Being judgemental

Pei Xingcheng let out a deep sigh as he raised his hand to rub his aching forehead. He looked at Miss Ghost, who was still going on and on about how heartbroken she felt because of him. She accused him of having a cruel heart and not caring about her feelings.

As he sat there, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of bad luck he had to suffer from such a miserable fate.

Why was he the chosen one who got to see her?

After a few minutes of listening to her complaints, he interrupted her mid-sentence. "Tell me something, Miss Ghost," he said, trying to keep his frustration in check. "Are you the actor, or am I the actor? Why is it that your acting is better than mine?"

Miss Ghost: "..."

Miss Ghost was deeply offended by Pei Xingcheng's words and glared at him with resentment. "How dare you question my feelings?" she exclaimed. "Here, I am complaining that you don't take me as your friend anymore, and you think I'm acting? How could you?"

Pei Xingcheng's raised eyebrows only fueled her frustration further. "Oh! Now, you have feelings, too?" he asked incredulously.

Miss Ghost was taken aback by his question. She raised her hand to smack him, a gesture she would have done if she was still alive. But she soon realized that she could not touch him anymore, so she put her hand down.

With a sharp, hissing voice, she demanded, "Why can't I have feelings? Just because I'm a ghost doesn't mean I don't have emotions. I was human like you once. Don't be so judgmental!"

"Also, I wasn't acting," she protested, still visibly agitated. "I care about you, Xingcheng. I consider you to be my ...friend. But since you find me to be a headache, I won't talk to you anymore."

She snorted indignantly, crossed her arms, and turned her face away from him.

Pei Xingcheng noticed her anger, and a smile flickered in his eyes. Her actions seemed familiar to him as if he had seen them before. His immediate reaction was to apologize and coax her. He almost opened his mouth to coax her, but then, remembering that she was a ghost and not his girlfriend, he closed his mouth immediately.

Thinking of the strange feeling in his heart, Pei Xingcheng felt confused.

What was wrong with him?

Why did he want to coax her?

She was not his girlfriend. She was just an annoying, beautiful ghost who loved embarrassing him on several occasions.

If she chose to ignore him, it would only be good for him.

"Good," he murmured, closing his eyes to rest. "Now I can finally have some peace."

When Miss Ghost heard that, she narrowed her eyes angrily and decided to ignore him for real. When she thought of the place where they were going and the movie Pei Xingcheng was going to shoot next, her lips curled up in a smile.

Because of the amnesia, he might have forgotten about it, but she didn't. Thinking of how he might suffer later, she smiled with satisfaction, waiting for them to reach that place as soon as possible.

The luxurious car glided effortlessly along the winding cobblestone path, taking in the picturesque scenery. As it approached the entrance, an imposing presence of large, wrought-iron gates came into view. The gates were a true work of art, standing tall and unyielding, a testament to the craftsmanship of a bygone era.

The driver, with the precision of a skilled professional, expertly navigated the car, bringing it to a halt in front of the gates. A low creak filled the air as the gates slowly swung open, revealing an overgrown driveway that snaked its way toward an abandoned mansion. The mansion, once a grand home, had fallen into disrepair, the brickwork now decaying and overrun by nature. Ivy and moss clung to the walls, creating an organic embrace around the weathered structure. The sight was both beautiful and haunting.

As the car came to a stop, Pei Xingcheng slowly opened his eyes and looked outside the window. He was surprised by the desolate, old, and lonely surroundings that greeted him. He couldn't help but wonder where he was and how he ended up in such a place.

When he looked at his side, he realized that Miss Ghost, who had been with him in the car, had disappeared. Thinking that she might still be angry with him, he touched his nose with a small sigh. Lowering the partition in the car, he looked at the driver.

"Are you sure this is the right location?" he asked.

The driver responded affirmatively, "Yes, Young Master Pei. This is the location that you gave me."

Pei Xingcheng frowned in confusion. Soon, one of his bodyguards came forward and opened the door for him. As he stepped out of the car, he saw the gloomy mansion in front of him and felt a sense of dread. The atmosphere was tense and ominous, adding to his unease.

He murmured to himself, "Why do I feel like I am standing in front of an abandoned haunted mansion?"

The more he looked at the mansion, and the gloomy atmosphere around him, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was not right about this location.

Just as he was about to investigate further, Miss Ghost appeared beside him. She explained, "Yes, this is a famous abandoned haunted mansion."

Pei Xingcheng was taken aback by her words and exclaimed, "What?!"

"Aren't you aware?" she asked, blinking her eyes innocently.

Pei Xingcheng shook his head, stuttering. "N-no... no, I-i... no... how..... why...."

But soon, he regained his composure when he recalled the several pranks and tricks she had done on him in the past two months. Thinking that she was lying to him again, he felt angry and frustrated.

He narrowed his eyes and glared at her fiercely. "See! This is why I don't want you in my life. You don't miss a single opportunity to mess with me,"

Feeling confused and hurt by his accusations, Miss Ghost frowned and asked, "No! Wait, what did I do?"

Pei Xingcheng didn't respond to her question and instead walked away, leaving Miss Ghost behind.
