CHAPTER 30 It Was Your Fault

  Evan

Annie went home before I had the chance to offer her a ride. I was disappointed because I really wanted to see her. I decided to go over to her house to see what she was up to.

But just as I was about to ring the doorbell, I heard her mom screaming. She must be at it again. I wanted to barge inside and shut that bitch up, but that might make things worse for Annie. She was her mother, so she held all the power over her.

But I couldn't just leave her alone. Every time her mother got angry, Annie ended up with a new bruise. So I needed to make sure she was okay.

I quietly walked to their backyard and hopped over the fence. The kitchen was towards the back and the window was open, so I could hear everything they were saying.

"You are asking me why?" her mom said.

"Yes, Why do you hate me so much?" Annie asked. She was already sobbing.

"He left because of you!" her mom declared.

  "Who?" Annie sounded confused.
