Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

The Governor's Son Is Mine

Ify had seen the message Lanre sent concerning what to give to Chibuzor to stop the stooling. She already had it done, and it worked. He stopped stooling after 20 minutes. She had offered to give him something to eat so he can have strength, but he refused saying he didn’t want to suffer again.

Now Ify’s concern was no longer directed towards Chibuzor. Her concern was on Lanre. She kept looking at the time as it kept moving. She has been trying Lanre’s phone, but the response she keeps getting is either the number she dialled is not valid or does not exist. Ify was tired of it all. She was at the verge of calling Lanre’s mother.

“Lanre where are you na? What sort of thing is this? Look at the time, it is already 9pm and this girl is still not back!” Ify said to no one in particular. There was no one with her in the room but herself. She stood up from the chair which she sat on and went out of the house. She went over to one of their neighbours who is a guy.

“Fred, I need your help. I don’t know what to do. Lanre has been out since this afternoon and is not yet back. I can’t even reach her. I don’t know what to do”. Ify said. The guy just looked calmly at her.

“Didn’t she inform you of where she was going to?” Fred asked Ify. Ify told him Lanre had not informed her of where she was going to. “She was eating when I got into the house and scolded her for doing something bad. Then she stood up and left the house”. Ify said.

“She didn’t reply you anything?” Fred asked. Ify told him she only got a sarcastic reply from Lanre. Fred asked Ify to try Lanre’s number again. Ify did and it was still the same response she got. She looks at Fred. She was about bursting out with tears. “Fred what should I do? It’s already 9 pm and she is not back”. Ify said.

After thinking for a while, Fred asked Ify if she knows anywhere that Lanre would have love to go to. Ify told him she already called the few friends she a d Lanre shares but that none of them had seen Lanre. She told Fred that aside from the friends they shared, Lanre does not have any friends again. Fred laughed. “What about her boyfriend?” He asked.

“She does not have a boyfriend”. Ify replied. “That’s a lie!” Fred said not believing what Ify said that Lanre does not have a boyfriend. “Fred, she does not have a boyfriend ok. They broke up like a year ago”. Ify said. “Whoa! I’m finding it hard to believe that a beautiful girl like Lanre no get boyfriend”. Fred said code mixing. Then he told Ify that Lanre was a grown up and she shouldn’t bother herself too much. “Maybe she doesn’t want to be disturbed so she turned off her phone or put it on airplane mode or something”. Fred said.
