CHAPTER 132

Ruth sat down wondering the kind of decision that she was going to make. She had never felt a test of love the way she felt that day. Vivian approached her at that instant and offered an evening meal for her. She knew that Ruth had hardly eaten anything since morning. Ruth took the food and threw it on Vivian's face which made Vivian to want to slap her but Ruth suddenly stopped her by holding her arm tightly. 

" What gives you that right to even dare to want to touch me after embarrassing my grandma by telling the mortuary attendant to leave her at the doorstep of the morgue? I have known you've always hated but I did not know that you would go to such an extent as to do this kind of a thing to my grandma. Today you have crossed you boundaries and I will make sure that you pay for it" said Ruth angrily which made Vivian to go to the kitchen and took a knife then went towards Ruth and tried to stab her but Ruth missed it and Vivian stabbed the couch instead. 

" Why do you like acting too tough Ruth?" Asked Vivian angrily. 

"  I never act too tough. I always try to protect myself from people who are ready to harm me like you. I just have to defend myself because I am the only one left of my family" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes. 

This made her to remember the fact that her father and siblings were dead and now her her grandmother Magdalene was dead too. Those were sorrows which she found it hard to forget and only vengeance was the thought she had everytime. 

" It's not as if I am the one who killed them. I admit that I was wrong denying your grandmother access to the morgue but you have to remember that I am not the one who killed them for you to lay all your anger on me" said Vivian who immediately left.

This made Ruth to feel bad since it was what she had done a while ago. She had accused Ryan and Faith of something they had not done. She realized that she always judged according to her own insticts but not her heart. Yet she failed to understand the one which was right; the heart or the insticts. 

Ruth immediately went to her room and was astonished to find Martin seated on top of her bed. She wondered how this could be possible yet she had input tight security at Mambo town after the unexpected war that took place. 

" What are you doing here?" Asked Ruth in a serious tone.

" I am here to see my grandma. Why did you hide from me the fact that she had died earlier? I only saw it on your phone since you left your phone at the closer gates. I just want to see her and my mother too wants the same. She's waiting for your response at the boundary of the closer gates" said Martin as tears welled down his eyes.

" You are not allowed to visit her. No, not after what you have done to her. All this happening in my life right now is because of my past and misfortunes. It's all because I got married to you at the age of sixteen. I don't have to make that mistake in future and that is why you have to leave" said Ruth as she signalled to Martin to leave.

" I am begging you Ruth. She was also a family to us" said Martin.

" She was never your family. She doesn't even share the same blood as any of you. She is only my grandma and Faith's grandma because Faith never left us even in times of trouble like the way that you and your family did to her" said Ruth who took Martin's arm and led him out of the house. 

She therefore took him to the boundaries of mambo town and threw him outside the gates. 

" Ensure that this man and his mother does not come back here. It dosen't matter if guards have to be added to assist in guarding. They are not worth anything in this town. They are worth nothing" Said Ruth angrily who left to the hospital. 

Ruth knew that she had no business at home since only Vivian and Lawrence were present there. She knew that if she went there then she would do something to hurt them after what they did to her family. 

As soon as she arrived at the hospital, Ruth immediately went to Naomi's ward. She was as happy as a lark when she found out that Naomi had already woken up and had a lot of strength more than she had before. Naomi was even eating a lot of fruits that Faith had gone and bought for her in the nearest mini market.

" What happened to my mama?" Said Naomi as Ruth went and sat beside her on the left side since Faith was seated on the right side.

" Grandma is now inside the morgue and I ensured that she was given proper treatment before I left there. I have a lot of doubts that whoever must have ordered for my grandma to be thrown was Vivian and Lawrence. Those two fellows hate us too much" said Ruth. 

" Give me five days and I will come out with the truth of the person who did this. That person must and will pay dearly" said Faith angrily. 

Naomi immediately hugged both Faith and Ruth. She was overwhelmed by the kind of love that they had for her. Ryan entered at that instant since he wanted to check how Naomi was doing. This was simply because he has not bothered to visit Naomi after hearing the news that she had collapsed outside the morgue. 

" I am glad that you are in good health Aunt Naomi. I am sorry for failing to protect like the way I said that I would do during the war" said Ryan who was filled with lots of guilt.

" You don't have to apologize to me since all this were bound to happen. This was all planned and nobody has to blame himself or herself. Today I am giving my consent to you Ryan to marry my daughter Ruth. What happened to me has proved to me that anything can happen to us and death is inevitable. It is a predestined thing which is bound to happen to anyone. The main problem is that we do not know the day or the time it might happen. That is why we have to use every opportunity we have to live our lives to the fullest" said Naomi smiling. 

" Thank you mama for giving me your consent. I promise that I will take very good care of your daughter Ruth, Faith and you as well" said Ryan smiling. 

Ruth was silent since she did not know what to say. What she knew was that she was not going to allow herself to get married before Magdalene was burried. This would mean that she prioritized her hapiness at the expense of Magdalene's death.

" Mama! You don't have to say such things as if you are dying soon. Ryan and I will get married when the right time comes. Today I have been able to learn that everything comes from the heart. This includes love. We don't have to go for a war just because Ryan and I want to prove our love to each other. That is why I have decided that I am going to get married to Ryan as soon after my grandma is burried in Olam town. Everything will be done in Olam town including the last rites that she deserves. That is what she could have wanted if she was still alive. Right mama?" Ruth asked Naomi because she wanted to find out if it was what she wanted too.

" Yes. My mama would have wanted to be burried next to her husband in her own town" said Naomi.

" Your wish will always be my command. Magdalene is going to be transferred to a morgue in Olam town first thing tomorrow morning. My family and I will follow along later" said Ryan who left the ward.

This made Ruth to be satisfied since she felt that her decision was fair. She could have got both the two things that she wanted at the end of the day. 

Akeshia and Martin left the boundaries of Mambo town and went to the nearest town which was commonly named as Town one. This was simply because it was the first community to be recognized and made  town due to to the fact that they had a lot of business activities and traded a lot of items which were unique to all the other towns near it. 

The leader of that community happened to be Martin's father's friend in the past. It was through that friendship that Olam town learnt the badic of businesses which made them gain a lot of business men trading there. That was how Olam town was finally declared a town.
