HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND?

"I can't seem to stay away from you," Faith mimicked.  "Who says that?"

"Ethan Floyd, I guess," Nora said.  "Look, girl, you're working yourself up over this guy. He doesn't even have a problem."

Faith shot her a sharp look.  "You're saying this because you're not the one living with him."

       "No, you're too uptight."

"What? I'm too... Nora!" Faith looked at her with disbelief.

"Yes. I know that you've gone through a lot in the hands of men, but you need to loosen up a bit."

"That was what you told me for Noah, how did it turn out?"

"Well, I'm not asking you to date your roommate. Just let him be. From what I know, he's a cool guy."

        "What do you know?"

"Well, Danny ran into him yesterday at the bar, he was there with his girlfriend, Jennifer and they had drinks together. Both of them were cool according to Danny."

"He has a girlfriend now?" Faith blinked severally and looked away from Nora.  "Good riddance."  Nora was quiet, Faith had to look at her again.  "Why are you staring at me like that?"

       "Are you feeling..."

"Nora! Can you stop? Stop looking for something where there is nothing. Nothing can ever happen between him and I. It can never happen, he's not my type."

Nora's eyes widened and she covered her mouth with her palms.  "Since when was sexy, hot guys not your type? Isn't part of the reasons you can't seem to get over Noah?"

"I think it's time to leave my office," Faith said and took a pen from the table and began to write on a file.

"I wanted to leave anyway. My lunch break is over, I just needed someone to talk to, I had to come all the way here." She stood from her seat.

"Please leave," Faith said in a drawl.

"I'm leaving." She bent down and talked in a hushed voice.  "He is still sexy, remember that."

         "Get out of my office!"

Nora pranced out snickering. Faith just sat there looking at her with round eyes. When Nora was out, she sighed and smiled.

She thought of what Nora had just said. He has a girlfriend now? She exhaled. He has a girlfriend and he was always annoying her? Was the girl pretty? Was it the one she had seen at the cafe that day? She shook her head. She shouldn't be thinking about him nor his girlfriend, nor his life.

It's none of her business, right now, all she wanted to do was focus on the book she was writing. She repositioned herself on her chair, turned her laptop on and started drafting out new inspiration.

"No mom, I'm fine. You don't have to worry... I came here to do what you wanted me to do...no, I'm sorry, I can't tell you...it's a secret...I'm doing it and very soon you would see me..."  Ethan paced about the living room with a can of drink in one hand, while he held the phone to his ear with one hand.

"No, mom, this time around you're not gonna win..." The entrance door opened and Faith stepped in, her laptop and jacket clutched to her hand.

She started towards her room without saying anything  to him. He moved to her in quick strides.
