Chapter 48

   ' There can be no goodbye for us. It will be too painful dear Our connection still lives on although you are far from here , I will look for you among the stars, and each dawn pastels the sky, and whispers I love you but would never say goodbye. '

     These were the words I heard as I dreamt of an unknown place, a lady sitting close to a shore, her legs were covered with sand, as she held a rock shaped baby, the rock was covered with seaweed perfectly.

     Like it was the most precious thing in the entire universe, she caressed the face of the rock shaped  baby as she stared at it, with teary eyes.

    My presence was noticed, she looked at me,as she smiled sheepishly, welcome my love, she said as she tapped an empty space beside her, she looked just like me, I felt like I was looking at myself in the mirror.

     "Do you know, my baby likes you?", She said as she stared at the rock  in her hands, " she said you are beautiful" she added, is she a lunatic? her behaviour wasn't telling otherwise.

       She looked normal but she was behaving insanely. I look at the rock baby on her hand. It was really carved perfectly. She stared at the baby once more. "Do you know that I can never be happy without my baby? I miss her a lot when she was taken from me".

     She looked at me, with those eyes that could melt a solid rock, I saw grief in them, "   a person wanted to take my child away from me and I couldn't let anything happen to my baby. She belongs to me and I belong just by her side". 

    Just the way I am staring at the beautiful eyes, I hope she grows up to be a virtuous woman just like her mother.

    Do you know she was right  before me but I watched her grow? I watched her everyday. I dreamt about her. I wish I could just hold her one more time but I can't because we are worlds apart I can only leave  with memories of her"....

   I was confused, there was a baby in her hand, and she was referring to  another child who is now grown up, " back in her land she is  a beautiful woman, but to me she is still a baby, just like this, she said while looking at the baby.

     This baby here is a piece of her that I would never let go, no matter the torment I receive she would be right beside me, this time no one will take her away from me,  "I never want to see her far from me", can I carry her? .

     I asked, hoping she would give me a positive answer, " no, you can't carry her, she belongs to me", its quite uncomfortable to see someone who looks exactly like me, behaving in such a manner.

    " Would you take her away from me?"She asked but I had no intention of running away, " she handed the rock over to me, it was very heavy. I felt  like I was Carrying an elephant, but I wouldn't dare to drop it.

      I felt cold creeping into my skin, like I was freezing, I looked at the carved stone. She had a similar resemblance to the lady beside me, I looked around the baby and I saw something strange, it was a mark on its neck.

     " I marked her, when she was born", so other people would know she belongs to me, and me alone, I looked at her again, I could see her fading, " time to go my love", she said as she faded into tiny particles.

      " Time to go my love", she repeated, …" come and take your baby, I said trying my best to stretch my hands to meet her, " bye my love", she said, why is she telling me bye m, where is she going to.

         " Bye my love, bye my love, bye my love", I woke up chanting the sentence the strange woman said, Athena and Reth were beside me, they were sleeping peacefully, I felt a sting of pain on my neck like I was pierced.

     I felt a scare on my neck, i would have woken one of them up, but I didn't want to disturb anyones, I went back to sleep, hoping I won't have any weird dreams.

     Early in the morning, everyone was awake. Reth went to brush her teeth, while Athena and I shared ideas on how to look for lady nalu. My nightmare still baffled me, but I would only say it when reth and Athena were present.

    Reth took her bath,before coming back to the room, I guess I had to tell them, " Reth, Athena I had a dream, though it's the first time having this dream, I don't feel right about it .

    They were both eager to hear what I had to say, and  I was eager for an answer, " I saw a woman who looks just like me, she held a rock shaped baby in her hands I could see myself in her eyes there was no difference though she looks a little bit older.

      she held the baby in her hands she cared for the baby a lot I could see it in her eyes she  also told me her baby was taken away from her and that's why she carved a stone because it was the only piece left of her child with her and shortly .

    after I offered to carry her baby then she handed it to me she started fading and the only thing she said was bye my love and that was all reth, please you know what it means?

   Reth thought for a while,  before  she said something that was extremely amazing "kailani I think you just met your mothers soul she just wanted to meet you for your last time before she passed to the afterlife.

     I guess so I'm not sure but I guess that is all  we can think of right now and yes you were taken away from your mother when you were little she loved you a lot I saw it in her eyes.

    The king wanted to take you away and kill you just to hide his secret so she handed you to lady nalu , while  she faced the consequences of not obeying the king which led to imprisonment for eternity and now she has died but she hasn't left just to be with you one more time.

    So she was actually my mother and the stone  was a replica of me when I was little  I wish I could talk to her one more time without all the odd circumstances   seeing her made me crave for her presence and I care
