Chapter 30 – A Night at the Lightningheart compound

Third person POV

Not long after, at 5 in the afternoon, along the way, Robert and Max parted ways with William, Emma, and Peter, who will sleep at the palace, before entering into the compound via the front, main doors.

And as he opens the front door of the main house, Robert greeted, "I'm home."

"Welcome back, you two," Mary greeted back while cooking dinner.

Robert and Max then take off their leather boots and put them aside on a rack.

Blaise was mixing some liquids at the alchemy laboratory of the compound when Robert and Max came home. Aaron, meanwhile, was reading a book at the family library house.

Robert and Max then entered the living room and rested at the sofa.

Mary then came to the living the room with two glasses of water, only to see a katana leaning on the side of the sofa.

"What's that, Robert?" she asked Robert.

"Oh, this is a katana," Robert responded back positively. "I got it for 75 gold coins."

"Are you going to join the army?"

"No, he just wanted to try it," Max responded to this, "and to go on adventures that requires a melee weapon."

He then grabbed one of the glasses and took a sip of it in thirst.

Robert then grabbed the other glass and said thank you to her, before taking a sip of it.

"I see," Mary replied. "I don't think Aaron would accept that."

"I'll go talk to him at the dinner table," Robert responded positively.

Later at 6 in the evening, at the dinner table, Robert told his older sister and grandfather what he did this afternoon. Aaron was surprised while Blaise was shocked to hear that.

"Wow, so you want to learn how to wield a melee weapon like a katana?" Aaron asked.

Robert then positively nodded. "Yes, grandpa, I want to try that."

"A-Are you sure about that, Robert-kun?" Blaise frantically asked.

"Please calm down, Blaise," Aaron said to her. "Don't panic while eating."

"Sorry, grandpa."

With that Aaron looked at Robert. "I see. If you want to try that, then go for it. Your father used to wield a melee weapon, but in his case, it's a sword."

"Wow, I didn't know that," Robert responded.

"Well, Robert-kun," Sofia replied, "your father was strong and skillful in his sword skills. We even still had his sword at our family archives room."

"Oh, really?" Robert responded back.

Sofia then nodded. "Yes, I'll show you later."

"Okay then."

Later after dinner, Sofia led Robert and Blaise to the family archives room to reveal to them James' sword. At the family archives room, she turned on the lights, revealing glass display containing the said sword, which was a double-edged sword with a coffee brown and black leather handle and made of iron and steel.

"Here it is, James' sword." Sofia introduced that object to Robert and Blaise.

Robert and Blaise were amazed at the sword's appearance despite it looking decent and regular.

"Wow, dad's sword…," Blaise commented.

"So cool," Robert added.

Robert then looked at Sofia. "I really want to follow dad's footsteps."

"To be a soldier?" Sofia asked back.

"No, just wielding a melee weapon." Robert shook his head.

"I see. Okay then."

After that, Sofia turned off the lights, and she, Robert, and Blaise left the room.
