Chapter 58 – Exploration at the Village

Third person POV

Later, 4 o'clock struck, and Robert and his group, except for the driver, went out to explore the humble, farming village. They went to the fields where farmers plough the fields for the next planting season. One of the farmers gave them an in-depth tour on how they do it. He explained to them that ploughing the fields at winter will prepare them for the next planting season, which will take place in early spring, and the harvest season will be in late summer and early autumn.

Robert, William, and Peter are interested, despite having no intentions of becoming farmers, while Emma wasn't interested at all.

Colt and Masanori took some free sample seeds offered by the farmer and examined their looks, seeing how high-quality they were, before thinking about growing them at home.

"My home country had a colder climate," Masanori commented, "so it might be very difficult for me to grow these."

"I see, sir, you must be from Kita, right?" the farmer asked in response.

"That's right," Masanori positively responded back. "That would be my home country."

"Okay then, well, if you want to grow them at home, put them in flower pots that had fertile soil dirt. Then water them regularly every day, but make sure you do that early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when the sun is not present."

Getting what the farmer had said, Colt replied, "Oh, okay. I'll take note of that."

Seeing this, Robert thought, "Wow, they are interested."

Later at 5 in the afternoon, Robert and his group went to the village street fair to check out the products offered by the people. They are marveled by the quality of the products being presented to them by the sellers, from books to regular household items and hats. It was a busy street fair, with shopkeepers constantly advertising their products to passing people.

Robert then bought two pairs of spoon and fork, made of silver, for 20 gold coins, which was considered a great deal, while William and Emma bought some clothes, made of locally-made cloth, for 50 gold coins.

Masanori and Colt looked at the melee weapons available, but not planning to buy any of them, partially because they already have some of them at their homes.

Peter, on the other hand, browsed for any book that is available, thinking about giving most of them to his lover as presents. After much searching and finding, he found one, which is about herbs and berries, and asked the seller for the price of it.

"Hi, sir, that'll be 15 gold coins," the seller responded back.

"Wow, are the books getting cheaper and cheaper?" Peter asked back.

"Well, sir, paper is getting cheaper, so the books are getting cheaper," the seller guessed the answer.

"I see, okay then, I'll take it," Peter replied back, before getting his wallet to get some coins in order to pay for it.

Receiving the money, the seller grabbed the said book and put it in a paper bag, before giving it to Peter. "Come again."

Receiving the paper bag, Peter bowed slightly for a moment and replied back, "Thank you so much."

He then left the stand, and went on to browse for more books.

Meanwhile, Emma was trying on new hats, and she was full of excitement. Upon seeing this, Robert thought, "Wow, she's so positive, but, how?"

Then, William commented Emma's appearance with a summer hat, "Wow, you looked beautiful with that hat, Emma-chan. Do you want to buy it?"

Taking off the hat, Emma responded, "I'm not sure. There are plenty of others out there."

Then, Robert said to her, "Emma-chan, you looked so happy."

Realizing that she let her guard down, Emma became tsundere. "Hmph! I only acted like that whenever you're not around."

"Really?" Robert asked back. "You don't like my presence?"

"Emma-chan, that's not nice," William gave her a scolding.

"Whatever," Emma retorted, before handing the hat to the seller and left the scene.

Watching this, Robert said to William, "Man, I don't understand her personality."

"It's more complex than you thought," William replied back.
