Strange creatures

Lucinda was smiling now. She was over the mood that she would get to eat and drink water for staying a whole day without food and water.

The door opened fully, and Ralph and Lucinda were amazed by what they saw. It was like a new world where the Centaurs were living. It was like a mini city that was covered with a great wall. The centaurs were all moving around doing their daily activities.

Apedes started walking into the city and Ralph and Lucinda followed behind him when two centaurs blocked them at the entrance with their swords. They were wearing the same attire they were soldiers.

They both looked at them from top to bottom.

"Who the heck are these strange creatures." One of them said, and Apedes turned to them.

"Let them in, they are with me." He said and they let go of Lucinda and Ralph as they started walking in the city. All the centaurs stopped and started looking at them with their eyes never leaving their bodies.

"Who are these strange creatures." The people started murmuring.

"They are not like us, what are they doing here." Another one added.

"Why did Apedes allow them to come into the city? They might be a threat to us." Another one added and two soldiers came forward and stood behind Lucinda and Ralph as they guided them to the king's palace.

"Ralph, I feel strange." Lucinda said.

"If anything happens to us, it’s your fault for not listening to me." He replied bluntly, and she gasped.

        Ralph’s POV

I feel uneasy being in this place. I don’t know why I listened to Lucinda to come to this place in the first place. I hope the king is as nice as Apedes describes; for the time being, I don't trust anyone, which is why I have doubts.I am also thirsty but I am trying hard to control myself.

We walked into the palace and all the centaurs started looking at us. They must be wondering who these strange creatures are. How can they not know what humans are, I don’t blame them; we don’t belong to their world, we just need to find a way to get out of the world as soon as possible. I can’t believe Queen Luna will try to get us to leave earth.

Apedes stood as two Centaurides approach him. They both bowed their heads and looked up at him. Their eyes drifted to me and Lucinda. Their eyes flicked.

"Where is the king?" Apedes inquired.

"Your highness is bathing." One of them replied.

"Since he is bathing, I want you to entertain our guest. Give them food." He said, and they both looked at me and Lucinda, leading us to the dining table while Apedes stood at the entrance of the house talking with the soldiers.

I have no intention of eating here. What if they poison us? Let me see their food first. I turned to face Lucinda, who was licking her lower lip in anticipation of the food.
