The Red Lands (2)

Well, who knows? Then again, it was all just pure speculation on Caius' part.

The previous scream that the silver-haired man heard must have come from these humans.

Not far from the three corpses that were still air-dried was a human on a stake who was miraculously still alive. There were several big wounds that were still dripping blood from his body, but he did not look like he would die in a short period of time.

The man's face showed despair, and his clothes were pitifully thin and were now in tatters, as if they would drift with the wind and his body would become bare in front of everyone anytime soon. His hands and feet were hung on a wooden stake, and his face and body were full of blood.

Focusing on the man's attire, Caius finally saw a necklace glinting gold under the illumination of the sun hanging on the man's neck. It was the symbol of the sun, an indication that the man was a member of the Temple of Light in the human realm.
