Chapter 176

The moment I see Clay gleefully eating a bowl of ice cream my heart almost skips a beat. It doesn't almost, it actually skips a beat, it skips several beats and for a moment I am just too stunnned standing there, watching him.

It seems the Clay that I had always seen in school was oddly different from this one. He was different from this one that was so delightedly eating a bowl of ice cream and making it seem like he was enjoying heaven's embrace at this moment. The Clay I know from school was the one who had the hard face, the one who had a stunningly handsome hard face and who wouldn't stop staring at anyone else but me, but here he was so delightedly eating ice cream that he didn't even notice my arrival.

Well he didn't notice it until now. It seems the effect of my staring has taken it's toll as his eyes snap immediately in my direction like he knew exactly where the stare was coming from.

Like he already knew who was staring at him, my heart is beating so erratically that I cannot understand why. Why am I feeling so happy at the fact that I had seen someone else happy at just the main action of eating a bowl of ice cream, why was I so elated and agitated at the fact that I had seen someone who was probably going through a hard phase of his life right now, I had seen him being so happy from something as simple as eating a bowl of ice cream.

It made me feel warm and fuzzy at the same time and I'm guessing that should not have to do with the delighted smile that comes on his face the moment he sees me, and for some weird reason he actually waves, like he waves to us and ushers us to come sit down.

This scares the hell out of me, it scares the hell out of me that I am seeing this new side to Clay, this new side that he has never shown me before, this new smile that I doubt I have ever seen on him before.

Oakley simply gives him something of a small smile as she's still depressed and what just happened, and walks over to his seat leaving me standing there like a bimbo.

She simply walks towards him and she takes a seat opposite him leaving the only other available seat in between the both of them. She motions to a waiter and I know she's going to order something outrageous and ridiculous if I don't get there in time.

Sure enough I walked as fast as my legs would carry me, and the moment I was there I was able to catch something about a jumbo supreme, like she could ever finish a jumbo supreme in just one day. That other was the sort of order that you would make for parties, but here she was ordering it like she wanted to just eat enough ice cream to forget all her sorrows.
