Fay groaned in pain as she couldn't supress it. She felt a slight touch on her hair, she knew this intruder was close to her as she could inhale his manly scent, she gulped as she awaited for the worse to happen.
"Please don't hurt me" Fay said with a whisper as shiver ran down her spine
"I won't be the one doing the job, you would" The voice said calmly.
"H.. H... How?" Fay stammered. She felt a tip of a knife at her back, she shrieked in fear as she let out a cry
"Please Don't kill me" I would give you whatever you want, just don't kill me" she begged
"Like you have anything to offer me? And please note, I won't be the killing doing the killing, you would?
"Y... y... you want me to kill You?"Fay stammered which made the intruder let out a chuckle.
"Why would I want you to kill me, don't you have any brain in that head of yours, hmmmm, I guess I would have to find out today" he said tugging on her hair, roughly pulling her toward him. A whimp escaped from her mouth as a result of how roughly he pulled her hair.
"I want you to kill yourself" the voice said calmly, Almost like a whisper.
"What?" She asked trying to free herself from his grip. How was she supposed to kill herself, This person was being absurd.
"You heard me" the voice said slowly, he lifted up the knife from her back as he slowly slipped it into her hands.
"Now listen, don't try anything stupid with me, I am faster than you think, and a knife can't kill me" the voice said close to her face as she could feel his hot breath on her face.
She gulped as she held the knife in her hands. How crazy was this person to have handed her a knife with the hope that she would kill her self. She used the opportunity to wiggle herself from his grip as she swung the knife with the intention of stabbing the intruder. He wasn't there anymore, she realised. She looked around trying to see through the darkness but she couldn't. She headed for the door with the hope of getting out when she felt her hair being tugged from behind. She fell to the floor as a result of the force. She felt a hand wrapped around her hands, pulling her toward the kitchen. She tried to wiggle her way out but the grip was too strong.
"You think you are smart" the voice said still pulling her towards the kitchen "I gave you a choice to end your life in a painless way but you declined" he slammed her head on the kitchen table, which created an injury as blood came gushing out of her head "You know that annoying me is dangerous for the both of us?"
"Please don't kill me" Fay screamed with the hope that somebody would come and save her.
"Shouting won't help you either"
Fay felt a hand around her neck squeezing it tightly as she struggled to breathe. The hand pinned her to the wall. The intruder held her neck with one hand and the other hand held d tip of a knife to her stomach. She shrieked as she felt the knife on her stomach. She knew this was the end of her. But why now? she was so young and she hasn't even gotten a taste of good life yet. Tears came rolling down her cheek . She felt helpless, hopeless as life was draining out of her. Her vision became blurry as suddenly Darkness finally overshadowed her.
**********************
Hattie stretched her arms as she got out of the bed, she yawned tireldly as she lazily dragged her feet to the bathroom just opposite her bed. The blood stain was gone, How was that even possible? she was sure she saw a huge stain of blood on the wall of the bathroom yesterday night. She decided to leave it and tell Bella about it today but it was already gone, how strange. She was still at the bathroom when she heard a knock on her door.
"Just a minute" she yelled from the bathroom. She got out from the bathroom and walked towards the door and opened it. Bella was the one knocking, she had a box on her right hand. Hattie assumed it was her clothes.
"Are this my clothes?" Hattie asked Bella who had a really worried look on her face.
"Yes" Bella said handing the box to Hattie then she turned around to leave in a haste. Hattie noticed how troubled Bella looked, the way she bit her lips nervously, the way she kept running her hands through her hair in frustration.
"Is anything the matter?" Hattie couldn't help but ask. Bella who was already half way far from her room, turned to look at her.
"Oh nothing, everything is fine" she gave Hattie a reassuring smile but the smile was obviously faked.
"Ok did you meet Javier when you went to take my clothes?"
"Of of... course" Bella stammered nervously.
Now Hattie knew that something was really wrong and she wanted to know what was it
"Are you sure? You don't look so good" Hattie pointed out with the hope of getting new information about the situation.
"You don't have to worry about anything, just get prepared so that you can have breakfast"
"Ok, if you say so" Hattie gave up as she closed her room door. She rummaged through the huge box in search of a toothbrush, she found it and headed for the bathroom to brush her teeth. She finished brushing, then she came out of the bathroom. She walked back to her room as result of her phone that was ringing on her bed, she walked over to it and picked it up, it was Aida, she held the phone to her right ear.
"Hello Aida"
"Hattie" Aida said, with her voice filled with worry.
"Yes, is anything the problem?" Hattie asked
"Yes"
"What happened" Hattie stood up in anticipation of hearing the cause of the agitation.
"You know that resturant just opposite the hospital?"
"Yes, What happened?"
"That girl that works there" she paused trying to remember her name "Oh Fay"
"Yes I know her, I went there once" Hattie remembered when she went there, she had also met Javier there after not seeing him for a year. Fay was the waitress that attended to her. Hattie also remembered asking Fay about herself.
"She was found unconscious in the resturant this morning"
"What happened?" Hattie asked in surprise
"Nobody knows, but she surely was attacked in the night"
"But she is still alive right?"
"Barely"
"Oh dear. What was she even doing in the resturant at night?"
"Well apparently she sleeps in the resturant everyday because she had no home of hers" Aida said which made Hattie's heart ache. That poor girl. What did the culprit gain from this.
"So where is she now?"
"She was admitted here, at the hospital"
"Does she have any relative?"
"Nobody has come for her up till this now and she is still unconscious. The police are waiting for her to recover so that they could get information from her"
"This is so bad, I wish she gets well soon. I would be at the hospital to see her"
"Oh ok"
"How bad is she"
"Her legs are dislocated and she has some internal injuries"
"That is so bad, what could the poor girl had done to deserve all this"
"The world is evil, I must say" Aida sighed
"I would be there shortly" Hattie said ending the call.
Hattie walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower. She needed to see Fay and ask her some questions too. Fay's case was really similar to hers. She had her shower and exited the bathroom and went over to her box to look for a suitable cloth to wear. She picked a plain top and leggings and slipped It on. She stopped In front of a mirror, she took a brush, as she proceeded in untangling her really messy hair. She winced in pain as the brush brushed hard against her hair. She dropped the comb in defeat as she used her hands to adjust her hair into perfection. She headed towards the door as she exited the room. She went down the stairs over to the dining table where Bella was seated. She still looked very worried. Hattie wondered what the mood was all about. She looked at the dining. She could see the two plates of food arranged on the dining table. Hattie no longer have appetite for food, she needed to visit fay who was at the hospital.
Bella noticed a presence as she looked up to Hattie.
"You are going out?" Bella asked
"Yes there was an accident, I need to go and visit the victim in the hospital"
"What accident"
"A girl was attacked at night" Hattie said, Which made Bella stiffen up a bit as she shifted uncomfortably on her seat. She hoped and prayed that it wasn't who she thought it was that commited this.
"How bad?" Bella asked
"Very bad, thankfully she Is still alive"
"She is?"
"Yes, and I need to see her for myself, I also have a lot of questions to ask her"
"Like what?"
"Her case is kinda of similar to mine, she was attacked just like me. Am sure she must have seen something, so am going to ask her about it"
"Do you think it's really a good idea to go out, with all this happening?" Bella asked. Truth be told, she didn't want the two victims to meet. Bella wanted to be sure of who the culprits was. A while ago she would have assumed it was Andrew even without proof but with Javier in his season, anything could happen. Things was even worse now that she couldn't find Javier. A lashedta in season on the loose was very dangerous.
"Well I can't keep on staying here hidden for the rest of my life, I was even thinking of resuming at the hospital next week"
"So soon?"
"Yes, am already getting so much better. Look I can even walk around without leaping" Hattie twirled around in attempt to prove to Bella that she was getting better.
"Ok" Bella sighed in defeat, she realised that she couldn't keep Hattie here, locked up like a child.
"Am off" Hattie turned towards the door "bye" she said as she walked to the door.
***
Hattie flaged down a cab and instructed him to take her to Beverly where the hospital was. She entered Into the cab and the cab man drove. Hattie realised that it had been a while she came outside without Javier being on her tail. The sunlight hit her face through the car window. She kept her face in an angle that she could see the view outside. The drive took about 17 minutes before they finally got to Beverly. She got down from the cab, handed the taxi drive some change and walked away from the cab. She turned to look at the resturant that the mishap happened, it was closed. Of course it was closed, it couldn't be open after the strong incident that happened there. She turned back and walked to the hospital. Reaching the hospital, she walked over to where Aida normally stayed. She found Aida who was busy scribbling something on a book, she was so busy with what she was doing that she did not realise when Hattie walked in.
"Ahem" Hattie cleared her throat in an attempt to get Aida's attention, Aida looked up and saw her. A little smile printed on her face.
"Hattie, how are you?" she asked
"As good as I look"
"You sure do look good, am glad you feel much better"
"Thank you" Hattie looked around, accessing the area, nothing had changed "I actually came to see the girl"
"Fay?"
"Yes"
"Okay, she is actually in the emergency ward, ward 8"
"Okay thanks, I would be back here, I just need to see her briefly"
"She is still unconscious though"
"Okay" she said walking away, she turned to look at Aida again "Who Is the doctor incharge of her?"
"Urm I think it's Doctor Martins"
"Ok, oh and lastly, I haven't seen Ashley"
"Ashley couldn't make, she is home sick"
"i'll be right back. I just need to check on her. I'm sure none of our family has come by"
Hattie walked to the emergency Ward. The poor girl probably did nothing wrong but judging from how wicked this world was, mishaps always happened. Hattie took a right turn. She sighted Ward 8 and walked towards it. Dr Martins stood in front of the ward with a notebook in his hands as he scribbled down on it. Hattie stood in front of him as she placed her hands on her hips waiting for him to finish what he was writing. He looked up to her and was really surprised. He heard she had been involved in an accident. What was she then doing in the hospital.
"Hattie I didn't really expect you to be at work today" Dr Martin said
"Oh no I'm not here for work I'm here to see the patient that was admitted here yesterday"
"You mean the girl?"
"Yes Fay"
"Are you related to her?"
"Oh no I'm not but I just want to see her"
"You know it's against the rules for you to see her right? since you are not one of her relatives"
"Oh come on Dr Martins, I work here for goodness sake and this girl clearly has no relatives. I also want to be in charge of her bills. At least that's the least I can do"
"That's really generous and thoughtful of you, I must say"
"Thank you. Now can you let me in?"
"Fine but you have to make it quick, the patient doesn't need any form of disturbance"
"Oh please, you are talking as if I am new to the hospital's environment"
"I was just keeping you informed" Dr Martins smirked
"As you wish" Hattie said as she walked inside the ward.
Fay laid down on the hospital bed almost lifeless. Hattie could tell she was badly injured, poor girl, why her of all people. Hattie remembered how lively she was when Hattie came into the resturant, and she sure had the brightest smile. Hattie sighed as she walked to the bed where Fay laid down. She walked round the bed, inspecting the area to make sure that everything was in check. She wasn't the doctor in charge but she still felt the need to do the needful. She took one last glance at Fay before turning towards the door to leave, she would probably come back as soon as Fay wakes up. She held the door knob and was about twisting it when she heard a slight whisper from behind
