Chapter 11 Kitchen

"Birdy." I said calmly. "It's not what you think, I was just defending Karma, don't tell this to anyone."

"U- Uhm... okay..." Birdy said with hesitation.

I look back down at Karma, then to my relief, her yellow eyes are now open and illuminating brightly.

"W- Waves...?" Karma whispered up at me, her voice a bit distorted. "I... who..."

"Don't worry Karma, it's all over now." I said with a small smile. "As long as you're okay, all this was worth it..."

"W- What...? Everything sounds so... weird..." Karma said faintly, then she starts moving her head around and soon notice the dog that was struck by a hatchet in the face, making her gasp in shock before looking back up at me; then she starts to get up fast. "W- Was this your doing?!"

I sigh and look down at my metal claw that is stained with blood. "It was." I confessed, but I look back at her. "But... you don't remember?"

"I can hear now... see clearer. B- But, no... I don't remember... everything went black on me."

"Doesn't matter now, you're safe." I replied. I look back at Birdy, who is growling at Karma, and I glare at him. "The hell's the matter with you?"

Birdy immediately stops growling at her to focus back on me with a frown. "Nothing at all."

"Well, since you're not going to be of help, I'ma need you to leave and forget this ever happened, I need to dispose of these bodies."

"L- Leave?!" Birdy huffed. "I can help!"

"Birdy, to all of Legend's deadly Instincts that I have committed tonig-"

"Today." Karma interrupted. I look back at Karma to see her poking the hatchet. "It is currently 2 in the morning."

"I- wh- just... sigh..." I slowly look back at Birdy in defeat. "Just leave, please Birdy, I just can't right now, you shouldn't even be involved."

"B- But-"

"SHUT- please! Birdy, I am pissed and in the a pressured state of mind right now, I just can't, I'm going to jail if I don't deal with these bodies, I don't want you involved so you can also end up in fuckin' prison, so just leave! Please!" I snapped with no control of my anger. Then, in Birdy's response, he just becomes quiet while staring at me with those tearful, yellow eyes before slowly walking backwards out of the kitchen until I can't see him anymore. With a loud sigh, I look back at karma, who is looking back at me with droopy ears. "I'm... sorry..."

"Waves... I'll clean this mess, you just... go." Karma said worriedly.

"What?" I winced while looking back at Karma. "No, this is my fault, my old instincts kicked in. I made a promise not to kill anyone, but..."

"You're tired, even if you don't feel it, I can see it in your face. Just go back home for the day, this place will close down within thirty minutes by the time I'm done."

I sigh and look over at the kitchen door, then I close my eyes as they slowly start to burn. "...Fine. I'll leave. It has been one hell of a nigh- erm… day, for me anyways, there's a lot to think of."

"Be safe for me, yes? I will cover your tracks easily, but you need to just simply-"

"Relax, I know, I get it. Geez, you're too..." I couldn't help but snicker deeply, then I slowly walk out of the kitchen "Caring. You don't need to care for me all that much."

"Trust me, after everything you've done for me, it is in my power to care for you!" Karma barked aloud. "Remember that!"

"I'm already forgetting." I scoffed playfully before walking out of the kitchen, then the first thing I notice is that there isn't music, plus the club is just quiet, but the lights however are still on. Not only just all that, but a new scent starts going through my nose. I look to my left, and the scent leads up to Casantro's office. It smells a lot like...

Sniff-sniff-sniff-sniff-sniff.

...No.

I quickly run to the office. Then, I use my whole entire body to ram myself into the door, then my ears flatten as I see Casantro's brutalized body on top of his desk with his stomach gutted. My body and face starts to sicken, but I slowly approach towards his body while looking around the room, and so far, I don't see anything that can be used to kill him. However, when I got behind the desk, I can see a small safe that is wide open with a key in the lock. I slowly move my paw away from my nose and into the safe to grab the mechanized revolver I gifted to Casantro. I put the it on the floor and grab a Paws Earner, which is a small device that collects profit from an app or a market place in general. I also put that on the floor near the revolver, then what I soon found is that same small messaging device that literally no one uses during this time of year. We have Paw-Phones now, no point in having these anymore, but whoever the hell uses this could be the one who killed Casantro.

I move the device up to my face to examine it, sniff it, then lick it. No form of scent I can catch sadly. In frustration, I drop it on the floor rather than properly putting it on the floor, then a holographic screen pops up in front of me suddenly.

From Client to Casantro

Listen man, I don't trust that fucking bottom bitch of yours, Birdy, nor the price for his reservation. TWO-THOUSAND PAWS. Meanwhile, your other bitches are just HUNDREDS. Even if some crazy ass horny dog ends up reserving for Birdy, rumors has it that his performance is shit, AND he steals after they end up getting knocked out, yet you don't punish him?! Craziest scam in my damn LIFE!

That's interesting, considering that Casantro was offering me Birdy for free, but now I know that he's a con artist as a stripper... like me. Not only that, but Birdy has been openly weird in front of me.

I look back at the safe, then the last thing I see is some kind of REAL photo. I slowly move my head into the safe to grab the photo with my mouth, then I pull it out and gently place it on the floor. My eyes stare emotionally down at the photo of me, Casantro, and all the other workers, outside of Lusties. The opening of Lusties. Memories slowly start to phase into my mind while staring at Casantro only with guilt swelling inside of me.
