Lanre was trying to keep to her word by doing the make-up more faster. She even used the help of Sharon so she could finish on time. But her client kept frustrating her each time refusing to close her eyes when asked to and would mostly keep her face down pressing her phone. This got Lanre pissed. How could she want her to make it snappy when she wasn’t making it easy.
“Excuse me, but if you want to meet up with that wedding reception, you would need to follow instructions, so I can do what I best do”. Lanre said.
“I doubt this is what you best do!” The client said to Lanre. Lanre bit her lips trying to suppress her anger. She was already pissed off by the client’s lack of concentration.
“I mean, are you not Lanre the girl who’s news was everywhere? The UNN first class prostitute?” The client said. Lanre gave off a dry laugh without the humour. She could have imagined someone would come to her shop, wait for her to finish three make-up only to insult her.
“Do people like this still exist in this world!? Of course you do”. Lanre said. She turned to face Sharon asking her to send for the security.
“Are you going to call security on me? Do you know I can ruin your career in one second?” The client said. At this point Sharon clasps her mouth. The lady suddenly looked familiar. Was this who she’s thinking?
“Are you not the Gossip Queen, Mimi?” Sharon asked pointing at their client. Sharon felt strongly that the client looks like the gossip queen and she even sounded like her.
“And if I’m the Gossip Queen?” The client asked. Sharon clapped her hands dramatically.
“Whether or not you are the Gossip Queen, you will have to apologise to Lanre before leaving this place. She is not what you just called her. She is a make-up artist who is good at what she does. She owns this shop and has employed me and my colleagues. You dare to disrespect her?” Sharon said taking the client by the collar. Lanre face palmed herself.
“Sharon!” She yelled. Sharon let’s go of the lady and stepped back. Lanre asked Sharon to leave them alone sending her out of the VIP parlour. Sharon left as instructed by Lanre reluctantly.
“What do you want?” Lanre asked.
The lady folded her arms together and looked Lanre up from her feet. She smiled at Lanre.
“Your worker is rude and is lacking in rendering good customer service, should you not sack her?” She said to Lanre. Lanre shook her head telling her she does not think that was the reason why she had come since she started off by calling her a prostitute.
“You are right. K owes me, and I’m wondering if this is the perfect time to get it from him or not”. She said to Lanre. Lanre arched her brow. If Kehinde owes her, how has that got to do with her?
