You De See Wetin I De See?

Tega arrived with the car a few minutes after Lanre had gone upstairs. Eno went to call her. They both left with their luggage. They joined Tega in the car. He drove off after they got settled in the car. He first drove them to Lanre’s place at Igando and took them to the shop at Surulere after they had dropped their luggage at home. Eno was happy when they had gotten to Lanre’s apartment. She realised she missed the place. When they got to LAN’s Beauty Parlour, Lanre instructed Aaron to make Eno’s hair after he finishes the hair he is making.

“Sharon, you de see wetin I de see abi na my eye de pain me? I think say madam de sick before?” Oduak said to Sharon asking her if they were both taking notice of the same situation. She had asked Sharon if Lanre was not sick.

“What are you insinuating?” Sharon asked Oduak. Oduak frowned. It turns out she did not understand the grammar Sharon had just used. She asked Sharon what she meant by the word “insinuating”. Sharon did not tell her. Instead she told her to check it up in the dictionary. Oduak pouted her lips and creased her brows. She told Sharon it better not be that she had insulted her.

“Anyways, I be just de concerned that madam have changed. She de sick but de fresh. See as she con get body”. Oduak said to Sharon. She told Sharon about her concerns which was Lanre’s increased weight. She pointed out to Sharon that Lanre looked too good for a sick person. Sharon scoffs. She told Oduak to leave her alone and that they had work to do. But immediately Oduak left her, Sharon thought about what Oduak had said. It was indeed true. The first thing that came to her mind was that Lanre probably got better long before now and had added weight after relaxing at home for a long time. Another thought that crawled into her mind was that Lanre could be pregnant. She grinned at this thought. If Lanre is pregnant then that means she may likely get married soon. Lanre’s marriage for them would be a huge holiday.

“Please be fast with the nails. I have somewhere to go to”. A customer who Sharon was fixing her nails said to Sharon. Sharon apologised and continued with her work.

“Is she your madam, the lady that walked in not quite long ago?” The same customer asked Sharon. Sharon just pushed out her lips a little without saying a word. The customer told her if the lady was their madam then she must commend the lady was an endowment of beauty. Sharon shrugs.

“Why are you not saying anything?” The customer asked Sharon.

“We don’t gossip our madam with customers in this shop. And I’m sure you are in a haste, why waste your time?” Sharon asked using the woman’s word against her at the end. The customer hissed and told Sharon to be fast. Sharon didn’t bother to take to heart the lady’s attitude.
