And he was right, there was indeed a backup power. The lights flickered in the dark before they came back on, illuminating the room as the darkness poofed away as if it wasn't there in the first place.

The guards could hear George, exhaling in relief, the scion wasn't a fan of the dark especially when people were after your life, losing your sight was catastrophic.

A loud explosion rang from below as the lights went off bringing them back to the embrace of darkness. "What just happened?!" George exclaimed, his eyes bulging though his expression couldn't be in the darkness.
