Finding out Stephanie's where about was the first step, getting her to free up Fay was the second and leaving Chicago for good was the last. She just needed to find Stephanie.
Hattie stired the oat meal that was almost ready. She switched off the electric cooker and dished it. She really needed to start eating. Daphne was already on her neck about how skinny she looked lately. She won't let her hear the end of it. Truth be told, Hattie couldn't help but agree more, she couldn't even look at her self in the mirror. She felt different, she had lost that Javier's glow. She was just her normal empty self.
Hattie forced the oath meal down her throat, with an elbow at the dinning table. She lacked the appetite to eat but she had to, faling sick was the last thing she wanted for her self. Everybody at the office noticed her emaciation.
Aida became really worried about her mental health because of how depressed she recently became. She was the psychologist but she really needed someone to counsel her because she was swimming in misery. She was still on her oat meal when she felt coldness at her back. Instantly, she became familiar with the sensation. There was only one person capable of having such presence. She stiffened in her seat, as the gulped.
"I'll be back but i won't be this friendly" she remembered his last words, the day he gave her a visit in her room. Her hands trembled as she gripped unto the edge of the spoon. No one could protect her, she was on her own. Hot sweat came right out her body, despite the coldness she felt
"Hattie" she heard a faint whisper with a slight giggle. Hot tears found it way out of her eyes again. She was done for. She sobbed loudly. She knew begging won't help, he was finally here to kill her.
"Where is your loving Javier?" She heard the whisper again
"Just show your self" her voice craked as a result of the fact that she was crying.
"So you did all of this, so that you could get to me?" She cried loudly
"It's fine, it's fucking okay, you have me now. My life had always been worthless anyway" she yelled
Andrew appeared from behind her, holding on to the chair that she was seated on. She could see his reflection through the glass that the dinning table was made off. He had a slight smile on his face, A victorious smile. Andrew brushed her hair slightly off her face, as he ran his hands from her head, down to her breast top
"I thought you were gay?" Hattie said with disgust
"I can compromise for you" he said and Hattie started sobbing again
"What do you want from me?" Hattie said amidst tears
"I know what my mother did was brutal, but I have no idea about it. Why punish me?"
"What your mother did was more than brutal. And I also need to teach you some manners"
"You already killed her"
"Yes Lagatha did, but I was never given an opportunity to vent my anger"
"What have you guys done with Fay?. My sister" Hattie shot at Andrew.
"Oh, I guess Javier told you alot. She is still alive, hopefully. But not for long"
"How heartless can you bloody Cartel be" Hattie tried asking, but like a flash. Everything happened so fast. She looked around and she discovered that she was sitted on a chair in a dark room, strap to the chair. She tried to wiggle her hands out but it had a strong grip around her hand. She was confused and devastated at the same time. One minute, she was telling Andrew how much she hated him and the next, she was tied up to a chair.
"Sorry for the transmissions" Hattie heard Andrew's voice in the darkness, along with loud footsteps
"I prepared this place personally for you"
"What are you going to do to me?"
"Alot. I would start by taming that mouth of yours"
"Let me Go, this minute" Hattie demanded
"Just as authoritative like Javier. It's funny because Javier won't be able to save you this time"
"I don't need him"
"You would, when you would be screaming for help. Where is the pendant?"
"What pendant" Hattie said and Andrew let out a chuckle
"I am the only one that know that you are Fay's sister. If the pendant is not with Fay, then it has to be with you. Don't play dumb with me"
"I don't know what you are talking about?" Hattie said proving tough. Showing weakness would be a wrong approach to the matter. The tears that she had been previously shedding, dried up
"Look Hattie, I have a way of making people talk. Causing pain to people is what I do most and I love it"
"Of course. You psychotic bastard" she spat
"Save that voice, you would be needing a lot of it later" he said amidst the darkness. He switched on a torch light and she was almost blinded by the light. She took the time to notice the state of where she was. It was just a tiny room, no wonder she felt stuffed and hot. She looked up to where Andrew was, but She couldn't see his face because he was standing right behind the brightly shoned light. Andrew walked more closer to her, she tried shifting away but the only thing she could move was her face. He raised his hand to her thigh and sipped it under her dress. She gulped and wished that she had worn trousers Instead. His hands roamed freely, caressing her thighs, he lifted up her dress, exposing a little portion of her panties.
"You see this?" He pointed at the scar In her thighs
"I did this to you" he added
"What do you mean?" Hattie said catching her breath as she stared at Andrew in disgust
"I burnt you with a knife on the 2nd day of your arrival on earth. I was just six then. But still crazy"
Hattie shrieked at the thought. This man had access to her while she was little.
"How did you know?"
"I heard my mother talking about your mother and her marriage to a human. Back then, I hated The word 'human' I saw them as weaklings and distractions. I hated how slow they were, I hated everything about them. I was so crazy at a tender age" he said with a chuckle
"So at that age, I took it upon myself to kill you. Having my power since birth was an advantage. At age 6, I knew almost everything about my powers and lashedtas. I sneaked into your room that night. Your mother was still too weak, so she couldn't sense my presence. I stared at you at the cot, Sleeping so peacefully. I hated it. The sharilt knife at my pocket that I stole from my mother, found it's way to my hands. My aim was to to amputate all your limbs. I started with your leg. But you cried too much so i had to leave. You had always being a kill joy right from birth"
Hattie's heart sunk on hearing the story. She would have been killed long ago by him if luck wasn't on her side
"And you had always been a psychopath even from birth" she snapped
"You have such a sharp mouth" Andrew said, bringing his hand to her face and slowly caressing her bottom lips. Hattie felt agitated and bit his hand as hard as she could, almost tearing his skin, causing him to pull back his hand as he winced in pain, scrowling at her.
"That's the line" he said looking at his index finger that Hattie had almost ripped off. Hattie was really disappointed. Her aim was to take it off, clean, but it didn't even draw blood. At least he felt pain
"I would have to teach you a lesson. You don't know who you are messing with. Am sure you would scream more than Rita did, while I amputated her leg"
"Who is Rita?"
"My latest and freshest victims"
"Why did you kill her?"
"Common Hattie, I already told you about it in your office. I came for counselling, remember?. And plus I killed her because she kind of reminded me of you. Her smile was too bright, it became annoying"
"You monster!"
"Trust me, you haven't seen anything. People have called me worse. And come to think of it, I actually love the name. It suits my reputation"
Hattie almost lost it. She didn't even know where to begin. First of, she found out that the man she is in love with, murdered her boyfriend in cold blood, second of all, she learnt that a stranger she took in was her half sister and thirdly and most definetly not the last because she knew that they was more coming. She was being held hostage by a psychotic lunatic.
"Back to buiseness and I want you to think clearly about a reply before giving me one" he said more calmly but with a venom filled voice
"Where is the pendant?"
****************
Javier hit his head on the hard table as a result of the alcohol. He groaned in pain. He plunged the 5th bottle of drink into his mouth. He had never drank so much before. No one was here to tell him to stop. Hattie wasn't here to take the bottle away from him and start her anger display. Javier felt the ache in his heart. He wondered why it felt too painful. He didn't mean to cause her alot of pains.
Javier remembered coming into Hattie's office and seeing that mark on her arms. He instantly knew it was Westin because he had been unto the two of them lately. He knew how Westin was bossy and demanding to Hattie. Javier thought to ignore it but after finding out that Westin was cheating, he couldn't help himself.
Westin had just finished coming from a club that night and Javier was already waiting for him in his apartment. Westin saw to it, that he drank a little before going to bed. He sat in the sitting room for a while, languishing on the bottles and the pleasure they brought. Javier sat on his bed in his bedroom, waiting for him to walk through the door. He saw to it to inform Hattie of her boyfriend's up coming death. Along side, picture of the murder weapons that he had brought. A sharilt knife, a regular hammer, a hand gun and a razor, asking her to choose one.
He rembered starting with a razor, tearing the skin around Westin's leg, torturing him a little. Then he took the knife, stabbing him continuously. He loved it, he loved the cries that escaped from dieing Westin's lips. That was what he got for ever laying his hands on Hattie, for cheating on her, for making her feel worthless sometimes, for moulding her into what he wanted not what she wanted. Westin layed weak on the floor with his eyes barely opening. He was still alive, Javier could still feel his heart beat. He wasn't satisfied. He took out a hammer and continuously smashed his head with it. He finally shot him in his already torn stomach. Javier was finally satisfied with what he had done. He smirked. This was how he would murder anybody who tried to lay a finger on Hattie.
The bottle slipped from his hand to the floor, causing it to shatter. He felt nothing, he felt empty, he didn't know how he felt. Who would have ever told him that a girl leaving him would cause him a lot of pain. She was creeping slowly into his heart and he never took notice of it. Her departure came in like a shock to his whole system. He had never felt like this in his whole 35 years of life experience. Even when zenni was killed, he didn't feel like this. How was this happening to him?. It felt like love and that was almost impossible. He couldn't lie to himself anymore, he couldn't run away from the truth, he couldn't hide it either. He had fallen in love with Hattie and he had fallen to deep that he couldn't get up. There was no way he could manoeuvre himself out of it. He needed to get Hattie back and he would die trying. He had always been in love with her. That explains his obsession to her right from the start. He loved everything about her, ranging from the little detail that no one really cared about. He found out that his life had become more better ever since Hattie came around. He had someone to look forward to seeing the next day. She was gone, his life had returned back to the darkness that it had originally been. He heard a knock at the front door but he was too exhausted to go get it. He was tired of everything.
"Javier?" the voice called out from outside, it was Bella
"Are you In there?" She called out again when he wasn't responding. He still didn't respond. She gave up and pushed the door open and came faced with Javier who was drowning in alcohol.
"My God Javier, you are still drinking" she asked. The place was in really bad shape, ranging from the glass bottles that was shattered on the floor
"What happened here and what is this that I hear about Hattie and you?"
"She left, there is nothing more to hear or for me to say"
"Why did she leave. And you bloody told her about us?"
"I trust her"
"Trust doesn't work in this case. That was top secret. What do you think would happen when she starts blabbing to her friends" Bella snapped
"Hattie is not like that" he shot
"Why did she leave?"
"She found out I killed Westin" Javier slurred
"Who the hell is Westin?"
"Her ex boyfriend"
"The fuck Javier! Why would you do that?"
"He laid his hands on Hattie. He used a knife on her"
"But still. I'm not sure she wanted him dead"
"He would have kept on hurting her if I kept him alive and Hattie was too controlled by him. Leaving him would have been so difficult for her to do. So I had to end her misery by killing him"
"And you expected her to be proud of you?"
"She wasn't suppose to find out. She even knows about the cause of Agatha's death"
"You told her, why would you do that!"
"I couldn't lie to her anymore. She had a right to know"
"Now the poor girl would be swimming in misery for what you caused her. You need to fix this. You have told her more than she needs to know and the consequence could be drastic" Bella said pointing her index finger at Javier
"I don't know how to" he wasn't lieing. He didn't know where and how to fix it.
"Javier you know you can't love her?"
"Its not that easy"
"Then you have to try. You will have a lot to answer during the council's meeting this year. Mephistopheles doesn't joke with this kind of things."
"I'm not even thinking straight at the moment. The council's meeting would take care of it self" Javier snapped already frustrated. He had been so distracted lately that he had forgotten the consequence of ever falling In love with a hyran's descendant
