The Charmer And The Snake

Eno decided to focus on her assignment. She rushed out of the car when they arrived her school with her school bag in her hand. She only realised she did not kiss Lanre goodbye as she had planned to. She decided to wave it off. It is not like it was a big deal.

She rushed into her classroom seeing that she was already late and had missed the general school assembly. She got into her classroom, luckily for her, her teacher was only entering into the class.

“Eno, are you just coming in?” The teacher asked.

“Good morning ma! I love your new hair”. Eno said trying to ignore the woman’s question by not giving her an answer.

“Oh thank you! Sit down everybody. I won’t be taking much of your time this morning, so I would need you all to cooperate with me”. The teacher said.

Meanwhile, K stood face to face with his father. His eyes had gone red. He looked at his father with anger evident in his eyes. His facial expression showed he was ready to attack the man at anytime.

“You can keep on protecting her. But she should know that in politics, there are no permanent enemies nor friends, only permanent interest”. Governor Adewale said.

“I will not harm her myself because she is carrying my grandchild which I doubt is true after Ify’s case. So senator Ojo will take care of her as he has much more to lose than I. While I will take care of senator Ojo”. Governor Adewale said.

“I thought we were working together? You said you will protect her from him and you will bring him down?” K yelled at his father. His father asked him if the charmer would keep the snake that does not dance to the charmer’s tune.

“F**k!” K cursed. He clenched his fist. He told his father he will never forgive him if anything should happen to Lanre.

“She is just one out of many women, you will forget about her and move on with your life. Because she is definitely going to die today”. Governor Adewale said.

Immediately it occurred to K that Lanre will be going to Abuja that day. But she did not tell him what time she will be leaving. He took out his phone and tried calling her phone. At first it was not available, so he tried it again. This time it went through. Lanre answered his phone.

“Where are you?” He asked walking away from his father. His father asked him where he thinks he is going to. He tried to stop K from leaving.

“I will kill you and kill anyone that stands in my way if you dare”. K said to his father. He rushed into his car and sped out of their resident area.

He had disconnected the call, so he had to call Lanre again. He connected it to his Bluetooth.

“Lanre where are you? Please do not leave the house”. K said not knowing if the house was even safe at all.
