Chapter 65 – A New Home for Marionette and Harold

Third person POV

After that, Sol walked up to the road and used magic to create a portal that leads to the streets of Keystone, Saverfort.

Robert and the others are stunned and surprised to see that.

"Is that a portal?"

"Can that one fit the horse wagon?"

Turning towards them, Sol answered back, "Yes, come on, let's go home."

Robert and the others did so, and they, including Marionette and Harold, went into the portal, alongside the horse wagon, before the portal would close into nothingness.

Shortly thereafter, the portal had opened up in front of the palace, and Robert, Sol, and their group came out of it, before it once again close into nothingness.

They then looked at the palace, and Sol said to them with cold look on his face, "First things first, I need to talk to your Matthew-san."

Realizing this, William responded, "Right, dad didn't tell this to you, right?"

"That's right."

They then all went in, and the palace guards, upon seeing William their master's son, immediately opened the doors for them while greeting with a welcome back. Robert and his group then went in, and the guards closed the doors.

Now in the hallways towards the Ruler's office, Marionette asked in unsure, "Are you sure your leader will accept us as refugees?"

"Don't worry, my lady," William responded back, "you and your younger brother will be always welcomed in this kingdom."

Not long after, they arrived at the Ruler's office, and Sol pushed the doors hard and loud. This alerts Matthew II, who was doing his usual paperwork, but he became fearful after realizing what he didn't do.

Then, Sol walks towards him and grabbed his clothes. "My students almost got into danger because of you."

Being pulled by the strongest sage in the whole world, Matthew II stammered, "I-I'm sorry! I had forgotten to tell you this. I was just too busy with work, that's all."

"Next time," Sol responded back, "inform me before any of their diplomatic trip or mission. Got that?"

In desperation, the middle-aged Ruler nodded in agreement, before Sol would let go of him in response, causing Matthew II to breath heavily.

"Are you okay, sir?" one of his attendants asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, thank you," the Ruler replied back.

"By the way," Sol added, "the younger princess and prince of Vanworth are here to defect."

"Oh, they are?" Matthew II replied back.

Sol then nodded. "Yes, are you willing to let them in?"

"Are you sure that they are not spies?"

Then, Robert responded, "I think they are being abused by their eldest brother. I saw it."

"I see," Matthew II replied. Then to Marionette and Harold, "Well then, welcome to our kingdom, Marionette, Harold. I had been hearing about you two from my spies."

"Are you going to take us in?" Harold asked back. "We won't do anything bad."

"Sure, sure, you two are welcome in this kingdom anytime. We'll prepare your new residence and-"

"They're going to live at my place," Sol interrupted.

"Oh, you mean at your palatial home?"

"Yes."

"Wait, are you a noble or something?" Marionette asked back.

"I am the headmaster of one of Saverfort's finest and prestigious magic academies," Sol responded back.

"Eh?" Marionette replied back.

Then, William responded, "Yes, that'll be our school. We are in first-year, so we're a bit new."

"I see. Can my younger brother join, too? He never attended a school before because of our father."

"Sure, I'll cover his tuition, too," Sol replied back.

To that, Marionette started to tear up in joy and fell on her knees. "Thank you so much for everything! And we're sorry for our kingdom's actions against you!"

"Woah, big sis, you don't have to apologize like that," Harold said to her frantically.

"Your younger brother is right," Matthew II responded to this. "It wasn't your fault. Please stand up."

Marionette did so, and she wiped her tears with her hands. But Robert gave her a handkerchief instead.
