LUCKY NORA

Faith looked around the house, it was a big mansion, it was not only big, but incredibly magnificent. Danny had really planned it out all well. The front door was made of glass and the white paints on the building gleamed as if it were new. The living room was a vast one, with bright paints and a deluxe setting. White fluffy couches with different little colourful pillows. The TV was a very huge one and the chandelier got Faith staring at it. She knew Danny made it before he asked Nora to come over, but she didn't know that he made it this big.

Danny took the lead up the glass stairs and Nora had to drag Faith to climbed the stairs with them as they tagged behind Danny. Faith was amazed by the sheer beauty of the house, but she wished it had a pool.

"Your house is beautiful," she complemented.

       "Thank you," Nora said casually.

Faith leaned towards Nora's ear. "This kind of house looks more beautiful with a swimming pool."

"Oh, the pool is on the roof."

"What? Is this some sort of vacation house or something?"

"I told you the house was big enough for six persons. You wouldn't even know we are here."

"I appreciate, but this is going to make me so comfortable that I won't take my life seriously."

Danny opened a door by the left side of the hallway and Nora dragged Faith into the room.

"I hope this would do for tonight," he said, glancing around.

Faith gasped as she took in the details of the room. Her eyes went straight to the balcony that has a glass door from the room. The door was slightly open and the white drapes billowed in the wind. There was a king-size bed with antique head board within an antique nightstand and a fawn chest of drawers. The closet stood at the south side of the room, beside the door to the bathroom.

        "You like it?" Nora asked.

Faith looked at her. "Like? I love it."

"I'm glad you do like it," Danny said and rolled her box to the closet.

Faith went and slumped on the bed and laid there. Nora went and sat beside her, giggling, obviously happy that her friend was happy.

"Alright, I'll leave you ladies to have fun. Lunch is by 1:00 PM," Danny said, winked at Nora and left the room.

Faith sat up in bed and glared at Nora. "He cooks?"

"Sometimes, especially when I'm this lazy."

      "Girl, you're damn lucky."

"We all are, but it comes at different times and ways. Danny and I were not all rosy, we had our ups and downs and we still do. We've broken up more times than you could imagine."

"I don't believe that, can you survive a heartbreak?"

"I've done that a lot of times, girl!"

"So, why don't I know about it?"

"Because, I'm not a cry baby like you," Nora teased.

"What?!" Faith spanked her shoulders. "If Danny breaks your heart right now, it's gonna be loud, won't it?"

"To be honest, I don't know if I can survive it," Nora said and held her hand.

"I saw him with another woman," Faith said, her bright chestnut eyes now glassy.

"Come here," Nora said and spread her arms. Faith fell into them and sobbed.

"Well, you won't have to see him anymore, with another woman or not. Here holds a lot of hope for you," Nora said rubbing her back.
