Can you sleep with me?

After an extremely embarrassing shower, Pei Xingcheng quickly scrambled to get dressed while keeping a watchful eye on Miss Ghost, making sure that she didn't leave his side. Once he was fully clothed, he let out a sigh of relief and said to her, "I'm done. You can turn around now."

Miss Ghost turned around, and her eyes were immediately drawn towards his wet hair. "You really should dry your hair," she advised.

Pei Xingcheng, feeling completely drained after the day's events, was in no mood to do anything. He moaned and shook his head, "Ugh, forget it. I'm too tired to do anything. I'll just let it dry naturally."

Miss Ghost's face contorted with worry as she looked at Pei Xingcheng's wet hair. She remembered all too well how easily he could catch a cold or fever if he slept with wet hair. Having lived with him in the past, she had seen him fall ill numerous times as a result of this habit. Despite her warnings, he had never changed his ways, which made her feel helpless and frustrated.

In the past, she used to take care of him, including drying his hair. However, in her current state, she was unable to touch the blow dryer or help him in any way. Moreover, she didn't want him to fall ill again, especially since he had just recovered from the accident.

Hence, she stared at him firmly and insisted, "Xingcheng, dry your hair before you go to bed. Otherwise, with your squeamish personality, you might catch a cold or fever."

"I am not squeamish!" He retorted, glaring at her unhappily.

Miss Ghost looked at him with a blank expression. "Are you going to dry your hair or not?"

In other words, she meant to say, "Are you going to dry your hair, or should I leave you alone?" That's what Pei Xingcheng heard. Hearing the threat in her words and realizing that she was serious, he got up with a sigh, took the blow dryer, and started to blow his hair.

As he did so, he glanced at her slightly and asked, "Miss Ghost, how did you know that I would get sick if I slept with wet hair?"

He was genuinely curious and wanted to know how she came to this conclusion. As far as he knew, only one person knew about this, and that was only his brother.

Miss Ghost snorted coldly. "I guessed, after all, squeamish people are delicate, frail, and easy to get sick."

Pei Xingcheng: "........." (Why did he even bother to ask? He should have known that she woudl have no good words for him.)

Ignoring her, he quickly blow-dried his hair. Once it was completely dry, he turned to her and asked, "Can I take some rest now?"

She nodded.

Pei Xingcheng was instantly relieved. He quickly got on the bed and closed his eyes. However, the moment he closed his eyes to rest, all he could think of was the feminine voice he had heard in the shower. A cold chill ran down his spine, and he shivered in fear.

Mommy, how was he going to sleep in this haunted mansion, knowing that there was a female ghost who wanted to enjoy his body?

He slowly opened his eyes, feeling a cold breeze on his face, and saw Miss Ghost standing next to the window. Fearfully, he called out to her, his voice barely above a whisper, "Miss Ghost."

She turned around and looked at him with her ghostly eyes, almost transparent but still filled with warmth. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.

"I'm scared," he admitted, still trembling with fear.

Miss Ghost was surprised to hear him confess his fear of ghosts. She knew him well enough to know that he was a man who cared about his face and would never accept or admit his vulnerability or weakness in front of anyone. But now that he did, she understood that he was truly scared.

"Don't worry, I'm here," she said, moving closer to him. "You can go to sleep now. I'll watch over you."

Unfortunately, Pei XIngcheng was still afraid to sleep alone in bed. Hence, he decided it was best to call her over to sleep next to him. "Miss Ghost, can you... can you sleep with me?" he asked, hesitantly feeling slightly embarrassed.

However, for some reason, just as he was finished with those words, his cheeks turned red, and his heart started to beat faster. In his life, he had slept with several women, but for the first time, when he asked Miss Ghost, he couldn't but feel a little shy.

Wait, what? Was he being shy? Why?

Pei Xingcheng was internally shocked when he realized that he was getting shy. Why was he getting shy for? It wasn't like he was asking her to sleep with him.

And why was his heart beating faster?

When Miss Ghost caught a glimpse of his red cheeks and slightly confused gaze, her lips curled into a playful smile. "Oh my, Xingcheng, I didn't know that you had such impure thoughts about me. But have you forgotten? I am a ghost, and you are a human. No matter how much you may desire me, it is simply impossible for us to be together in that way."

Pei Xingcheng: "........."

With a sudden gasp, she seemed to have stumbled upon a revelation, her eyes widening in surprise. "Is that why you've been pushing me away?" she exclaimed. "You must have fallen in love with me at first sight and wanted to sleep with me from the very beginning."

"But you knew that I am a ghost and that you can't touch me," she continued. "That's why you tried to keep your distance. However, today, after I protected you from the female ghost, you couldn't contain your love for me anymore and finally asked me to sleep with you."

Pei Xingcheng's face reddened with anger as he bellowed, "Who, who, who wants to sleep with you?!!!!!"
