones responsible of such a dispeakable thing. Ruth on the other hand knew that she had lied to Ryan. She just wanted Ryan to be the one to find out the truth if whether it was Lawrence and Vivian. It was the best thing to do.

Ryan immediately went towards Ruth and hugged her filled with lots of guilt. He also knew that the only ones responsible for that act was Lawrence and Vivian. 

" They have told me at the morgue that I need to take my grandma out of this town town by tomorrow morning back to my town. She cannot stay at the morgue for long because she had not undergone the rites to be a member of mambo town. Is that what the rules of your land states Ryan?" Asked Ruth who was filled with lots of sadness. 

" Yes! But I will not allow them to impose such rules in you and your family. You and your family deserve the best and it's that best that I will always give you . Nobody has the right to threaten your lives like that. You don't have to transfer grandma's body out of this town because we are getting married by this midnight" said Ryan. 

Ruth stopped hugging Ryan and moved further from him. How could he think of something like that after all the troubles that they have gone through? Was he actually out of his mind? 

" I have to think......" Said Ruth but Ryan suddenly interrupted. 

" There is nothing to think about because you chose me from Martin and even went to a war with me in order to win and stay with me. I want to see you this midnight at the case square once you have made up your mind" said Ryan who carried Nelly's bag and left. 

Ruth sat down wondering the kind of decision that she was going to make. She had never felt a test of love the way she felt that day.
