CHAPTER 57- HEARTBREAK.

Word had spread to every corner of the manor that the city was to be laid under siege. The governor had decided not to spare anyone the slightest details about the oncoming war. There'd been unrest as expected.

Janice had even heard some servants who were weak of heart talking about fleeing the city. The majority of them still had hope in their hearts, though. The rest, however, considered the governor mad for wanting Doria to stand and fight against the Persians.

As for her, Janice was born and raised in Doria. And when she died, she hoped to be buried there as well. She wasn't going to leave the city as long as they remained a stone atop another that hadn't been thrown down. Besides that, Doria was where Bren was. And there she'd stay.

She was heading for the kitchens when Darian appeared in front of her. "My lord? What are you doing here?" She asked, greatly surprised.

Darian smiled. "What did I say you could call me when no-one was around?" He shot back and she smirked.
