Chapter 60

Beads of sweat gathered on her forehead as she stared at him in the eyes. She was doomed. No one could save her. He had finally found her. She looked around and there were the only ones on the dark street. The night was dark and silent and that part made her more scared. 

Javier wasn't here, no one was there to save her. Her heart beat became so loud and rapid that she feared that her heart might jump out of her chest.

She decided earlier that evening to visit Daphne without Javier knowing. She set out with plans of coming back as soon as possible, but Daphne and her got a little carried away and she spent more time than usual.

Fear crept into her heart as she walked through the lonely streets and she wished that she hadn't gone out so late in the first place. Now here she was, beholding the face of the man she dreaded most. Andrew

"It's good to see you again, Hattie" he said with a slight smile. "You felt running would take you away from me? You thought wrong"

"Please" that was the only word that could come out of her trembling lips. She knew she was wasting her time because Andrew was a beast with no heart and he would never listen to her no matter how much she begged. She learnt that the hard way 

"You've made me very unhappy Hattie" He said with a fake pout before erupting in laughter

"What do you want from me?" Hattie yelled as hard as she could, hoping that someone would hear and come to her rescue 

"You know what I want my dear, but you just seem too stubborn at times" he walked more closer to her. "I want you" he said with a smirk on his face.

"I hate you" 

"I know, but that doesn't matter" Andrew said and was about bringing his hands to her chin when a voice interrupted them

"I would think twice before touching her, if i were to you" the voice came and it belonged to no other person than Javier. They both looked up to Javier who stood in front of them. The look on his face held fury. 

Joy crept into Hattie's heart at the sight of him. She felt safe just by him being there.

"I knew you would come" Andrew said. He left her side and turned to Javier who had a venomous look on. "It's crazy how much you cherish her"

"Trust me, I haven't showed you how much she means to me" Javier said with gritted teeth and clenched fist by his side.

"Really?" Andrew smirked. "Show me" he blurted out and Hattie gulped. Andrew just challenged Javier to a fight. She knew Javier was powerful but Andrew was too unpredictable and dangerous. She feared the worse

"You see, Hattie would just end up becoming mine" He said, caressing her hair slowly which made her freeze. Hattie knew that he did that purposely just to piss javier off.

"Don't you dare touch her!" Javier roared and in a split second, He sent Andrew flying from where he stood, over to a nearby wall. "You have no right to touch her" Javier said more calmly, walking slowly towards Andrew. Hattie found a place and hunkered down to stay hidden incase Andrew tried anything funny.

Javier approached Andrew and held him hard by the hair, but Andrew being a corny as he was, was quick enough to attack Javier by punching him in his abdomen, making Javier groan in slight pain, as he staggered backwards.

"I got quicker" Andrew teased and the smile on his face made Hattie feel disgusted

"But not effective" Javier said as he rushed toward Andrew with full speed and pinned him down to a wall with his hand wrapped tightly round his neck. "You won't be able to escape today. The shiel pendant will pin you down" He proceeded in hitting Andrew's head repeatedly against the wall.

Andrew gathered enough strength and managed to flip Javier over, but Javier didn't give him that chance to pin his down. He pushed Andrew to the floor and his back made a powerful impact on the hard floor, causing a little crack on the floor. 

He bounced back on his feet, as though he was clearly unaffected. He rushed towards Javier but Javier was quick enough to outsmart him. Javier pinned him to the floor, holding his neck tightly with his nail digging into the skin around Andrew's neck. His other hand found it way to Andrew stomach and it dug it way through the skin, twisting it about. Andrew gasped as he felt the excruciating pain and Javier smiled in satisfaction as he watched his long time enemy go through pain. He stopped his assault and glanced at Andrew who layed weak on the floor. 

"It's over now" Javier said and he finally snapped Andrew's neck out of his body which made Hattie scream in horror. He turned to Hattie and held Andrew's head up high. "I promised you, remember?" He said with a slight smile and Hattie managed to nod as a result of the state of shock that she was in

Javier dropped the head close to the body and they both watched as Andrew faded off before he finally disappeared 

"It's finally over Hattie" he smiled and Hattie smiled back. Her safety was ensured now that Andrew was finally out of the way. Despite the fact that she just went through shock at the sight of someone's head being ripped off, she still still felt joyful. He was gone.  He was finally gone. She could finally sleep at night without worrying if he would creep into her room through the window.

"Let's go home" javier said calmly and held her by the hand and they both vanished home.

"I still don't understand the long face" Bella stood hands akimbo. "You should be happy, all our enemies have been destroyed, Agatha is gone, Andrew is gone, Lagatha is getting weaker by the day and would most definetly die. Is that not enough reason for you to be happy?" Bella asked in astonishment.

"I am happy" Javier blurted our after few minutes of total silence

"You are joking" Bella rolled her eyes at him. "What's the problem?" Bella asked. 

Javier looked at his sister and he could not bring himself to tell her what the problem actually was. He had made the decision to tell her what the deal with mephistopheles was, but he couldn't bring himself to utter the words out of his mouth. It felt heavy for his lips to carry. He knew he won't be able to hide the truth from her any longer. She had a right to know and so did Hattie.

"Well?" She asked again when he stayed in silence for over a minute.

"It's about the deal?" Javier finally spoke.

"What about it. Ha mephistopheles finally told you what he wants?"

"He actually told me what he wanted a long time, But I couldn't bring myself to tell anyone"

"What's that?" Bella asked in a calm tone, but her heartbeat was rapid. She knew that her brother wasn't the type to be easily affected, so for him to be so gloomy, them the deal had to be something huge and she feared the worse. "What does he want?"

"He wants me" Javier blurted out and Bella could see the pain in his eyes

"What do you mean by that?" Bella shot.

"He wants my soul" Javier replied

"You are making less sense Javier" Bella said and the panic in her voice was noticeable

"I would be trapped in hell for eternity"

"What?" Bella said in a whisper. She suddenly started laughing so hard and Javier wondered what was so funny. "You are really bad at playing pranks" she said with the smile not leaving her face.

"I really wish it was all a prank" Javier said and the look in his eyes made Bella realise that he was really serious

"Javier no" she shaked her head. "You have to tell me you are joking" she stared at him intently, hoping he would laugh out and tell her that it was all a joke, but she got nothing. "Please" she begged but his reaction was still the same

"I'm sorry, Bella" Javier said with a heavy heart

"No no no. Javier you are not sorry. You are lying to me and I am not going to tolerate it" Bella yelled at him with the anger building up inside off her

"It's the truth Bella" Javier said and Bella lost it. She threw the bottle of wine on the floor, causing it to shatter.

"No Javier, no!" She screamed at the top of her voice, going around, smashing anything she could find. "How could you do such a thing to me!" She screamed 

"Bella calm down" javier advised, trying his best to calm her down but she was all over the place

"Don't tell me to calm down. What do you expect me to do when you went and made a silly ass deal behind my back. Hun? how do you want me to feel" Bella asked, panting heavily as a result of her display

"Listen to me"

"I don't want to listen to what you have to stay.  You just said you are going to leave me, what do you expect me to do, be happy?"

"It was not that simple, I was left with no choice"

"What kind of love is this, you would be dead and she would be alive. Does that make sense to you!?"

"Fuck it Bella!" He screamed in her face. "You and I know that our life had always been a mess. Lashedtas are pathetic creature. I would  have done anything to end this misery that I was subjected to by the devil.

"Javier" she whispered. The anger had totally vanished, now tears were welling up in her eyes. "How could you do this to me. Javier" she sobbed. "I thought we were in this together?. We promised each other, when we were kids to always stay by each other side. Why did you break that promise" she spoke with a broken heart as the tears flowed down her cheeks, uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry" Javier said. That was the only thing he could say as a result of how heart broken he felt. Seeing his sister cry was never a pretty sight. She was a strong woman and seeing her cry, meant that she was indeed hurt, deeply.

"When will it happen?" 

"Anytime from now" He blurted out and Bella resumed her sobbing 

"I don't think I could ever forgive you for this javier" 

"You don't mean that"

"You didn't think of How i would feel before making such a deal"

"Have you forgotten so soon Bella, it was a blank deal. I didn't have a choice.  Mephistopheles did it in such a way that I would have to fulfil it, No matter the cost. He hates my guts"

"Javier i... i..." She stammered as a result of how much she was crying

"Bella don't do this" he walked closer to her, addressing her tears. "This won't help the situation. As much as I appear tough, deep down, I am scared Bella and seeing you cry is really adding to my anxiety" Javier spoke calmly

"What do you expect from me? I just found out that my brother is going to leave me for eternity. Word can't explain how I feel right now" Bella said and her sobbing continued. "How are you even going to tell mum about all of this?"

"I would think of a way but first, you need to calm down" Javier spoke

"I can't" Bella said and there was truth to what she said. She couldn't calm down, No matter how much she tried. She was losing her mind and she feared that she might develop a mental issue. How she wished that she could reverse all of this and make him stay, she really wished that they were never made lashedtas and she cursed the day, she became one
