Hattie slept on the chair she was sitting on.  Her head kept swaying to different position as a result of nothing to rest it on. She hadn't slept for days out of fear of what Andrew would do her. It was quite absurd for her to think that way because Andrew could hurt her any time he wanted to. He wouldn't care if she was asleep or wide awake. She wondered why he found joy in causing her pain. Why didn't he just kill her? It would be better that going through this constant torture. She couldn't even cry anymore. It was almost as if she exhausted so her tears. She was hopeless, helpless. She just couldn't help the feeling.

The door to the room opened and she shut her eyes open. Her heart skipped a beat. He has come to do what he enjoys best, inflict pain on her. Her heart sunk at the site of him.

"Hattie darling" he said in a playful British accent. She wasn't fooled. She knew that he tends to hurt her more when he was this bubbly. She shifted uncomfortable on her seat. The migraine she felt was not compared to the pain she felt on her thighs. The crazy part about this whole situation was that whenever Andrew hurts her, he would tend to the injury. It was almost as if he was tending to them, to preserve her and prevent her from dieing so as to inflict more pain on her.

"Why do you look moody?" he asked amidst a chuckle but Hattie didn't give him a reply

"What do you want from me?"

"It was originally the pendant. But change of plans, let's get married, the lashedta way" 

"Are you out of your mind. And you think i would follow your term. No matter how much you torture me, I would never agree to your terms"

"You don't have a say. Mephistopheles would bond us and no other person would be able to take you away from me"

"Who is mephistopheles?"

"The leader of the lashedtas"

"Now listen I don't care about who he is and what he can do. I'm  not getting married to you!" She yelled in his face. He smacked he hard across the face, glaring at her in disgust.

"I told you, watch you tone when talking to me, It would save you from all this troubles" he said pointing his finger on her body, referring to the bruises

"You monster!" She shouted still not caring about what he just said

"There you go again, everly so stubborn. I don't like hurting you but you just keep testing my patience. Don't make me hurt you, future wife" he snickered and Hattie almost lost it.

"I would never be married to you. Or else you get married to my corpse. As long as I am alive, you won't get what you want"

"And you thing I can't marry your corpse?" He laughed

"I married a corpse once. I proposed to this certain girl. She declined so I killed her and married her corpse. But it was too exhausting to insert her with different chemical to preserve her so I left her. She began to rot. I had not choice but to let her go. It was quite fun while it lasted. And mind you, no one says no to me. I always get what I want. Don't keep your hopes high. Javier won't save you, he would have to find you first inorder to do anything. And I'm not that stupid not to hide your tracks. My dear Hattie, you are stuck with me. There is no escaping. This is reality"

"Why am I not surprised?" Hattie knew psychopaths well enough, they loved these things. They could go extra miles just to get what they want. Killing was never a problem for them

"I wasn't wrong about you being a psychopath" 

"Oh please, even your darling Javier is just like me and you know it"

"Save whatever you want to say because am not gonna hear it" even though he could be right, she couldn't bear the thought of him crucifying Javier

"He killed your boyfriend and filmed it. Do you know the satisfaction of having to watch a clip of how you murdered someone brutally, continuously. He is just like me but he is just hiding it. Trying to look like the perfect guy in the picture."

"He can never be like you, he has a heart and you dont"

"What if his heart is made up of rocks instead of blood". He shot back.

"Javier is just like me .He is obsessed with you. Don't put the blame on only me. Do you think Javier can't hurt you? Well think again."

"I don't want to hear whatever you say"

"Whichever way, we are getting married. Your wounds just need to heal and we would start the ritual. When we get married, Javier won't he able to get his hands on you, except he wants to challenge mephistopheles"

"I hate you" Hattie whimped, sniffing continuously as tears came rolling down her cheeks

"But I love you dear"

"You dont. You don't know what love is. You just want to get married to me so that you can hurt anytime you like"

"I would never hurt you my darling. As long as you keep this big mouth of yours shut and do whatever I tell you to"

"I would rather die"

" and I would be glad to grant that wish. Don't test me"

"Oh I almost forgot. Do still want to go through pain or you are going to tell me where the pendant is?" He smirked.

"You would just have to kill me first"

"Oh Hattie" he snickered, 

"You are just so difficult" he added

"I know you would kill my sister if I hand the pendant"

"You do not have a say in that and for the last time, I am not with your sister, my mother is. She doesn't even know I have you, If she does, she would take you with her"

"Is she looking for me?"

"Of course, she found out that you are Fay's half sister. Agatha's off spring. So you are not safe anywhere"

"Javier would come for me"

"Dear Hattie you have no shame anymore? Anyways he won't be able to find you so he won't rescue you from me"

"He would, you can't keep me here forever"

"That is the exact plan, keeping you forever"

"Even if I have to escape by my self, I would"

"And you thing you can? I would track you down and take you back in" Andrew said and Hattie's heart sunk at the thought if him having her where he wanted

"You can't run away from me, Hattie"

" Hattie is missing" Javier blurted out and he could tell Bella was shocked by the news 

"She left?"

"No she was taken and I suspect the cartels. I don't know if it is the mother or the son"

"How long have she been missing?"

"For over 3 days, the police are investigating it and I know they wont find her. Plus Daphne is on my neck about finding her"

"Poor girl, can't you track her?"

"No I can't. Andrew disconnected the two of us"

"Wait you are In love with her. Because from what you are saying, you feel connected to her?"

"Yes Bella I love her and I was to blind to see it before"

"How is that even possible. After a first love, a lashedta's heart remains shut for ever"

"I seriously don't have a explanation for that. I just need to get her out"

"Any plans"

"None, I can't even track the both of them. Lagatha denied ever having anything to do with Hattie. I still doubt her. Am so confused" Javier ran his hands through his head in exasperation.

"You met with Lagatha?"

"Yes and she said and promised alot"

"What do you mean by promise?"

"She wants me to end the contract deal with Harry"

"How crazy. The deal has been sighed a long time ago, why bother about it now. That woman is unbelievable"

"Turns out she originally wanted to sign with Harry but he change plans and sighed with me instead. Thanks to my convincing skill.  I never knew That her company also wanted to sign with Harry's"

"Did she expect you to just do as she said"

"It was two options actually. Either I terminate the contract or mother dies"

"What do you mean?"

"You heard me, she is going to kill mum if I don't terminate the contract"

"Have you terminate the contract?"

"Of course not"

"Are you crazy. You have to"

"Stop being pathetic Bella, if i terminate the contract because of that threat, they would keep on threatening me for the same reason.  Agreeing to their term would show weakness"

"So you are doing this for you own selfish interest?"

"No Bella, I can protect mother so there is no need for the troubles"

"How the hell are you going to protect her. She is bloody California and there is no way you can convince her to come over to chicago"

"She is too far deep with her darling felix" Javier stated sarcastically

"Whichever way, you are going to terminate that contract"

"Lagatha can't tell me what to do"

"Just drop your ego and listen to me, turn down the contract. We would find an alternative way to run the company"

"Father entrusted that company to me, I can't let it go down the drain"

"At the expense of mother?"

"I can protect her"

"How sure are you about that"

"100 percent"

"Listen to me" Bella raised her fingers to Javier's face

"I Don't care if you have this under control, if anything happens to mother, I would never forgive you"

"Don't you get me Bella? If I agree to this, I would be putting everybody's life In danger. Lagatha is very corny. If this method of hers works, she would keep on using it and that would be putting you, Hattie, mother and everyone around me in danger, don't you get me Bella? he yelled in her face And Bella nodded on realisation

"So what should we do now" Bella admitted more sober 

"I tried convincing mother to come over to Chicago but she already refused"

"Mum would never think of staying permanently at Chicago. Except for a visit"

"We would have to think of something then"

"And fast, we do not know when Lagatha would strike"

"What are you going to do about Hattie?"

"I would have to find Andrew first to determine where she is. I am 67% sure that he is with her"

"How was Andrew able to disconnect the both of you from each other"

"To do that, one would need strong magic. I have a feeling that mephistopheles helped him out" Javier stated

"I would not be surprised, he is as corny as hell" Javier added addressing mephistopheles.

"I wouldn't say that if I were you. Do you want to be ensnared?"

"I have never cared about that before"

"Well you have to, mephistopheles does not entertain traitors"

"He is the devil for crying out loud. That is what he is best none for. I shouldn't be the one lecturing you" Javier sighed in exhaustion

"Anyway, you think he could be working hand in hand with mephistopheles for him to be able to posses the powers to disconnect the two of you?"

"That is the possible explanation for all of these"

"I never knew he would go that far"

"Mephistopheles never makes a deal with someone without a catch"

"Of course, making deals with the devil is always drastic" Bella snickered 

"Andrew

 is selfish. He can do anything as long as he gets what he want"

"All these to get powerful for a goddamn necklace" Bella remarked

"Do you really think, he took Hattie just for the pendant? He probably did it to hurt me, since he can't hurt me physically. If his aim is to get to me, I don't think he would stop at just kidnapping Hattie, he would probably do worse. Thats why i need to find her first"
