Chapter 37

Lagatha groaned in exasperation as she paced endlessly in her office. Her hair was messy, her make up appeared slightly patchy but she couldn't care less. Anger boiled inside of her. The thought of once having something and then losing it. Harry signing the contract with Javier had made her buiseness take a drastic fall. Harry was a huge influencer when it came to buiseness in regards to his company being the one of the largest in USA. Partnering with him would be epic for her business. She didn't really worry that much about the whole partnering thing, but when her funds started dwindling, she knew she had to get Harry on her side and fast

"What else did he say?" Lagatha turned to Jennifer who stood transfixed at a spot

"He didn't even want to speak to me, he just declined the offer"

"Where you persuasive?"

"I tried my best ma'am"

"Answer the question, don't cut coners with me" Lagatha snapped

"I was ma'am, I even presented him with different analysis and possibilities even promises that couldn't be compromised"

"Javier" she sighed with disgust at the thought of him

"Get out. I would have to do the convincing myself" she snapped, dismissing Jennifer

"You need to calm down, mother" Andrew rolled his chair facing his mother.

"This company is falling apart and you are telling me to calm down?"

"Being angry would make you think less"

"You sound just like your father. I wonder how the both of you can be so calm in some certain daunting situations"

"It's might be a gift" Andrew smirked with his eyes transfixed to the book he was holding

"So what are you going to do about it?" he looked up to Lagatha

"I would talk to Javier"

"And you think Javier would listen to You? Think again" he said trying to supress a laughter that was threatening to erupt

"He wouldn't have a choice but to do as I say"

"Javier isn't someone you can scare easily either, you know that"

"Have you forgotten what your mother is capable of. He would have no choice but to agree with my terms by the time I am done with him"

"Hmm, we'll see"

"I think there is a problem"

"Which is?"

"I still sense Agatha's spirit"

"What do you mean, you killed her. Didn't you perform the sites properly?"

"I did, but she always had a strong spirt and I'm afraid that she could be trying to recuperate"

"That would be a nightmare, Agatha coming back from the dead. She would be filled with anger and her test for vengeance would be strong"

"I would kill her again"

"Its best we stop her from returning in the first place"

"And I would" Lagatha knew that the moment she sets her eyes on the shiel pendant, she would claim it and there would be nothing she wouldn't be able to face. Agatha would be a walk over no matter how strong her quest for vengeance might be. Lagatha looked at her son, Andrew who looked at her intently as if searching her soul. She couldn't trust him. She had always wondered what he was made off but she certainly knew that it wasn't flesh and blood. She knew she could be cruel but his depravity was out of this world. If he should ever lay his hands on that pendant, he would do the unspeakable. She remembered the first time she carried him in her hands. He was so fascinating even from birth. His spirt was different. He didn't even cry on his first contact with earth. Lagatha held him in her arms, she looked into his grey eyes and there she knew that he was from the devil

Daphne hit her fist against her palm, pacing to and fro in front of her car that was packed by the police station, waiting for Javier. The longer she stayed without hearing from Hattie, the longer she became more worried. She leaned her back against her car as she breathed out heavily. The bad feeling she kept having about this situation kept lingering in her chest. She hadn't even told Peter about Hattie. She took out her phone to call Peter but she thought against it. She wasn't sure of anything, so there was no need to raise an alarm by calling Peter. There was no cause to raise an alarm?. But why did she feel the way she did. Daphne had a good discerning ability and she kept having a feeling that something might have happened to Hattie. The thought made her tremble and she kept brushing off the thought anytime it popped up. She was still In deep thoughts when a car stopped in front of her. She wasn't a car freak but she guessed it was a bmw. A red spotless one. She stood upright in admiration of the car. The car door opened and her mouth fell open. There was no way that could be a human. He had to be God's masterpiece for him to be that gorgeous. Daphne stood in awe and admiration of the guy just few feet away from her. His features where like that of a Greek God. Literally. He started proceeding towards her, not taking his eyes off her.

Who is he and why is he coming this way?" Daphne asked herself inwardly

He stopped in front of her and Daphne gulped, shifting her gaze away from him, awkwardly

"You must be Daphne?" She heard her name and turned back to him

"You know me?" she asked, tilting her head to the right side in astonishment

"I'm Javier"

Goodness gracious. She almost exclaimed. There was no way this was the Javier that Hattie spoke about

"Pardon?"

"The guy you just spoke to on the phone" he said again

"Oh yeah" she said snapping back into reality

"But how did you know it was me who called, have we met before?" She asked, it was really confusing how he just walked up to her like he had met or seen her before .

"You are right, we haven't met" Javier had totally forgotten that he had wiped her memory Into forgetting him after the incident of her and Hattie but not totally, just his apperance. Now she was confused about his identity and he didn't know where to start explaining from. He did that because he knew that if she was smart enough, she would put the puzzle piece together and find out more than she needed to know. So he manipulated her into thinking she was under the influence of alchohol to have acted that way and he also manipulated her Into forgetting his face after the matter had died down

"But that doesn't matter" he added

"Can you give me in full detail, what you saw?" He asked

"We were suppose to go out today, but she didn't call, it got me really worried so I went over to her house and the sight wasn't promising at all. She wasn't there. I became scared when I remembered how she went on about you protecting her. So i didn't know if the thing she was really afraid of had caught up with her since you guys are no longer together"

"Did you find anything off about the house. Or it just looked rough"

"She didn't take her phone and her Goddamn necklace"

"What necklace?"

"Her purple trusty necklace"

"Do you have it?" Javier had a feeling that it could be the shiel pendant and leaving it carelessly might be very bad. It would be much easier for Lagatha to get it.

"No I left it back there"

"Then we would have to get it"

"Why?"

"Hattie cherished that necklace so much, so am going to keep it with me" he thought of a possible convincing word

"You guys broke up so I will keep it"

"We weren't dating"

"Exactly" Daphne said and Javier sighed, he would have to manipulate her again into handing over the necklace. Stubbornness clearly runs in both friends blood.

"So how can I help in finding Hattie?" Daphne asked. She needed to do something rather than the police who might not be able to do anything about this situation

"You don't need to worry about it, just leave it to me"

"I have no choice but to worry. She is my friend and I can't stay away"

"You would never understand" even Javier was confused himself. Why wasn't he able to sense Hattie in danger.

It was almost as if their they were tied together, as if they shared the same emotions. Javier was able to feel and sense everything that Hattie felt, so why was he not able to sense this particular one. If Hattie was kidnapped, there was no way he wouldn't know. Anytime Her heart beat increased, his would follow suite so he had no explanation to this. Except she wasn't kidnapped In the first place. That was the only possible explanation

"Aren't you gonna say anything?" Daphne snapped in frustration

"I think we should wait. If she doesn't show up then I will find her" he said with determination filled In his voice. There was no way that Hattie was kidnapped and he couldn't feel it. If she wasn't kidnapped then where did she go? Leaving her phone  behind. There was no way to reach her to ask where she was and that alone made Javier panic

"You sound just like the police" Daphne rolled her eyes

"We can't just make any assumptions"

"Ok then let's wait" she said

"Don't worry I will look into this myself" he said

"I will keep you posted if she shows up" Daphne said opening her car door

"I'll see you later javier" she said as she got into the car and drove off

Javier stood there still confused by the whole thing. Something was definetly wrong somewhere. He could feel it but it wasn't strong. He couldn't make assumptions because he wasn't sure about that theory of Hattie being taken. His mind drifted to Andrew. He just couldn't help it. Andrew had been looking for an opportunity to get to Hattie for a long time and their sudden seperation would serve as a perfect opportunity for Andrew to get Hattie. The thought of Andrew laying his hand on Hattie made his boil boil. If Andrew really had Hattie that means he did something to mask up the feeling so that Javier wouldn't be able to track her and to do that, he needed strong powers for it and Andrew wasn't that powerful to tamper with someone's feelings, that was just like tampering with nature. A lashedta is capable of manipulating people into believing something else but they couldn't tamper with someone else's feelings. Andrew must have somehow found out that they were connected to each other so he disconnected the two of them so that Javier won't be able to feel what Hattie felt. That was an almost impossible task to do. He needed to be sure, he wasn't going to wait. If by any chance, Andrew has her, he wouldn't want Hattie to spend even if it was a minute with Andrew. Andrew was always capable of the unthinkable, corny as ever. Javier wondered why he wasn't a hyran instead of a lashedta. Javier knew that Andrew was dangerous and Andrew knew that Javier was more deadly. He just needed to find out if his assumption where true and if they were, Andrew would breath his last on planet earth

Javier walker back to his car still in thought. The Cartels finally had two sisters. Fay was gone, Hattie too. He needed to do something to make sure that Hattie was safe and if he ever lays his eyes on Hattie he wouldn't let her her go, even though she wanted it or not. He was ready to keep her against her will as long as she would be protected and until he ends every single Cartel.
