AVOIDING ME? 2

After the call, Ethan went and took his shower. He had to shave that night. Her image didn't still leave his head. He went and glanced at himself at the mirror. It was his dad that was to blame for this, if he had not come up with this stupid ideology of getting married before accessing him inheritance.

He came out of the bathroom and wiped his hair. He yawned and wore his pajamas. He was feeling hungry again and he decided to go get something to eat. He opened his door and looked towards the kitchen. Faith walked stealthily to the kitchen, without putting on the lights. He smiled and shook his head. Was she avoiding him?

He walked out of his room and walked on tiptoes towards the kitchen. The door of the kitchen was slightly open and he peeped in and saw her eating a can food. She didn't notice when he came in, he went in and stood watching her. He had a sudden urge to go stride over to her and kiss those lips again. He shook his head and closed his eyes, trying to blurt out that thought from his head. He contemplated leaving the kitchen as quietly as he had entered but he needed to address the issue.

If he was going to apologize, then he would do it, because he didn't want to enter the list of people that are called perverts. She was looking at her phone and the light from it illuminated her face.  He turned on the lights and watched her cringe.  She turned her face immediately, backing the kitchen entrance door.

"Are you avoiding me?" he asked.

She didn't answer at first, she just stood still like a statue and he wondered what was going on in her mind.

"Answer me, are you avoiding me?"

"Are you stalking me?" she retorted.

"I'm not stalking you. How can I stalk you when we live in the same house?"

"I'm not avoiding you. How can I avoid you when we live in the same house?"

"Then why are you backing me right now? Why did you stealthily walk to the kitchen? Why did you run from your work when you saw that I was home? Why...?"

"Look," she said and turned sharply to face him. Her face was looking pale.   "What happened yesterday was a mistake, I just want you to live like nothing happened. It was a mistake that should never happen again and you should please stay out of my business."

Was that it? Of course it was a mistake. She made to leave the kitchen but something compelled him to grab her, he grabbed her by the arm. Her face was alarmed, he slowly turned and squinted at her.

"You said it was all a mistake, then why are you avoiding me? Why can't you stay in the same kitchen as I am? Why is it too hot for you? Why is your heart racing right now?"

She stared at him and the memories of last night came to her mind. But she was not going to let that make her loose focus.

"I'm done here," she said and broke away from his grip.
