Humans

"Ahh." Ralph screamed in terror as the faun locked his gaze on him. He pounced on Ralph. They both fell to the floor, and he put a knife in Ralph's neck.

"Who are you?" he asked, glaring at Ralph.

"Easy, I mean you no harm, I am just lost." Ralph replied. Lucinda wanted to attack the faun from behind when he showed her his knife and she stepped back nervously.

"Where do you come from? I have never seen a creature like you before." He said and stood up from Ralph’s body.

Ralph started dusting his body.

"That’s because we are humans." Ralph replied.

"Humans, is that your name?" he asked bluntly.

"No, we are called humans." Lucinda added.

"I wasn't speaking to you, pretty lady; I was speaking to your boyfriend." He said, and Lucinda’s face flushed.

"He is not my boyfriend." She protested and turned scarlet, looking at the river.

"By the way, my name is Ralph, and that lady over there is Lucinda." Ralph introduced.

"Nice to meet you, I am Apedes, the adviser to the king." He said, extending his hand to Ralph, and he shook it. Ralph looked at his leg. From his stomach to his leg, his body was like a goat, and he had two horns.

"So where can we find a portal?" Ralph inquired.

"What do you mean by a portal?" he asked.

"We are not from this." Ralph hadn’t completed his sentence when Lucinda interrupted them.

"I am hungry, where can we get food." She said, looking at the faun.

"If you come to the kingdom, I will give you food to eat." He said.

"I don’t think we can go with you, there must be a lot of creatures like you living there." Ralph stated.

"No, the people that live there are all Centaurs, and the king is very kind, he will accommodate you." He assured.

"I don’t think it’s a good idea." Ralph said, and Lucinda walked over to him and held his hand, giving him the puppy dog eyes.

"Please let’s go, it’s not fair." She stated, with pouted lips.

"Alright, take us there." Ralph said, and Apedes smiled widely at Ralph and started walking away, and Ralph and Lucinda followed behind him.

He started walking towards a big wall that was 6 feet tall, as Ralph and Lucinda followed behind them.

"Are we there yet?" Lucinda asked, struggling to walk.

"Almost." He replied.

"I am so tired." Lucinda growled.

"Be strong." He said, and hastened his footsteps. Ralph held Lucinda’s hand and led her. As she was gaiting behind him.

They arrived at the gate of the walls.

And Apedes knocked on the gate. A small hole opened in the wall and some put their eyes on the hole looking at them.

"Who is there?" the person said with a deep voice.

"It’s me, Apedes." He replied.

"If you are Apedes, what’s the password." He said, and Apedes smirked and whispered something, and the gate started opening at a small pace.
