Where Are We Going?

By the time he came back to his senses, Xie Ai turned back to see the duo hugging one another tightly. Yu Weimin, who would always stand indifferent and cold, had a subtle hint of softness in his eyes as he patted the other's back. Qi Jungguo acted like a wounded husky as the two hugged tightly.

Xie Ai's eyes filled with envy as he clicked his tongue and moved his gaze away. "So, what happened?"

Although he didn't want to hide this aspect from them, the ghost had Yu Chen's face and even talked like that person. Just… Just the feeling of real emotions bursting through the man's eyes was something new.

When they were in a relationship, he had never known the man was acting to the point of copying emotions from others. The act was so spot-on that not even he doubted the man's intentions.

Later, when Yu Chen's mask broke off brutally by him, all he could see was an emotionless, cold, and indifferent face that looked at him until he felt a chill down his spine. At that time, he finally understood what was going on.

The Yu Chen he saw much later was the person who couldn't feel a thing. This kind of sickness was called Alexithymia, and the person diagnosed with this kind of illness would find it difficult to identify and express their emotions.

But the ghost Yu Chen was genuinely confused, and this was the first time he had seen the man looking at him blankly. He even saw a hint of surprise and excitement when he saw the ghost could sleep with him.

It was novel… after all, there was a clear distinction between fake emotions and real ones, no matter how good of an actor you are.

But he also knew that the ghost was probably taking up Yu Chen's face for fun to lure him into his trap. The reason why he didn't want to tell Yu Weimin about it was because it involved Yu Chen. It was difficult to raise that topic in front of the cold and indifferent Yu Weimin.

Maybe he should first see what's up tonight before consulting with others.

"Hey, Xie Ai, are you even listening?" Qi Jingguo waved his hand in front of him and frowned. "What are you zoning about here? Did you encounter something strange?"

"Just a little ghost…." Xie Ai blurted out those words, and he suddenly realized what he had just said and shook his head. "Nothing."

Yu Weimin grabbed his lover's hands when the latter was about to open his mouth and said, "That's fine. Take your time. Let's go and find more information about this instance. We need to find the story first."

"The story?" Xie Ai's curiosity rose inexplicably as the three of them started walking through the corridor.

"As we know, every instance has a key NPC and a window to take us out. But it's also harder to find the key NPC. For that, we have to know the story related to them. Every instance has one.

"You'll be able to find it by probing around." Yu Weimin paused as he looked at the white-haired man with a frown. "You also need to stabilize the NPC's emotions and let them trust you. Honestly speaking, this is the most frustrating part of the entire event."

"Then…" Xie Ai opened his mouth and asked, "Why don't we just find that window?"

"And jump out of every single one of them?" Qi Jingguo clicked his tongue. "You must have guts of steel to try something like that."

Xie Ai's face paled at the moment as his steps paused. "We have to jump off that window?"

"Yeah, what? Did you think you were going to worship it?" Qi Jingguo waved his hand. "Don't worry about it. If you have something to share with us, just tell us. Okay?"

He was indicating Xie Ai's slip of tongue earlier.

The latter ignored them and changed the topic without any hint of shame. "How do you buy these props or whatever you call them?"

"From the store. You'll know once we get out of this instance."

The three of them didn't talk anymore. Xie Ai continued to walk behind them silently, pondering over something.

Now that silence between the three of them emerged like this. His mind drifted off to those emerald eyes once again. His heartbeat increased a little as he stopped and glanced back.

Maybe his eyes were playing with him. He could still feel a dark shadow standing in the shadows back there.

"What are you looking at?" Yu Weimin asked.

Xie Ai shook his head. "Nothing."

He knew his actions were inducing more doubts in the hearts of these people, and he really didn't intend to hide it anymore. It's just….

His fingers curled to form a fist silently as he determined himself. Tonight, he would surely find out whether or not that person was Yu Chen.

As they walked, they all noticed that there wasn't a grill on the upper floors. Only ground-floor windows had grills. The most surprising thing, though, wasn't that.

Not a single speck of sunlight entered inside, even when the sun was facing their direction. The yellowish, dim light brightened up in the kerosene lamps attached to the walls. That was the only way they could see everything.

A gust of wind seemed to have passed through the corridor all of a sudden, sending chills down Xie Ai's spine. He rubbed his arms and asked, "Guys, where exactly are we going?"
