Where Is She?

Lanre decided to help Christian slice the remaining tomato. Then she did same with the pepper. After which, she removed the noodles from its pack and puts it inside a pot. She felt satisfied that at least she was helping at. She felt it must be important since Christian was yet to come back to the kitchen after ten minutes. But it was all to her advantage. She finally got a chance to help him.

“Bastard!” An angry looking K said immediately Christian opened the door. Christian was not expecting K to be at his place. Was K trailing him or what?

“Guy, why de call me bastard? And why your face swell up?” Christian asked K why he looked angry and why he had called him bastard. K pushed Christian aside and walked into the house. He was pissed and would hit Christian if not that he had an ounce of self control left in him.

“Where is she?” K asked. Christian frowned. It seems K was actually trailing one of them. Christian pretended not to know who K was talking about. And like last time, he asked K who it was he was looking for. According to him, the word “she” is a general pronoun used for females. And it can also be used to refer to something like a building or a pet especially when giving it much value.

K gave Christian a displeasing look. Then he told Christian to cut off the games and tell him where she is at. Christian told him yet again that she was not the name of anybody, so he could not answer such question unless K specifies by making mention of the person’s name.

“Why are you doing this Christian? You are supposed to be helping me and not taking her for yourself”. K said. Christian scoffed. He told K that he should forget about being helped because Lanre was not his to own.

“K accept it, you already have a fiancée. If your father had not intervene, the both of you will be matching to the altar next weekend”. Christian said. He had added the last part with the hope that K would understand and go after Lanre for real rather than staying in the shadows. But K only saw it as Christian standing in his way.

“You do not love her, why do you want to take her away from me?” K asked. Christian replied his question with a question. He asked K if he himself loves Lanre. K was unable to answer. He stepped back from Christian a little. He had not thought of it before talking. He did not even think before coming. If Lanre ever asks him why he bothers about her, what would he say to Lanre. The last time he went to her house, he only ended up asking her to be understanding of Ify. And then the kiss, he only succeeded in making her feel he only wanted to treat her like a slut.
