CHAPTER 130

They wanted to instill fear on people for a short period of time. The fear that the people of the closer gates had made them to start hitting stones on the glinding door of the car but the door did not break. It seemed as if the car was made of metal. It was indeed made of metal and was a bullet proof. Ruth made her car to be like that because as a lawyer who fought for the rights of the people , she had a lot of enemies especially those in higher positions since she was against earlier marriages.
This made Haggai to feel restless since he saw how much worried Tere was from the inside of the car. This made him to want to open the glinding door of the car but Ruth stopped him.
" If we decide to put feelings in our plans then our plans will be ruined. I really want to see the people of the closer gates shaken" said Ruth smiling.
" Don't you think we have stayed inside the car for a long period of time? I am even tired of staying in this car smelling your perfume. It smells like bitter lemon" said Haggai laughing.
" Fine! Let's get out of the car and finally face this arrogant people" said Ruth as they both got out of the car.
Everybody were astonished to find out that it was Ruth and Haggai. They all silently bowed at Ruth since they felt that they respected her despite the war which was going on between the community she was living in and the people of the closer gates. Ruth signalled to them to stop bowing in her favour.
" I urge all of you to leave to your homes. There is no need for a selfish person like me to be bowed and worshipped by people who do not care about me at all" said Ruth as the closer gates people left.
Ruth went into the parlor and sat on her grandmother's couch. Tere and Martin followed her astonished . They had never seen Ruth behaving in such a manner before.
" Why are you all looking at me like that? My name is Ruth Baraka and I am one of the most influential lawyers at Olam town. I am here to get my mother so that I can take her to mourn her own mother who was considered dead on arrival at the hospital" said Ruth pretending to be sad.
She knew that she had lied since she had no idea of what Magdalene's condition was.
" What do you mean that your grandma is in a critical condition? I don't remember seeing them during the war. I am surprised by everything that you are telling me" said Martin astonished.
Ruth stood up and then went towards him and slapped him. She found it hard to believe the fact that Martin claimed that she had no idea of what happened to her family yet it was clear that he was the one who hurt Magdalene and Nelly.
" There is no room for pretence here Martin. It is clear to me that you have my mother and I want my mother. Where is she? Did you take her to the cell of tell? Have you people not gotten tired of hurting my family? Where is my mother?" Asked Ruth who decided to go to each rooms to search for her mother but she was nowhere to be found.
At that instant, she got a message from Faith on her phone. The message claimed that Magdalene was declared dead as soon as the doctors got out of the emergency. Ruth wailed screams of pain which made Martin to try and comfort her even though he had no idea of what was happening.
" You don't dare touch me Martin. My grandma is dead all because of you. Wouldn't you now give me back my mother to go ahead and my mourn my grandma?" Shouted Ruth at Martin.
" I swear l....." Said Martin but Ruth suddenly interrupted.
" You swear....you swear is all you can say. You took my mother and I know very well that my grandma can never lie to me. Why would she do that bearing the fact that Naomi is her own daughter? I know that you might had taken my mother to the cell of hell and I am going there to take her back home because my grandma will not be burried in the closer gates but in her own land where my grandpa was burried" said Ruth who left to the cell of hell.
Martin, Tere , Haggai and Akeshia followed her closely. They were eager to know what her next plan was. Ruth indeed entered the cell of hell but neither did the lights of the cell of hell turn to red nor the gates of the cell of hell closed.
Ruth came out after a few minutes accompanied by Naomi who had bruises all over her body. She held Naomi's arm and led her towards where Martin was standing.
" Do you see what you have done to me? I want to assure you that this war will continue and it will never end till one of us is declared dead. One more thing, don't you dare involve Purist in this because I will fight to death for her. I have always learnt to consider her as my own daughter" said Ruth who left the closer gates accompanied by Naomi.
She did not even remember the plan that she had with Haggai. She instead left him at the closer gates to face her wrath. This made Haggai to be filled with lots of anger as Tere made a judgement to burn Haggai, the same judgements that used to be made for murderers. All the members of the closer gates were invited to witness this occasion.
" He sneaked into the closer gates and such people who do that are thieves. I urge all of you not to leave till this rite is accomplished. Anyone who leaves before it is accomplished will have to suffer the same punishment as Haggai" said Tere in a commanding voice.
Firewood and kerosene were brought and placed beside Haggai. This made Haggai to be filled with lots of fear. He had never felt threatened his whole life since he was the one who used to threaten people. He was considered one of the most greatest warriors in the closer gates.
" Stop it Tere. How can you forget all the memories that we shared all this years? What sort of a person are you? I swear that if I get out of here then my war and yours will never end till the day that you will die Tere. Till the day that you will die. Ruth will end this war but I will finish it" shouted Haggai.
Everybody at the closer gates looked at him filled with lots of fear. Smoke filled the closer gates at that time till nothing was visible in anybody's eyes. As soon as the smoke was over, Haggai was nowhere to be found. Tere was the one who was tied at the same place that Haggai was tied which astonished everyone including Martin and Akeshia who went towards her and untied her.
" Who has done this to you Tere? Is it Haggai?" Asked Akeshia astonished.
" No! Where would Haggai get the strength to do this to me yet he was tied all over his body? The person who has done this to me is Ruth. She has tied me here and ran away with Haggai. It was always her plan to get rid of me in such a manner. I hate them with all my life" shouted Tere as tears welled down her eyes.
" You are not clear and certain to us Tere. How can Ruth be able to do this to you yet we all saw boarder a taxi together with Naomi? The Ruth that I know does not even care about Haggai since Haggai is among the people who have always hurted" said Martin.
" There is no need for me to continue talking about this subject because none of you is ever going to believe. I would rather go visit my daughter Vela in her grave" said Tere who left.
All the people of the closer gates remained filled with lots of fear. The mystery of how Haggai got saved from the flames of fire disturbed them so much. They found it hard to sleep on their beds even though they knew that the closer gates were guarded with a lot of warriors.
Ruth and Naomi on the other hand arrived at mambo town at midnight. They immediately went to the morgue to identify Magdalene's body. They found out that her body had been thrown outside the morgue since no family member had identified her. This made Ruth to be filled with lots of anger since she had left Magdalene under the care of Faith and Martin.
