LA, HERE I AM!

Faith disembarked with other passagers and went through immigration to collect her baggage, when she got to the terminal, she scanned the crowded terminal from her sunglasses to check for her Afro-American friends, Nora and Danny. Her dark hair was turked into a bobble hat, few strands flew about. She was dressed in a jet black jacket, with a checked scarf wrapped round her neck, a blank pant and boots.

She saw Nora dragging Danny through the crowd and waving frantically at her. She waved back and dragged her clothe box, heading towards them. Nora was screaming as they meet each other.

"Jesus Christ! Faith is this you? Why do you look like a bag of bones?!" Nora asked loudly, her eyes wide.

"Thank you, you look good too," Faith said eyeing her and turning to Danny. "Hi, Danny."

"Hi, Faith, its good to finally see you again."

Faith flashed Danny a smile as they started heading towards the SUV parked by the side, Danny dragging Faith's box along, while Faith walked with Nora who was still looking at Nora in wonderment.

"Nora, is that...?" Faith stopped and glared at her fingers. "Is that an engagement ring?"

"Yes, darling!" Nora chirped. "You were not supposed to see it until we get home."

Faith had already stopped and clasped both hands to her lips, her eyes glassy. Nora stopped and looked at her in sympathy.

"I'm sorry if it hurts you, I mean, I knew this would remind you of what you've been through and...and, I didn't plan to tell you now, not until you're settled, I didn't know you would see it so soon..."

"Get out, Nora! This is so beautiful!" Faith said and grabbed Nora's hand.

Nora's expression switched from that of sympathy to confusion as she glanced at Danny and then went back to excitement. "You like it?"

"Like? I love it! Danny, you've done a great job."

Danny just beamed with smile. Faith knew that Danny had always been the quiet and shy one. In fact, Nora had practically asked him out in college. Nora looked over at Danny with so much love in her eyes.

"Wait, I have a feeling that...when is the wedding?" Faith asked.

"In two months time." Danny went ahead, leaving the ladies to chatter and catch up.

"You invited me here to be your chief?"

"That and many more! I'm so excited that you're here."

"I'm happy to see you too. I can't wait to pack into my new house."

"I just made payments yesterday. You would love the house, it a big and comfy one."

"I know you always come through."

They got to the SUV, Danny was done putting her luggage in the trunk of the car and circled round to go over to the driver's seat.

"I can't believe you finally convinced me to come live in Los Angeles," Faith said as she entered the back seat of the car.

"Power of friendship!" Nora hollered before sliding into the front seat where Danny was already seated and was trying to ignite the car.

Once he ignited the car and drove out of the airport to the road. Faith poked her head out of window, she was relieved, even the air here smelt like relief and she was glad she made the decision to come.

"LA, here I am!" she screamed. Nora snickered from the front seat.
